  1. Was an elbow straight to the dish not allowed in them days ??
  2. I've put a wee Yankie on all four results going against us. I don't think it's likely, but if it does happen, I can get pissed for free.
  3. What actually happened with Nathan Thomas ?? I thought we paid a small fee to secure him and then he disappeared like John Gardner at a corner.
  4. He'd only start talking about going to Hearts
  5. Just had my usual look at the Aberdeen forum, which I do when we pump them :-) Got to love Aberdeen fans. A defeat and McInnes is holding them back, a couple of wins and they bypass league chat and go straight to 'European glory nights'. Nothing better than pumping these wankers
  6. That's what I remember May being like (Hibs & Falkirk ?) before McGinger tried to make him a right back. Did he not score in his first couple of games ?
  7. You should remember this weeyin, Vic Davidson getting 5 v Alloa in 7-0 league cup victory.
  8. Spot on. If you can see past his whoring tendencies, how about just looking at his managerial record ? Bar 2/3 of a season for us, it's fuckin' awful.
  9. Probably hoping Celtic will come in for him at the last minute.
  10. The word 'legend' gets used far too often to describe ex-players. This is one case where it hardly goes far enough. Joe Wark deserves this title. I started supporting and watching Motherwell in the 74/75 season so Joe was in his heyday. A model of consistency and extremely faithful to the club. As WeeYin said, the best timing of a tackle you'll ever see. RIP.
  11. Any player who plays half a season of first team football and reckons he's going to go and start every week in the championship is deluded. Everybody could see that except him and his agent. Jim O'Brien, for example, was a much better developed player (not saying better, just further on in his development) when he went down south and it took him nearly two years to become a standard name on the team sheet type player at Barnsley. Young players need to stop believing their agents.
  12. I suspect that also. Can't go three at the back with Ainsworth and Johnson. Not exactly known for slotting in at the back when under pressure. You can do that when your backs are people like Rab McKinnon.
  13. Is Hammerfist out of the nick or been allowed on the internet in the Library ??
  14. Mixu Put-a-line-on going to be on the STV news talking about his bid to become our new manager. At least it's not fat Sally

    Baraclough Out

I agree with that and have always held the opinion that he was never as good as the amount of money that Ginger McTwat paid for him. That goal seems to have tinted a lot of people's specs.
  16. Mark McGhee and his German contacts

    Baraclough Out

Could be worse, He could have added "turn a corner".
  18. He did a mazy run down the wing that woke the crowd up though. Pretty much the first time the crowd woke up all afternoon. Was a rank rotten game.
  19. Straker on a wage busting five year deal.....
  20. Agree with all of the above. McCall sent us out off the back of a bad run and already beaten in the cup final with all his fannying about with formations and playing players in unfamiliar positions. I didn't fear Rangers in a footballing sense but going down to these cunts would have been hard to get over, so I was nervous as hell before it. I think we'd all seen enough of them to know that they weren't much of a side, but that doesn't always matter when you're playing them. As my old man used to tell me when I started going in the 70's, you sometimes need to beat the cunts 3-0 to get a draw :-)
  21. I've just got round to watching Baraclough's three interviews (before, middle and after). You've got to admit that he handled that superbly. Especially the pre Ibrox one where most of the media questioning was about Rangers and how good they were and what could he do to negate their threat. He acknowledged that it had been worked on but spoke at great length about the damage we were capable of doing to them. He comes across as calm, assured and prepared. I think he can turn into a very good manager given the right circumstances.
  22. I would agree with that. he's only really played half a season of first team football. I'd be willing to bet his first team appearances will be rare for the next two years. Would have though he'd have been better with another couple of years almost guaranteed first team football before moving to a place here he's still going to get to play regularly. Can appreciate though, that the zeros in the big number on the contract would cloud our judgement
  23. Players generally talk a lot of shite at end of contract time. EG Higdon saying he would stay if McCall did. Anything a player indicates in the aftermath of the final game of the season can be largely ignored.
