  1. Yes, 4-3-3 is causing us problems. Our midfield plays too deep and our strikers are forced to play deeper to compensate for them.
  2. Problem is that Polworth needs hard working, physical players around him to allow him to play and right now we don't have them.
  3. One of those days. One of those cases where we were beaten before kick off. A learning experience for GA. Only Watt and Cole and get pass marks for me. When we invite teams onto us and defend deeply, all manner of things can go wrong in our box as we saw today.
  4. They might be defensively minded players but the problem is they can't defend.
  5. Why was Magloire yellow carded and Callachan wasn't ?
  6. Our set pieces today have been shocking.
  7. No, we've seen similar fouls in the game so far but they didn't attract any red cards.
  8. Players have been poor; but many of our problems stem from the 4-3-3 set up, lack of squad rotation since Wednesday, and the tactic of inviting Accies on to us.
  9. You certainly can't blame the strikers; they've been on a hiding to nothing.
  10. They looked as if they'd downed tools at 3.00pm
  11. Very often when a team goes down to 10 men they show fight and grit , but not us today. We've collapsed.
  12. Midfield and strikers sitting far too deep. Can't match Accies energy and work rate so far.
  13. We have the better players on paper but we need to match their work rate and be more streetwise. That will enrage the purists but if that's what it takes......
  14. Dundee United fans would also agree with your post Ped. Our tame media should take him to task but that will never happen.
  15. Presumably tv coverage this year comes at no cost whatsoever to season ticket holders should they so choose?
  16. Just Tony Watt? As usual, Accies will be fired up for this and we won't be able to match them physically, so we need to box clever; wise up, get streetwise. We need to try to play football and if we're really up against it, facing ranks of defenders holding onto a single goal lead, we have the option of bringing on a 6-5 striker and firing high balls to him. No point in firing high balls to Chris Long etc. The first goal will be important and there's no reason why we shouldn't score it. This time round we have a better keeper and a steadier team.
  17. A great result last night and very satisfying after the original postponement. It was a very important win and the players showed bottle. As others have said it was all about the result and not the performance. GA has certainly steadied the ship and we do look more solid now albeit with plenty of scope to im prove. The shocking pitch would not have helped anyone trying to play football, thats for sure. Performance wise, our possession stats at 41% were once again poor but thats something that can be workerd on, if not now then in the longer term. Killie may have had the bulk of the possession but they were toothless up front and/or maybe our central defence coped with anything they threw at us. Although we were on the backfoot for much of the game, we created the better chances and took one. Good to see Lamie & Mugabi being dominant at the back. Our goal was well worked, starting from Carroll, who saw an opportunity, through Watt to campbell who finished well, again. A good evening, now lets see if we can maintain this run.
  18. If the process was carried out properly, the possibility of a successful appeal would be very unlikely and for a case to be taken to the Court of Session (on a legal technicality) in this sort of situation would be very costly; circa £60-70K I'd think, and unlikely to succeed. An application could be approved contrary to the Local Development Plan, although thats not easy but rezoning when the Plan is reviewed should be straightforward. You're right, in that the Council would be keen for the club to move to a marquee development on a large brownfield site, such as Ravenscraig. In the case in which I was involved, the Planning authority was happy for the club concerned to sell its ground for retail uses providing that it identified and developed a feasible new site not far from the existing stadium.
  19. Fair comment about a futre move which is my preference, other things being equal. Yes it is zoned for recreational use but that can be changed, ideally through the next iteration of the Local Development Plan. I doubt that the Council would be overly concerned, providing that we had a replacement site in place ie. Ravenscraig. Housing would be the best option for a new land use. In reply to Joewarkfanclub surely the East Stand is way older than 30 years? I seem to remember it being in existence since the late 1950s, albeit with no seats.
  20. Whats sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Award us the 3-0 win.
