  1. As I said, I can see a change in television money distribution, but I'll be very, very suprised if we ever see Celtic, or any other club, being asked to split their home gate with anyone.
  2. I doubt it. There's not much point, is there?
  3. Time to dig those season ticket renewal forms out and get them filled in I reckon...
  4. Whilst the loss of Rangers will certainly see the opportunity for the regulations that run our game to be changed, anyone who believes that we'll simply be able to start telling Celtic how shit is from now on is deluded. There won't be an even split on gate receipts. Not a fucking chance.

He may as well make an appearance, he'll be at the club shop anyway.
  6. You can't expect him to say anything else really. He's wanting his investment to operate where they can generate most money.

Whoever is running this Facebook event page, can they possibly delete the posts that have been made recently? All the stuff by this Shaun Gibson fella is only going to put people off & confuse folk. We'll probably have hardly enough fans showing up as it is without this kind of nonsense putting folk off. EDIT: As Jay said.

Unless he's a goonball. The last thing we need is Old Firm fans getting involved, as that'll do nothing but drive Motherwell fans away from this thing in my opinion.

I've checked his profile, he's a Celtic fan. I thought this was a Motherwell demo organised primarily for Motherwell fans, no? What's he doing telling people what this is a page for?

Who's this Shaun Gibson 1888 fella?
  11. I'm not saying they wouldn't, I'm just saying that I don't think we're entitled to half of Celtic (or anyone else's) home ticket allowance. The television money comes into the league as a whole, thus should be evenly split among the clubs, but the attendance is different in my eyes. I only want my club to get what they deserve, not to be leeching from Celtic because they happen to have more fans through the gate than us.
  12. How much did they charge the last time they did it?
  13. I'm a fan of the television money being split more evenly, but I understand why the likes of Celtic wouldn't want their home games gate money being split 50/50.
  14. I would disagree there. If he doesn't see a move that he wants in the summer I'd happily see him sign on until January then take it from there. I think having someone of his ability will only help our European quest.
  15. Does anyone have any idea what the price will be like roughly?

I imagine that a few well-worded emails to the local press will ensure a few media are there. Maybe even the likes of the Record in case they fancy covering it as well.
  17. More to the point, it's completely unverifiable now, isn't it? Typical media nonsense.
  18. Wouldn't this be something that the relevant clubs supporters trusts could get sorted?
  19. I figured I may have started the protest thread a tad early, and maybe should have waited until the club announce the date of the meeting. From what I hear it'll be next week at the latest.
  20. Rangers & Celtic will end up playing each other in "friendlies" if the NEWCO gets bumped, and you can bet that Sky will cover these games.
  21. I just read that part, and have to point out that you're talking shite, it never read anything like that. I'm not steelmenonline, and have never claimed to represent anyone other than myself. As I said, it was suggested that we have too many threads on the subject, so I had a look and found that 99% of the stuff in each threads was the same as the stuff in the other threads, so I merged them. We have two NEWCO threads now, one relating to the club and one for general news on the situation. As I also said, I didn't take into account the poll, and can add another if you wish. I doubt the results will be any different.
  22. There were some who wanted the various threads merged, and some who didn't. As I said, there was pretty much the exact same conversation going on in every thread, which is pointless. The various threads were starting to blur into each other. Also, it won't be long before we get a decision, which will no doubt see a new thread or two to discuss the results. I take on board your point about the poll, and can add another if you feel so strongly about it. I'm sure the same people who voted in it will be back online over the next few days so they can simply vote again.
  23. C'mon, the poll was always going to have the same result. Most folk saying no to NEWCO, whilst one or two saying yes. As for the merger, having scanned through the threads I even saw some instances of the exact same person making the exact same point in two threads! It all covered the same stuff, and I have no doubt that once a decision is reached either way we'll see a new thread to discuss the actual results of it all. We'll end up with one thread pre-decision, and one thread post-decision, which seems about right I reckon.
  24. Fair point. The chat in all of the NEWCO threads seems to be going over the same ground each time, so they've been merged. Should make it easy to keep up with whats being said and so forth. There's now a on-topic thread discussing it as far as Motherwell goes, and an off-topic thread discussing the matter in general.
