  1. Reading some of the forums etc Everton say they sang it in the 60s and probably before but it went out of favour and was revived in the 80s. I also found a reference from a Glentoran fan saying they've sang for at least 50 years and it was an adaption from the Pirates of Penzance. It's probably another one of these that's been stolen so many times nobody really knows who sang it first.
  2. Also Everton's "it's a grand old team to play for"
  3. Stjarnan/Bangor City - ISL/WAL
  4. The bottom six normally play on the Saturday, with the top six on Sunday. Both set of fixtures with the same kick off time.
  5. There was also a recent Court of Arbitration decision against Falkirk (Mark Stewart to Bradford) which decided that that the development of a player finishes as soon as he becomes the first team regular. So a 23 year old with no first team experience potentially would command a higher development fee than a 23 year old with 150 first team experiences which started when he was 16.
  6. Anier signed a 2 and a half year contract in January.
  7. I don't think Fraser Kerr should be included in that list as he wasn't promoted direct from the youth system but via Birmingham.
  8. So do I but I don't think he would have made that team if his name had been in the first section of midfielders. I would have had 5 or 6 in that section in before him but you needed to pick one from the second batch and I think he's probably the one most remembered.
  9. No it's not it would be Tax Evasion and fraud which is illegal. Tax avoidance is legal avoidance of tax.
  10. No it's not we could end up with home games against Inverness and St Johnstone in the top six against home games against Hearts and Hibs in the bottom six. So it still depends on some degree of luck of the draw. The only way it is more rewarding is if you get Celtic at home in the top 6.
  11. Friday night in December is madness, one of the biggest nights of the year for office parties.
  12. Why would they need to sell anyone?
  13. I've read this today, if that was part of the proposals no wonder they knocked it back. 11-1 vote is bad enough but 41-1 is mental.
  14. Not quite true, you would be automatically suspended for the next game in that tournament unless it is a straight red for violent conduct, then it is for the next game no matter the tournament.
  15. Personally I think the 93-94 team that finished 3rd was better than both.
  16. Reading Stewart Gilmour's comments yesterday it the proposals not only retained the 11-1 voting but also guaranteed that they couldn't be changed for 3 years.
  17. There is an awful lot of people making predictions for a game which is alleged to have taken place 4 weeks ago!! "Motherwell Vs St.mirren... Match Thread, 06/03/13"
  18. There is still 4 teams that can get the 6th spot, so it's hardly all but confirmed.
  19. Not it's not, the colt clubs will be allowed promotion but not into the league their real team is until they leave Scotland then they can go right up to the top. So it could affect the SPL teams as well. It's a decision for the whole of Scottish football.
  20. In 2010/2011 Inverness in 7th finished on more points than the Kilmarnock in 5th and us in 6th. This season could actually see the team in 10th having more points than the team finishing 6th (or higher). Edit: checking back in 2005/2006 it seems that ICT (again) in 7th had more points than the 4th placed team.
  21. I may be giving Doncaster and the SPL too much credit, but I think the ridiculous league structure may be a deliberate ploy to scupper the other more important issues which are also on the table. When it gets to the vote they will then say they've listened to the fans, that way the SPL and the financial structure stays as is.
