  1. Was my first year with a season ticket and was absolutely sure we were going to win the cup that year We were so far ahead of the h**s that night it wasn't true. Will remember that cunt Gordon's name forever.
  2. ^^ This. I was thirteen at the time and that scarred me for life. There's a hell of a lot of shit refs around, but Gordon's bias was so blatant it was hard to believe. That and the fact the he actually got caught cheating and accepting bribes. that doesn't happen too often (although I'm sure there were more around that time). If there was ever a Premiership of refereeing cunts, that cunt would be top of the cunt league.
  3. +1 Shades of the 'all Higdon can do is score goals' criticism from last year. Cue the posts in six months, "That Anier boy might be SPL top scorer but he sclaffed them aw, get him tae fuck"
  4. Hateley (and Daley obviously) are the only ones I wouldn't be bothered about losing, from our list of out of contract players. He's a reasonable SPL standard right back. Nothing more, nothing less. Totally replaceable.
  5. Don't think there was an awful lot between Boyd and Wark. Very similar in ability to read the game (from a very young age with Boyd). Joe wark though, as well as being an excellent footballer with shit loads of ability, was also a Motherwell man for his whole career, which will automatically put him in that 'special' bracket. I don't think in my entire life, I ever saw or heard the phrase 'Joe Wark has been offered another contract at Motherwell and will weigh up his options before making a decision'. You just always knew that Joe Wark would be there.
  6. You could probably say exactly the same thing about Sutton when he was with us, but it didn't stop him fucking off for the Lithuanian dollars. if Higgy stays, it'll be great for the club, but I think he'll have offers that we can't compete with, unfortunately.
  7. But on this board, he'll be a c**t if we don't win today
  8. I think that is the key for every club in the league. Most towns and cities lose more punters to both sides of the filth than they got going to see their 'local' team. This should be a chance to grab some of them back to watching fitba' rather than their gloryhunting hunnery.
  9. Fuck that. We can do Hearts home and away
  10. It's more likely that we'd be signing his boy too.......
  11. Last year, when Houston was complaining about some young player demanding £1.8K / week, I'm sure the article stated that was their top earners that were on that kind of money. Find it hard to believe that Las would be on half of that. Surely we're paying top players around the 1.5 - 2k mark ?
  12. And he's recovering from injury. That alone should make paw Broon want him, if only to keep Stephen Hughes company on the treatment table.
  13. No need for them to win tomorrow. A draw is fine for us
  14. No need to go that far A draw'll dae
  15. Erm, don't want to be a killjoy, but we've secured fuck all yet..............
  16. Love the fact that we've got this and the 'Time Running Out For McCall' thread running together
  17. T Boyd lived in Broomhouse mostly when he played for the 'Well. Was a regular in The Ostlers (or The Mail Coach as it was then).
  18. We were pretty spolied in the mid 70's as well. Can't believe Vic Davidson isn't on anyones list. One of the most gifted players ever to play for 'Well. He walzed past people like they weren't there. Much ammo for Pettigrew/Graham came from the boots of wee Vic.
  19. Pat Gardner and Gregor Stevens lived in Garrowhill. I delivered their Evening Times
  20. These c***s on the Aberdeen forum have got a semi final thread going already !! Want to see them well and truly pumped tomorrow. Can't wait to email their admin and tell him he'd better lock the thread or make it a stick for next year
  21. And Vic Davidson and Peter Marinello and Ian Taylor and.............

    Ojamaa

We just didn't grt him on the ball often enough today and when he did he was usually faced with two defenders. How they managed to double up on ALL our forwards today beats me We need to make more of these runs he makes into spaces in the channels. When he did get on the ball, he was dangerous.
  23. Seem to remember a rumour about some Spanish 'Goal Machine' but can't recall if it ever came to anything. Don't think it was a very long thread..............
  24. Watched the game on TV. Must admit I'm not a big fan of Higdon, but I thought he actually did quite well today. One thing that happens time and again is that Higdon comes back to between half way and their box to get under a Randy kick out, and gets a flick on. There are NEVER any 'Well players beyond Higdon. No point in sending the guy out to get headers and flick ons if no one is going to go beyond him. In general. I thought he was actually quite tidy, especially the times he brought the ball down and played it wide. Still can't see the point of a target man for long balls if no one plays in front of him. He could be fuckin' superman, but he can't be expected to get on the end of his own flick ons !
