  1. No-one should be shocked at Thelin being sacked. After yesterday's result it was odds on. Have they/will they approach JBA? Who knows. Will he approach them ? Again who knows. If there is interest from either side then our Board will have no say in the matter. Thats not to say he would be interested, but money talks and he could double or treble his salary with them. Time will tell. The first test of his mettle. Anyways he can't leave for both Celtic and Aberdeen.
  2. Rumours on P & B that Callum Hendry has picked up a serious injury; hence his absence from today's squad. Add to that Stama being on the bench and Sule's return to WBA, and you do get the feeling that moves are afoot to bring in another striker.
  3. A hint of bitterness there. I get that. Having said that, many visiting managers say that about St Mirren. They thrive on stifling opponents' games and suffocating them. Whats sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
  4. A very good win to follow on from the high of Tuesday. Cracking crowd as well. Pleased that St Mirren were rewarded for their anti football approach. 2 young lads also given a few minutes at the end. Whats not to like?
  5. Anything the Sun can do badly, the Rancid can do just as badly it would seem.
  6. Ewan Wilson's loan to Raith extended to end of season.
  7. This one is too close to call. The first goal will be crucial as Saints will defend deeply and rely on breakaways or set pieces. We and JBA know how they will play. If we defend well the worst we will get is a draw but getting a goal won't be easy. I'll take any kind of goal.
  8. According to the Sun, Sevco is interested in Eliott Watt. Given our financial health and length of his deal, I can't see us accepting any bid in this window unless its a huge offer, which is very unlikely. He's more likely to attract wider interest in the summer.
  9. Sounds like we are happy with cancelling his loan. Starting to clear the decks?
  10. I see that the Herald is touting JBA for the Celtic vacancy, which as yet doesn't exist. Thats it now on the banned list. They wouldn't do that if a Scots manager was in post at Parkhead; highly unlikely one would be of course.
  11. I hope the Board is working behind the scenes to improve JBA's deal. They will be well aware of circling buzzards or red kites.
  12. Has this explanation been used before? In many previous cases of ours, VAR has been involved in many finely balanced decisions that were neither clear nor obvious.
  13. Yes, the key for us, is to get that all important first goal and disrupt, if not obliterate, their gameplan. As others have said, this will be a very different game to last night's and St Mirren will focus on disrupting our normal gameplan. A little bit of good luck will be very welcome on Saturday.
  14. Amazing result and performance. A long overdue win against Celtic and we did it in style. A healthy crowd too. Now we need fo focus on St Mirren.
  15. Yes, an interesting choice Ally. Incidentally STV thinks that the game is at Parkhead as we are the "visitors".
  16. The King has returned to Dingwall. Official.
  17. Seemingly Regan Charles Cook will be out for a few weeks. The extent of his injury is being assessed.
  18. Over the decades, I've seen both halves of the gruesome twosome benefit consistently from poor officiating. No difference whatsoever between them. There's a number of reasons for that, all of which have been covered here. VAR is not at fault; its the poor officiating behind it. That won't change
  19. Hibs are trying desperatley to land Dykes. Don't know much about young Wilson.
