A bit negative maybe but a good bit of truth in what you say. An odd looking line up, but at the end of the day we won and that was the important thing. It affords us some breathing space. I thought we started off well and could have scored a few. Once Livi scored against the run of play though, we looked a bit shaken, but fortunately recovered to restore our 2 goal lead. The second half was absolutely dire. I get that we should have adopted a slightly more cautious approach and let Livi come out a bit more but we sat back a bit too much and made it easy for them, albeit they looked poor and didn't trouble Kelly, although they troubled the woodwork. A better team would have punished us. A good team effort and I thought Bair was excellent - his second goal was an absolute peach and would not have been out of place in the English Premier League. McGinn added some stability to our rearguard. I'm not sure what Shaw added to the team though and I hardly noticed him. Livi’s regulation goal was very soft and similar to one we conceded to Dundee a few weeks ago. On the negative side, we lost almost every aerial battle and the midfield struggled to compete, which wasn't a surprise, given the set up. I thought that the referee was very weak and inconsistent especially with yellow cards. He was well worked by Livingston who adopted their trademark physical and streetwise approach – that’s all they have in their locker. Bair was unlucky not to score a hat trick and we’ve seen similar efforts given in the recent past, where the “offending player” wasn’t interfering with play.

A few rumours doing the rounds that Wikinson and perhaps even Shaw could be leaving shortly. According to SK we are looking to bring in 2 new faces and perhaps slighlty more if someone leaves. I'd like to see the midfield and defence bolstered but it all depends on who is available of course.

I agree Smiddy. A draw simply isn't good enough. The Board is working hard to improve its image to future managers and its succeeding. However the revolving door of recent managerial changes reflects badly on their selection procedures. If SK goes it isn't giving any new manager much time in the transfer window unless a replacement has already been identified, which I very much doubt.

We'll forgive him seeing its against Partick Thistle.

I think an inconclusive draw is the most likely outcome on Saturday. We have trouble keeping clean sheets and Livi have trouble scoring. Any kind of win will do though.
-
That's shocking. SPFL should reimburse costs but will they hell!
-
Good result for us. Saints don't pull away and Livi only gain a single point.
-
Game should have been called off some time ago. A disgrace.
-
Travel in rural Aberdeenshire is also very problematic. Not just rain but snow too. Game needs to be called off.
-
Yes, you'd think so.
-
I'd hope so. Will probably depend on the precise wording of the agreement. It might only be a percentage of what Celtic make over and above the original fee.

I interpret that behaviour as sarcastic criticism of our own team, if you get my meaning. I recall one guy at Starks Park last year shouting constantly about a glaring weakness in our defence, which was exposed time and again. Nothing was done by SH to correct it and when Raith eventually scored because of it he clapped them and shouted something like "Well done, who didn't see that coming?". Sheer frustration. Yes, it looks and sounds bad but folk show disappointment and frustration in different ways.

Dundee? Kilmarnock?
-
100% yes. Slattery is capable of much better but for whatever reason we're not getting the best out of him. Paton looks to be a squad player at best and we haven't seen much of Davor. Spittal? His lack of pace and mobility is a major weakness in his game. Not without talent, his lack of an engine means that despite being given an attacking role, he can't support a striker or strikers and thats one of the main reasons for the front men often being isolated in games. We were warned about that deficiency in his game by County fans.
-
A draw would be a decent result. No less than a win on Saturday though.

I know what you're saying but, we had Conor Wlkinson saying a few weeks ago that he was asked to play in midfield for the first time in his career and he didn't know what he was supposed to be doing. Merry Christmas to all.

That to me is the biggest difference. Work rate and organisation.

Thats all it is. It proves nothing. What if the Motherwell captain or one/someof our players in that game was also in the brotherhood? Tiny was a good referee, one of the best I've seen.
-
Fair enough. Did you vote in the recent elections and have you informed the Society of the reasons for your dissatisfaction?
-
Ah Tiny Wharton.
-
Pretty much agree with that. You have to ask why SK hasn't selected Gent and Spencer, as starters, until the last couple of games or so.
-
You'd think so, but their judgement over the past 2/3 years hasn't been impressive.
-
I'll add to the list. How many fans, including Dundee ones, had heard of Tony Docherty before he landed the Dens job? How many of us had heard of Stephen Robinson? The club and agents will have a far better idea than we do, as they have access to a lot more information. Anyone knowing Stevie Hammell, i.e. Stepehen Craigan would have been very surprised at his appointment. Not all of these names were/are successful of course but it just shows how left field names land jobs. This winless run simply can't go on much longer.

Not all managers in work have contracts. Some have release clauses. I simply don't know who is available. Who on here would have come up with names like Jim Gannon, Ian Baraclough, Graham Alexander or Nick Montgomery?

They're getting worse Grizzly. 🤣
