  1. I'm not sure what kind of display you guys have planned, but would it not be possible to ask the club if we could cover the unused seats in the main stand with flags and stuff rather than have them sitting empty?
  2. I'm fairly certain there'll be streams of the game available online. If you pop into this thread closer to gametime there'll be links posted I'd reckon.
  3. Having checked his stats and so forth he certainly fits the bill as the type of player we should be after. Has some potential, still young, with some sell-on potential further down the line. Anyone know what kind of compo would be required to take him, out of curiosity?
  4. So, they're staying at the Dakota, are they? Right, who's all up for getting some musical instruments, metal binlids, hammers and other assorted noise-makers and heading round there later tonight to ensure they get a good nights sleep?
  5. None of them play for this mob though. The fact that they haven't been paid and that the country is facing financial meltdown could easily foster a "if they aren't paying us, then fuck them" mentality. At least that's what I hope anyway.
  6. If we did get through to the group stages (and I know fine well that we most likely won't), it would be a major shock for the Scottish football landscape. With Rangers sliding down the leagues it would open a real opportunity for us to claim the 2nd force in the SPL slot for a few years at least, provided the money we would get is spent wisely and we kicked on from there. It won't happen though, but that's my take on such a fantasy situation arising.
  7. Yeah, it's mainly having it only come out of one speaker that's bothering me.
  8. Any update on the number of tickets sold thus far?
  9. I notice that the commentary during highlights and suchlike is still only working through the left audio speaker. Anyone got any idea why this is?
  10. Any idea how much the tickets to the actual game will cost?
  11. I'd certainly hope so. The idea of sitting at home listening to the game on MFCTV depresses me.
  12. The closer this game gets the more optimistic I become. I have a feeling I may be setting myself up for a fall.
  13. Is there any chance of this game being called off with all this rain? What kind of shape is that pitch in?
  14. Nice one, should be a decent little warm-up game. Not far away as well, which is a bonus.
  15. An excellent gesture. Well done to those involved.

Even if he was all over the back pages tomorrow morning with a Celtic shirt on whilst hugging Lennon I'd still want him to play on Saturday. He's Hammells's friend, and will bring attention to the game. It has fuck all to do with him playing for Motherwell in the future.

If someone had asked me to guess which two posters were "not bothered" by McFadden playing on Saturday I'd have picked MJC and Steelboy. One is easily the most depressing person I've seen grace a football forum, and the other is probably still crying about his big team playing in division 3. Why don't the both of you just lighten up and relax? It's a game that is intended to put some cash into the pocket of a player who really deserves it, and having McFadden playing will hopefully pull some more punters into the stadium. Buy a ticket, go along and have a good time.
  18. The commentary will be probably.
  19. I don't think it's sensible to be looking for anything other than a top six finish and maybe a decent cup run. We do have the bonus of some European football this season as well, which is good.
  20. What does a dish usually served in the English midlands have to do with anything?
  21. I agree completely that the television money should be split more evenly, but it's all too easy to say that we want a share of the gate money when our average attendance sees us ranked seventh in a league of twelve. Even if this was brought up for a vote under a new democratic system I doubt we'd see positive responses from the likes of Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs or Dundee United.

I doubt it. The club will source volunteers for such a thing I'd reckon.
  23. Maybe we can try and use one of the many other Newco/Rangers threads for discussing that subject and get this thread back to us moaning about our lack of transfer activity? Every time I log on and see this thread has been bumped I get the fear that one of our few first team regulars has been punted, only to see chat about Dundee and Sky TV deals. I'm not sure how much my heart can take to be honest
  24. It appears that the ins/outs thread is veering off topic, so I thought a general chit-chat thread for anything Motherwell-related to the Newco situation post-Division 3 announcement would be an idea. As much as I'd like to believe that Sky will honour the original contract I can't see them doing that, and I wouldn't blame them if they didn't. They're in the business of making money, and why they would want to pay the same price for what they will see as an inferior product is beyond me. An SPL without Rangers in it is less attractive to virtually every non-Scottish football fan who follows our game and doesn't support one of the other SPL clubs. The sad thing is, if Sky do decide they wish to renegotiate the original terms of the contract there'll be no doubt that it'll be them who face the flak, when it should actually be those in charge of our game who marketed the whole SPL around two clubs in the first place. The fact that there is even talk of there being a termination clause in the television contract should either one of the Old Firm clubs fall out of the SPL is ridiculous. Our chairmen were the ones who signed that contract, and as such should be held completely responsible if it comes back to bite us in the backside.
  25. I'm hoping that yesterdays result won't cause any kneejerk posts in this thread. Basically, what are your expectations going into the new season? Despite the whole Rangers/doomsday carry-on we've seen over the close season I can honestly say that my expectations are the same as always. I think we should be looking at cementing a top six place in the league. Anything above that is a bonus. I also hope to get a decent run in one of the domestic cups. By that I mean maybe a quarter final or something. As far as Europe goes, I have no real expectations there apart from the players giving 100% and giving us something to cheer about at some point.
