They say you should never go back, but I'd invite him back - he'd be better than some of our strike options
Could we afford him?
-
Jim McIntyre and Tom Wright now being quoted for Tannadice also - the usual media speculation. Interestingly sources on Tayside are saying they'll just appoint who they want as money is no object (to an extent) - the kind of compensation St Johnstone and Ross County would be looking for is chickfeed to them.
Would Billy Dodds not be a stumbling block to McIntyre returning to United? Was he not there before and left under a cloud?

Good to see what the club's own ambitions are

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32953422 Someone want to tell me looking at the pics here how McCall missed it?
Thought the same myself - selective blindness perhaps??

After last night I hope Accies free fall continues and they end up in the bottom 6!
I'd fancy our chances for 3 points against them more than I would against Dundee or St Johnstone.
^^+1
Just beat me to it

Got to agree LD. Really like what I hear from Baraclough so far. Especially the youth aspect and hard work.
This might seem a silly point but he looks fit and healthy and looks like he takes care of himself. Someone like that can have high standards of fitness that rubs off on the players.
Got to echo these thoughts as well. It's also refreshing to hear positive comments from a manager too. I liked McCall but a flaw in his manner was his, at times, negative outlook in certain games. Hopefully this positive attitude also rubs off on the players.

Can't see shout box on my phone, so apologies if it's there already. Caught a bit of Chick Young on the radio with a board member, didn't catch a name, talking about manager situation. Suggestion was made that Kenny Black would be an assistant to someone else & not the manager in his own right.

So if we're in fan ownership by the end of November, will fans be polled to see who gets the job? If not, how will the new man be selected?

Airdrie went bust within 12 months of Archibald leaving.
Most of the players ended up at Livi.
As I said Steelboy, not how I want my club run & hopefully the sensible members who make up our board consider the lessons of history, especially ones that close to home

Seem to recall a deal at Airdrie/ Livingston a few years ago now involving Stevie Archibald & loads of Spanish players. He made his money showcasing talent & selling them on - a winger to Dundee Utd then Celtic (Fernandez?) & the keeper who ended up at Celtic (Sanchez?). It has been done but not how I want my club run, thanks very much

Just posted similar on the thread about goals on Sunday. We do have a knack of things landing positively for us at times

6 month contract for McGhee? We were the fittest we've ever been under McGhee and played some fab football. He also played players where they should be played, if memory serves

So with all the injuries at the mo, are we perhaps now suffering most from John Porteous's departure? He was seen to be a genius at getting injured players back & keeping players free from injuries.
-
Didn't realise goals only counted when the opposition has it's strongest XI out. By the way that 'weakened' Partick team had one player in it that wasn't getting a game in the league - Marc Kerr.
3 goals in 9 starts is piss poor?
If so what was McFadden's 4 goals in 21 starts then?
I suppose they're too different kinds of players - I'm not sure Faddy would be classed as an out-&-out centre forward, while Goodwillie isn't exactly the creative type.
Would I swap Sutton of last year or Higgy of 2 years back with Goodwillie of the same periods? No chance but Goodwillie from the early days was certainly a talent. As mentioned before, yet another waster of his talent

Just heard McInnes moan about free kicks & cheating (mibbee not the cheating!). Does he not remember Anderson's handball back at the 'Ark?? GIRFUY, manager of the year. The man has no class!

Always good to see our club get some recognition, especially after all the love for McInnes & McNamara. Good read as well

Excuse my cynicism, but, are the season books not about to go on sale for the H&@s? They obviously need to look like they're strengthening the squad to placate the thick-as-f&@ks whose money they need.

Is this something we should be considering or is he liable to be outwith our pay scale?

It's also a good article

I think we should sign the rest of the boys from One Direction. Doncaster Rovers must be loving the amount of money they're raking in for reserve games.
Sidney mentioned this on 'Off the Ball' yesterday, but did I not see something about the monies going to a children's hospice/ hospital or similar?

Ramsden has been a very good signing. A real steady eddie in a couple of positions.
Carswell has been up and down but he's certainly a trier. I got into trouble for my opinion on Steve Jennings a while back but I think Carswell is similar in that he's not a creative player and isn't likely to excite too many scouts or journalists with his technique or vision so he's never going to get the same attention as a Gauld or Mackay-Steven.
However ever team needs a player like that in midfield so I don't mean to denigrate him in anyway when I say that.
As a regular at the top end of the SPFL I think Carswell should have been called up by the U21's especially when players are in that squad that aren't even close to first team football but at the end of the day it's up to Billy Stark to pick what he thinks is the best team.
You mean like a Paul Lambert or ,and I'm not in anyway comparing them, a Makalele (sp!)

Here's the Macaroon Bars, The spearmint chewing gum.
Always thought "hairy macaroon" sounded awful
I'll get my jacket...

Huge result, solidly in 2nd place & back with a positive goal difference! Hopefully we'll continue our strong 2nd half to the season tradition. Fingers crossed results go our way on Wednesday

You would think playing Stewart made more sense because he'll be training with the players day in, day out & the defence will know him. So to play a total stranger makes no sense, and that's before we ask whether or not he's any good or has any game time.

never had the chance to see him play but in recent years he was a fixture at the ex-players dinner and any time i encountered him there, he was a true gent - RIP Joe
