  1. Only a couple of candidates for me, KVV added some urgency and a small amount of skill but took the wrong option a few times. Tierney made an impact and I look forward to seeing how he develops. Slattery impressed too when he came on. My vote goes to Maguire though, he didn't hide, tried to play the ball forward when he could and was always moving whether with or without the ball. Had it gone to a penalty shoot out I would have voted Kelly.
  2. I remember the Sam Goodwin ordering off after about 90 seconds. I remember the Willie Watson winner at Firhill, deep in extra time. I think it was on a Monday night because there were no penalty shoot outs then, 90 minutes, then a replay with ET, followed by a replay at a neutral venue plus ET, ad infinitum. I can't remember if the two matches were the same season though. No memory of a leg break. Forgive me, I'm old.
  3. Agreed, and should secure us a wedge if he is poached.
  4. Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
  5. I won't, I wouldn't give $ky any of my hard earned cash, all they do is squander it by giving it to the EPL.
  6. Having looked at that link, it would suggest that they expect a goal per 8(ish) shots at goal, whether it is a two foot tap in or a forty yard effort that clears the stand. Looks like their statistical analysis is even more absurd than I thought at first reading.
  7. They are predicting we should score 1.06 goals per game, after 20 matches that should be 21, we have scored 25. They are predicting 1.86 goals against, after 20 games that should be 37 goals, we have conceded 27. That suggests to me that the statisticians they have employed aren't very good. Or to put it another way, there are lies, damned lies and statistics, this site seems like proof of that.
  8. You may be in the minority but you are not alone, he was giving 100% before this story started circulating and I see no reason why that should change if he is given a chance to play. That is what I don't get, why the rush to sign now when he could walk away at the end of the season anyway, it stops the discussion about signing a new deal with us but just opens up a different discussion re playing with us if no offer from Dundee U is forthcoming / agreed. Not playing for us or not settling quickly at DU also blows away any hopes he has of a Scotland call up and a potential World Cup appearance. That all said, if the £4k a week is true, and we offered £3k ( made up number, I have no idea), then that is and annual pay rise of £52k per annum, significantly more than my salary. I know what I would do if someone offered me a £52k a year rise.
  9. A day that will live with me forever.
  10. I know this will look like I'm picking on you, but: I work in Glasgow Royal Infirmary and pre-pandemic the ICU capacity was 20 beds, technically 15 ICU beds and 5 SHDU, when Covid first hit we expanded into two other areas giving a potential capacity of 36 beds. We also doubled the available ventilators from 16 to 32. The maximum number of Covid patients we had was 19 with 10 of the original 20 beds left available for non-covid patients. Currently there are about a dozen patients in ICU, two of which are Covid, the overflow areas are still set up if required. I cannot speak for all the other ICUs in Scotland but I would be astonished if they had not taken similar steps. I do agree that a lot of other conditions are, whilst not being ignored, are not receiving the urgency they require. I also agree that successive governments have treated the NHS in a disgraceful manner.
  11. We were never getting more than 500 after the announcement on Tuesday, whether the game was played on Boxing day or sometime in January. Celtic want the Rangers game off because they are hammered by injuries and they are scared to lose ground on the blue uglies. I just don't understand why you blame Burrows for everything, did he pish on your chips?
  12. Aye, very good. Do you not think that if Sky made the decision then the Arse cheeks game would be going ahead? It's obvious you don't like Mr Burrows but at least try and be rational in your hatred please.
  13. I enjoyed that today, a couple are saying "winning when not playing well", but I thought we controlled that very comfortably. Kelly only had one real save and but for a couple of bad decisions by KVV and Woolery, we could have been out of site by half time. I'm normally a nervous observer, but I was never worried today once the second goal went in. I wish we would keep playing when we are leading though, we just seemed to be happy with what we had with 15-20 minutes left and against a better team, that could have made for a more nervous finish. That said, I think we are almost at the stage when we can think top six which I didn't see happening after the league cup games.
  14. Sondre for me, won everything and brings a calming influence at the back. I considered Cornelius, KVV and Bevis. No great failures today.
  15. I like it. Plus, played one, won one, clean sheets one, seems like the perfect strip to me.
  16. I remember us beating them 4-0 in the late 80s or early 90s, it was 4-0 at half time and I think we could have got to double figures if Davie Cooper hadn't spent the second half taking the piss out of their right back.
  17. Woolery for me, I considered Watt and Mugabi but stuck with my original pick. Hopefully we haven't seen the best of him yet.
  18. Very good performance all round, especially taking the conditions into consideration. Kelly had little to do thanks to Sol and Lamie, Mugabi was outstanding, the middle three seem to work very well together. The work rate of Watt, KVV and Woolery is astonishing. We should have been out of sight by the time the red card was given and even when we were down to ten men United barely had a sniff. I thought the ref could have shown a bit more common sense in the conditions although I don't think we can complain too much about Maguire's two yellows. All in all a good night's work.
  19. Ricky Lamie for me. Kelly and the back four were all good, the midfield all worked hard and the front three were perpetual motion but Lamie was immense and his goal was the icing on the cake.
  20. You must have been watching a different game to Robbie Nielson, he thinks Hearts had comfortably the best chances in the first half. Or to put it another way, Fud as a player, worse as a manager.
  21. Sadly, that is 100% true. One of my former work colleagues was the father of a Glasgow Herald sports journo who quit his job to write books because he was fed up with his stories being spiked due to an imbalance of blue ugly / green ugly stories for that edition and being told to find a story to balance things up. If that was the Herald, I hate to think what the red tops were like.
  22. Yes, but other than that, what have the Romans done for us?
  23. Quite a few options yesterday, I went for Johansen, a composed performance throughout. KVV a close second.
  24. Your opinion, and you watched it on TV I presume, but from the Cooper stand, Brown looked way out of control and if Carrol's challenge against Dundee is a red card (and I think it was) then Brown's was absolutely identical (in my opinion). All about opinions though.
