  1. It looks as thoug we're playing Celtic or Sevco - we're sitting off Hearts and look petriifed of them.
  2. Its going to be a case of whether our strikers can outscore our defence.
  3. I checked at just after 6.40 and the club's Twitter account had both KVV and Tierney on the bench.
  4. Thought I'd seen a figure of £850K mentioned somewhere. Investment will reduce ongoing maintenance costs and help attract more income apparently.
  5. Reece McAlear turns out for ICT tonight and picks up a yellow card.
  6. The slope will be halved. It'll be interesting how that shapes up in relation to the stands.
  7. Yes, didn't know what to make of that. It depends on how SOD handled it.
  8. As far as the pandemic is concerned, it's had a catastrophic effect on youth development, not just for us but also for almost all Scots clubs. It's bound to have stunted young lads' development and slashed opportunities to progress to first teams. This may have a long term effect. Hopefully we'll get back to normal next season with the resumption of regular youth competitions. It's against this backdrop we should assess GA's approach to blooding youngsters.
  9. Just watched the highlights; not much to go on admittedly. We certainly seemed to show a fair bit of grit and determination. It was a case of swings and roundabouts for County - we did to them what they did to us previously. The penalty? TV angle was very poor and its hard to be definitive, but I got the impression that KVV was slightly too fast for Lacovitti and nicked in front of him and got caught. Maybe other posters had a far better view though. Its the kind of challenge we've been punished for umpteen times through penalties conceded or red cards issued. From the limited TV clips it seemed like we were really under the cosh for the final part of the game - full backs withdrew into our box and midfield also retreated allowing County to rain in cross after cross and have unimpeded pots at goal. I did feel sorry for Kelly. Fortunately they were toothless and their recent long run of good luck deserted them. We have to take into account though our lengthy absentee list (Mugabi, McGinley, Johansen, Maguire, Grimshaw?, Woolery, Roberts) with KVV and Slattery not well enough to start. A perfect opportunity for County to beat and indeed demoralise close rivals; but one which ultimately they weren't good enough to take. At the business end of the season the result was all that mattered.
  10. Nadir Ciftci on the bench again for St Johntone. He's only made 5 appearances since signing for them in January and has failed to score in any of those.
  11. So chuffed for the fans who made the game today after many of us fell over ourselves to get the misery right. Safe journey home.
  12. It's called karma. What goes around comes around. Yes.
  13. I think St Johnstone may pay a bit more than us but not 100% certain. It may be that they push the boat out a bit more for certain targets. Happy to be corrected though.
  14. They're playing quite well just now but have enjoyed an incredible run of good luck underpinned by a number of soft penalties. I don't care if they're up for it or not so long as we get a bit of good luck and take the 3 points.
  15. Pretty much my view. I'll renew to help the club I love as I always have done. For me the jury is still out on GA.
  16. I see former players now at Dunfermline (Chalmers, Polworth and Lawless) haven't impressed their fans.
  17. I don't know what his objectives are but here goes. Avoid relegation- tick. Top six - tick. Quarter final of a cup - tick. Transfer income - too early to tell. Youth development - impossible to say given current Covid arrangements. Euro Place- can't tell yet.
  18. That exactly my take. He's ticked his boxes this season, although its been achieved in a very peculiar way. Although the Directors will be very aware of the support's concerns he'll be given a chance to reshape the squad in the summer, hopefully by strengthening our areas of weakness. If we have a poor start to the season and that continues into the autumn he's more likely to go.
  19. The problem is that we've had a horrible run of bad luck for some time now. I'm not normally one to believe in luck but things have certainly gone against us.
  20. Another typical Tannadice performance and result. Despite our bad run we should be good enough to finish 6th.
  21. Yes, our record up there is poor. I've seen a good few decent Well sides go there, play a poor United side off the park and end up losing. It's not a ground at which you get many penalties either. Let's change all that today.
  22. I think you're right. He comes across as uninspiring and lack lustre in interviews, but believe me he can get quite animated during games and can shout and roar with the best of them (I sit not far from the "dugouts").
  23. I quite understand that our midfield is largely playing to the manager's instructions. While in possession its ok to bypass the midfield, if thats our choice; but its very different if the opposition choose to play through the midfield. I'm no tactician but does our midfield then not sit too deep when under attack? Obviously you don't want a gap between the midfield and central defence. It may also be of course that the central defence sits too deep.
  24. Its not impossible that Ricki Lamie could do a U turn and re-sign if Dundee go down.
  25. Just watched the highlights myself and I have to say that was never a penalty.
