  1. Sheffield United reportedly sacked manager Danny Wilson

Was There not a hint that Law was destined to go there?

Some hope of retaining him ?

I'll leave the Murphy rumour until January

Hopefully the compensation agreement in McCall's new contract is substantial!!

  2. How does this work then, Gers can't sign anyone until 1st Sept & most contracts end at the end of May, so are players expected to sit around for 3 months just cos the, once, mighty Gers have come calling all players are going to get wet & hang about for them! I really hate the fact that the media still think all players want to play for either half of the Old Firm & if they're out of contract that's where they'll end up

  3. Might be ghoulish or simply insensitive, but time waits for no man and all that, who from the Dunfermline players would be worth a contract at the 'Ark? Just noticed that Gallacher gas been freed and with Randy probably offski I think he could be worth a shout, even just as back up to Hollis

  4. Hopefully now that it looks like the manager's about to sign a new deal, some of the out of contract guys might decide to stay put as well. Randolph has already suggested playing week in, week out is preferable to big pay day & sitting on a bench.

  5. Will I say it? Hmmm Aye might as well, Faddy in to replace Murphy :whistling:.

Can't see a queue of clubs lining up to take him after his 'starring' role at Sunderland, imo. He's hardly played any time & the wee bits I've seen he's not shone. Still feel he needs to play at a lower level to regain his match fitness before moving forward again. Why not a short term deal at the 'Ark to do it

  6. AM I in the minority here. I don't think it was such a great save. He guessed the right side that was all.

When did the rules change, as far as I was aware (no doubt I will be corrected).

The goalkeeper must remain perfectly still on the goal line until the ball is kicked. If he moves and saves it then the kick is retaken.

Forster takes a large step forward and too the side thus cutting down the angle just before the kick is taken.

I have noticed that goalkeepers seem to be getting away with this more and more.

I'm not too sure but I think that a Celtic player was encroaching(lovely word that) into the penalty area on the far side which would also mean that the kick would have to be retaken.

    ;) ;)

Rule was changed a few years ago. You are allowed to move on the line, side to side, provided you don't encroach the taker. Definitely helps the keeper IMO

    Per-contract I assume?

    Won't happen.

So would the pre-contract compensate players who wouldn't earn any wages from end of May until the beginning of September since no one can sign for Sevco until then? Either the MSM are trying to appease the mass ranks of thick h**s or the transfer embargo has no weight at all.

  8. Unfortunately the TV pictures dont look great!

Hardly vicious, but there is an obvious flicking out of his boot. Can only presume he has either thought the boy has come in to do him and reacted, has been trying to wind him up, or if we're being generous, instinctively swung his leg out to try and break his fall or stop an awkward landing.

I'm more concerned about who sets the agenda here? Andy walker? Scotsport? Or the SFA?

Lee mcculloch had a look over his shoulder to see where cummins was before elbowing him in the face, yet that didn't make the highlights. Am I putting 2+2 together by suggesting he gets an easy ride because he's pretty good with the press?

Same situation with Stevie Thompson if St Mirren, incident in front of the Cooper Stand & it wasn't shown on the highlights package, and guess what, he's another media darling!! Mentioned before, all we look for is consistency, not favours

  9. Because if he did that on a consistent basis he would be playing for Barcelona.

The Humph might not get it right every time, but at one point today Inverness had three men on him.

His actual presence on the pitch scares the shit out of teams.

As much as it infuriates me at times, I know that that's exactly why our players make wrong decisions. Doesn't soften the blow any tho

  10. I see from MFCTV that it looks like Thompson had a kick at Hutch causing the incident in the box - 3 match suspension? Who do I write to?

Does the SFA/ SPL etc take notice of club's own TV coverage? It was strange that the Sportscene 'coverage' showed footage from behind the goal for a Randolph save but didn't deem it suitable to show anything about what may or not have happened between the 2 of them. Here's a controversial thought, anything at all to do with Thompson being their flavour of the month?

  11. That's why there is the experts like yourself to enlighten us on the subtltties of the game.I would love to have the knowledge and vision that a guy like yourself has.

I will give you a few examples. From where I was sitting, on the ignorant side of the footballing fence, I would have said that Higdon did not win a header all night. I would also say that the service he was supposed to be giving to Ojamaa was non-existent. If a man with your knowledge was sitting beside me you would have been able to tell me how wrong I was and explain to me the in's and out's of the worthwhile contribution that Higdon was making.

Also when after 90 mins, as a clueless fucker, I am scratching my head as to why a team of professional players such as Motherwell cannot manage one shot (not one fuck'n shot) on target in 90 mins, as one of the knowledgable Well fans you could calm my soul by patting me on the back and telling me that I just do not understand the complexities of the game of football.

Maybe on the other hand however Motherwell fan's in general know more about the game than a man like yourself will ever give them credit for and when they see a pish poor performance from their team they call it like it is rather than trying to make excuses for a squad of players that simply had no belief in their own abilities to win the football match

Motherwell lost 2-0 at home to a good to average European side last night. They contributed almost nothing by way of a goal threat making some very basic mistakes along the way. That is not rocket science, it's just the way that it is and it does not need a football matermind to see it as much as you would like to tell us otherwise.

I'll be honest, Higgy was unable to knock balls to Henrik or anyone else, but he can't make passes if he can't get decent service. If we are going to play route 1 football then the players providing the initial passes, ie full backs or centre halves, need to be pinpoint in their passing. On Thursday night I don't recall too many accurate passes. Too often it was hit & hopes. All that does is allow fans on here to come to the conclusion that it's all Higgy fault

Maybe not now, but I would like to think that the likes of Sandaza and Shields weren't earning much more than our top earners at their previous cubs. Kyle would have been on a good bit more at Hearts, but even they have now learnt there lesson.

Heard Stuart Cosgrove on Saturday say that Sandaza was offered £1300 a week to resign for St J for this season only to sign for Sevco for £13000 a week. Seriously silly, stupid money

  13. Outstanding result and now on the verge of an incredible achievement!

However can Stuart McCall please refrain from his patter that we could be in Champions League by "default"!His old club have broken rules and rightly been punished,MFC have done everything by the book,if that means champions league entry then fantastic.

Heard that this morning too & totally agree. Stuart McCall works for us now, his loyalties are to us & his 'default' comments adds yet more weight to the argument that we lie down to Rangers because of who our manager is. We haven't cheated to finish where we are, please remember who pays the wages Mr McCall

  14. Tough call tonight, defence was immense but in the end I went for Murphy. What a shift he put in. Also spied this description of him on the bbc

The white-hot forward took one touch after good work from Humphrey and his shot flew past the helpless Lindegaard for his third goal in Europe this season and seventh overall.

Who was the last well player to be described as white hot?? Magic

  15. Brilliant result all the players and management can take huge kudos, well done to Shaun Hutchison coming into cooper stand to see if guy hit by ball pre match was OK

A wonderful result tonight tho the start of the 2nd half was tough going. However all is forgiven. I'd also like to shaun hutchison too. Showed his class by clambering up to see the old guy.
