My thoughts exactly. GA certainly did not seem too happy afterwards and highlighted the players "mindset" or mentality if you like. He was also right to highlight that its not the first time this has happened ie the Sevco hammering. Like many things in life, I'm sure there were other reasons for our wild drop off in form yesterday, but yes the players' mentality was a major factor. I suspect he's now asking questions like has the club signed the right players? Its ok being talented but if your mindset is wrong...... I'd like to think that we'll bolster the midfield next month with not one (Tierney) but at least 2 new faces. Liam Donnelly is proving to be very injury prone; Robbie Crawford, Barry Maguire and Mark O'Hara are not setting the heather on fire. Liam Grimshaw is not a midfielder. That leaves young Dean Cornelius. Its wrong to pin too much responsibilty on his shoulders but he's due his chance. Anyway, I think GA has identified the problem.

I don't think Dundee's decision has anything to do with Covid. They have previous for being "awkward" with tickets.

I think you're taking Spiderpig's comment slightly out of context. Teams don't win cups solely through good luck, but any team winning a trophy has to have an element of good luck to do so. Likewise you don't win cups through having talent alone, nor character alone.

Willie Collum had a poor game yesterday. Totally inconsistent from start to finish. Quite how he never carded Baninghime for hauling down rugby style one of our guys who was breaking forward I'll never know. Cameron Devlin? Its been many many years since I've seen a player commit so many without being booked. He should have been sent off. I counted 9 offences given against him. One bad tackle deserved a yellow in its own right. Persistent fouling Willie - have you heard of it? He should also have been carded when he venomously lashed the ball against a prostrate Goss well after play was stopped right under Collum's nose. Hearts were fortunate to finish with 10 men. Perhaps Gordon and Neilson were protesting at the finish that Devlin should've gone for an early bath? Probably not.

A great peformance and result yesterday. It was perhaps our best peformance for quite some time. I, and many others, were expecting us to concede possession and sit back in our usual way inviting crosses. However our up and at em style and high press caught us all by surprise and obviously Robbie Neilson too. I expected him to change things at half time but he didn't. The second half continued in the same vein as the first. I'm surprised that our possession stat was clearly less than 50%. It was a good all round team performance with no failures. I was esepcailly pleased for Mugabi, McGinley and Shields. The former's surging runs and high press caused Hearts continual problems and it was McGinley's best game for us. He made one crucial tackle to deny Hearts and didn't lose one header all day. Great to see Shields get off the mark and he ran and ran all day, hassling the Hearts rearguard. He showed why we gave him a 3 year deal. I suspect he's less talented than Van Veen but quicker and more consistent. The defence in general was very solid and Lamie is now showing proving more reliable. Midfield played a lot better and Goss's deliveries are proving very dangerous to opposing defences. Kelly had little to do, due to our defence. Boyce produced a good finish by anybody's standard but Kelly's quick thinking save to deny him was even better. Credit to GA for changing things and to the players for producing their best performance of the season.

An important 3 points to halt the slide. Not great viewing though. Hopefully we can keep our head above water until January and then strengthen midfield. Always good to beat the Dons although the BBC red and white mafia won't be happy with us.

Absolutely. Some of his early teams would have been chronically dire to watch for many modern generations fans. Expectations were far lower in those days and for most fans a win was sufficient entertainment. Promotion of the English Premeir League has changed all of that.

Where referees are concerned anything goes. Its not unknown for a referee to tell his linesmen before kick off that he won't truck any advice......stick to shies, by kicks, corners and offsides.

Same could be said for Liam Kelly. Crosses are the weak point of his game but we actively invite them as part of our game plan.

This is it for me. We didn't play well for the first 42 minutes and made exactly the same mistakes, and had exactly the same weaknesses, as we did and had in the remainder of the game. It was only a matter of time before Sevco scored but few of us would have predicted the team would crumble as it did. For much of the game our strikers played in midfield or deeper so why not select midfielders to play there? We seemed determined to cram all of our players in our own box at times and that sums up our attitude. Not good enough.

I'm afraid that this result is down to the manager, pure and simple. Our weaknesses today have been discussed ad nauseum for months on this board. Nothing new except the opposition showed clinical finshing up front, which others haven't. I don't mind us playing boring football as long as its effective but our brand isn't. Graham Alexander is fast losing the backing of the fans and thats never a good sign.
