A thoroughly entertaining watch last night with no failures at all right through the team. The last hour was a masterclass in how to play against 10 men, something we have really struggled to do for quite a few seasons now. If I was being really picky, we ended up trying too many fancy flicks and tricks when there were better options available, I did laugh out loud when Said did that jump though. On another note, the BBC match report claims that the shot handled by Hanley for the Penalty "with Just prodding the ball against the outstretched hand of Hanley from close range." David Grey claimed " "The shot is clearly going miles wide. Grant hasn't made himself any bigger, he's not even trying to block the shot." A statement later repeated in a different BBC story about the Livingstone non-penalty on Saturday. It would seem too much to hope the BBC would at least watch the playback of the incident before spouting cack like that, their own highlights show that lie up for what it is,

Plus 6 minutes extra time in the first half equals 90.😁
-
Priestman for me. Just Welsh, McGinn & Watt were great and Koutroumbis deserves a mention for that clearance plus his general all round play on the wrong side.
-
Typically about 43 or 44, over the last ten years or so it has been as low as 40 and as high as 50.
-
Elliot Watt, the goal capped an outstanding performance. Always available to receive the ball and defensively solid. Slattery was very good too, and was still sprinting at 90 minutes, a coincidence that these last two performances have come with his return? I think not.
-
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
-
I went with Watt, he is integral to the style we are playing. Welsh, O'Donnell and Ward all worthy of mention.
-
With the possible exception of the following year when JPR Gordon gave Rangers a penalty when fat Derek tripped over his own feet about 20 yards from the box. If we had beaten Airdrie we would have got the green scum in the final, a dreadful Hearts team awaited us the next year, I suspect a cup win would have been more likely the second year. Plus that team really deserved to win something. But aye, I know what you mean.

I had John Goldthorpe and Jumbo Muir, plus, on at least one occasion, Keith MacRae. Good but not what was to come.
-
One of our all time greats (IMHO), those of us of a certain vintage got to witness something special when he and Pettigrew were terrorising defences. RIP Bobby.
-
You watched a different game from me. Our new style really suits S O'D.

I was trying to remember who the other goalie we had at that time was and I saw Scott Howie mentioned in the managers thread. Turns out Woods wasn't even the worst keeper we had at the club when he was playing for us, never mind an all time worst.
-
I didn't say he was good just not the worst we have had before or since. For me, and most of my age group, John Gardner wins that vote by a distance. His very name still causes me to break out in a cold sweat.
-
6 feet 2, and no matter what age you are he was far from the worst goalie we have had,
-
How do you know he doesn't speak the language? If he is as well prepared and advised as I suspect he is, he has probably been learning Italian for at least 6 months.

Are they twins?

I think my memory is of internal transfers, eg, Ferguson from Accies to Aberdeen. As I said, I may be wrong.
-
I think you pronounce his name cheating bast@rd, just in case anyone was in any doubt.
-
I may be wrong about this (I usually am) but I think when the compensation scheme was introduced, the fee was based on what the selling club offered as a salary to the departing player and not what the buying club were offering, This gives a huge advantage to the "big" club, but, hey-ho, who wants to upset the apple cart.

I worked in Glasgow for more than 40 years and knew many "fans" of both arse cheeks who had never set foot inside the stadium of their chosen club. The original point was that this fan had no knowledge of the group stages in the League cup despite his club's participation very recently. Or to put it another way, wind yer neck in.
-
They were possibly down the leagues then, he wouldn't have been supporting them at that point.
-
The use of VAR now makes sense, Villa can hold a minutes silence in the 666th minute of the opening league game this season.

That was rather better than I expected tonight. The first half hour was a slicker version of last week and we were arguably a bit lucky to get to half time all square after falling off the pace for the last 15 minutes. We started the second half well and although the finish was scrappy, the build up to the opener had a lot of quality about it. I thought we were starting to defend too deeply and we would be under pressure for the rest of the game but the second goal settled us and we started plating well again. I'm not sure the pass for the 2nd goal was intended for Maswanhise but he controlled it and finished beautifully As for the third goal, just wooft!

It is .87 of a foot, there are 12 inches in a foot so 12 x 0.872 = 5 feet and 10 and a half inches. one advantage of being old is you can think in metric and imperial.
