I read somewhere recently that said Gary Kenneth was being looked at by Birmingham, at a price of more than a million. IMHO Mark's a far better player than Kenneth, who appears to be just a big bruiser! Hope he stays next season but if not, best of luck

The only prediction that is guaranteed to be right is Buzz getting his voice slaughtered, mostly in the first half when he is down at the South Stand end.
not today...Just heard that he's been dropped in favour of Stack. Gutted, why not Ma-Kalamity in stead
-
He's just back from a serious injury if memory serves me right. There was talk of Dundee Utd looking at last season, since Levein managed him at Cowdenbeath
-
Slane's goal and Forbes' 2nd goal get better when seen from behind the goals. The strikes would have beaten any keeper
-
Or a night away from the missus
-
He had a couple of dodgy goes at goal tonight but overall played better than I expected for a first game so hope he settles in well for us and keeps trying for goals!!
Have you not mixed him up with Humphreys?
-
Hats off to WONDERWELL for the awesome timing of this thread!!
Indeed
Thought that we'd be discussing the last time we saw 2 hat-tricks by different players in the same game after Forbes struck his 2nd tonight.

Any idea if there will be any highlights on any websites?
I'd really like to see they 2 long range goals again..some strikes!
Not sure about the fishal site but the BBC and STV news before the game said that they'd have highlights on Friday's evening news. And there were cameras behind the goal in the first half

There were a couple of guys in the main stand with Coke who I believe might be trialists. Leitch was pissin himself at the McGhee chanting and probably saw what was coming so boosted
Great victory, great night. Reynolds was good getting forward in the left back role. O'Brien obviously won't make it as a right back. Jennings had a good partnership with Forbes. Forbes though was head and shoulders above both he and Lasley. Hoping to see Jennings get better up until 15th Aug. Looks like a good repelacement for Klimpl as he isn't scared to tackle. Hard to judge Humphreys as he was overshadowed totally by others around him. Some of Slane's runs were incredible. Fraser is a total bombscare. A new GK is a MUST. Sutton never scored but the number of knockdowns he produced were unreal. Hutchison, Page, and McHugh all looked solid......and WELL DONE Jamie Murphy!!!
Goal of the night for me was Forbes second. What a strike.
The strike was superb but the lay off from Sutton was magical. Forbes never had to break stride to connect. Exciting times to be a Well fan

Was worried before i got there but once the 2nd goal went in, plain sailing. How many of the starting team are really 'in-experienced' youngsters? I counted just 3 (forbes, slane and hutchison). And some of the football tonight was superb. Loved the "Are you watching Aberdeen' shout in the 1st half

Was wondering about the time out thing myself. We're knocking the ball about quite comfortably at the back. They don't look too great tbh. Plenty of possession but nothing clear cut from us yet

Spied this on the BBC this morning from that great Albanian export

In amongst all the great things about last night, one of the most significant was obviously that we broke the horrendous live TV curse.
It is often quoted that we had not won a match shown on live TV since we defeated Celtic on the last day of the 2004/5 season - May 22nd - but later that year we beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the CIS Cup Quarter Final at Fir Park on Tuesday 8th November. 4 months short of 4 years between winning live TV matches.
Glad we have got this monkey off our backs.......and it will be interesting to see how widely the media report that we are now the first Scottish team to go through a European tie after losing the first leg at home!
Stuart.
Heard Clyde 1's sports desk this morning and that wee w@*nker Keevins did indeed praise the mighty 'Well for becoming the first Scottish team to overturn a first leg deficit.
-
Does their goalie remind anyone else of Ally Maxwell or is it just me Glad to see us knocking the ball about, reminiscent of early days under MMG
-
On holiday and just heard the news. Gutted that DC has left, thought that he'd be with us forever. I'll need to break the bad news to a young 'Well fan in the morning who ain't going to a happy kid at all. Anyhoo, aw'ra'very best to you in the Championship and here's hoping you help lead us to SA and the World Cup too.

Bloke at work the other day said that Motherwell's Europa League game would feature 5 match officials as part of an experiment,. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else and wondered if anybody had heard this? Can't be true can it?
-
Luc looks like he could still do a job for us in defence let alone the dug-out! Player/ manager anyone
-
Mio and McCart would be ideal, but whether they could be presuaded to leave the TattieBowl remains to be seen, as does the prospect of MMG actually leaving.
He might surprise everyone and stay put.....

Tactics were totally pish today. MMG said that we would take the game to them in the 1st 30 mins, getting the goals early. In order for that to happen he needs to play with 3 mobile players up front. Too often Clarky was on his own, with only St Mirren defenders in the box. Sutton is as mobile as a small planet. At 1 down, why didn't MMG throw things forward like Calderwood used to do. We had nothing to lose. As for Smith, yes he saved us in the 1st half, but his lack of confidence when commanding his box is costing us. I'd blame him for the goal today before the ball fell to Reynolds. There was no urgency or drive from the team today, only Clarky looked interested but he was trying too much because no-one else could be arsed.

You would like to think after the United game that at home against, you could say ,lesser opposition we should just roll out an easy 2-0 victory.
It is NEVER that easy though eh?
I'm sure we would all have taken 4 points from United away and Falkirk at home so it makes me think we will do that, just not the way we thought and draw this game which will leave us on a bit of a downer...
Hoping I am wrong and we should just go out and pump this mob, hoping DC scores in front of the home fans too, been a while.
That's what makes following the 'Well so frustrating and magic at the same time! Falkirk haven't won in ages, we've sky high confidence following last weekend, so it'll be impossible to guess this one. Love it if we romped it and kept them firmly down in the basement.
-
dont know if he has been mentioned before, but Gordon Greer could be an option for us, did well at Killie, out of contract in the summer and a 6`2 physical centre half!!
And as long as his wage demands werent shocking, Id go for Gregorz Szamotulski in a heartbeat!
Is he not training with the hibbees but thinking about a return to tannadice? Good keeper tho....

For anyone who didn't see the Herald today,
http://www.theherald.co.uk/sport/headlines...ssing_still.php
there's a great article about Uncle Phil. As for memories, the header against ICT (??) and the run back to the half way line pumping his fist, showed why he was our captain. Definitely a case of gone but never, ever forgotten.
