  1. Exactly. I'm pretty much in the same boat.
  2. I see the Record are punting the idea of McFadden moving to Celtic; They've even provided the following photo with the article, just to make sure that the message gets across.
  3. I personally wouldn't mind seeing Reynolds back at the club, if his wage request wasn't too much for our budget of course. We have a history of players leaving us only to return and do quite well...
  4. It certainly looks better in the flesh, so to speak.
  5. Being as this is a non-story, I figured that the bigger question may be the one that heads this thread. By my reckoning McCall signed a two & a half year deal in January of 2011, which means he's now seventeen months into his current deal. Is it time to see if he's willing to sign an extension? If we leave it until into next season he'll be eating into his final year, won't he? I don't need that kind of grief in my life to be honest.
  6. My problem isn't with Rangers actions, but it could be with how our club and the brass at the SPL decide to deal with it. You seem unable to grasp the fact my issue is with how our club and the SPL deal with the Rangers situation, not what Rangers actually do from here on in. If the situation eventually calls for a vote on Rangers stance in the SPL, or their transfer of shares to a NEWCO, and our club votes against Rangers being allowed to slide then I'll happily continue my support. If our club decides to take part in any sweeping under the carpet of the Rangers issue in favour of some breadcrumbs from the Old Firm table then I'll be done, simple as that. I'm not saying that makes me any better than those who wish to continue their support, or those who harbour a bias towards the blue half of Glasgow within our support. I simply refuse to buy into an openly corrupt set-up, simple as that. None of this has come to pass yet though, so my season ticket renewal forms sit on my table, waiting to be filled in when the club and those who run our league do the right thing. Again, not to those who run our club or our game.
  7. Which is why the SPL clubs & the bigwigs at the SPL know they can rip the pish without fear of any real comeback. When you're offering a product that the customer will buy regardless of its quality you have no real incentive to maintain the quality, or to improve on it. Christ, these customers actually see themselves being short-changed as some sort of badge of honour. I know that talking about football as a product will not sit right with some people, but that's exactly how those who run our clubs and league see it.
  8. I thought he was talking about the Champions League & the cut to his budget because he didn't sell a player last season?
  9. An article on the Record website regarding our budget for next season;
  10. No, but a legit race for 2nd would certainly make things more interesting. It stands to reason that we would see more fans interested if that happens. A more competitive league won't do any harm, that's for sure.
  11. Hold up, what are you on about there? A Celtic messageboard? Which one? I don't really hate Rangers anymore than any other non-old firm fan does to be honest. And again, for the umpteenth time, it has fuck all to do with Rangers and everything to do with how the the power that be at the SPL are going about their business. "I'm how a Motherwell fan should be"!?!
  12. What has my personal opinion got to do with the other moderators? As I've said numerous times, I'm simply not buying into the SPL if they allow Rangers to walk back in after everything they've done. Will I still attend non-SPL games? Yes, I will. Will I still spend my hard-earned in the club shop? Yes, I will. Will I still invest in the Well Society? Yes, I will. Y'see, in the past there's always been a bit of a suspicion that the SPL was geared up to benefit the two Glasgow clubs. I can live with a suspicion. If Rangers are allowed to transfer to a newco and walk right back into the SPL then that suspicion has basically became them waving it in our faces. When a product becomes rotten or you become disillusioned by it you have to decide if you want to keep throwing your money at it every year. I've simply decided not to.
  13. I wouldn't bother trying to explain it to him. There are a few on this forum who refuse to take on board anything that anyone says and will continue to have wee digs as those who don't agree with them.
  14. This is already being discussed in the straight letter to the board thread.
  15. Surely there'll still be season tickets and Well Society memberships available when the club make their position clear, no? The sensible thing is to wait and see how it all pans out, then put your cash either back in your pocket, or into the clubs bank account.
  16. Aye, very good mate. I'v been going to 'Well games for 26 years, so the decision not to return to SPL matches isn't one I've taken lightly. There has to be a point though where enough is enough. There's no way in Hell the SPL or the other member clubs of this league would react in the same forgiving way if it were the likes of Hibs, Hearts, ourselves or Dundee United who had did what Rangers did. It's simply a case of one set of rules for the big two, and another set for the rest of us. What makes it even worse is the fact that it appears that those who run the clubs who have been shafted are more than happy to aid in ensuring that we continue to get shafted. Fuck that. I'd rather walk away than waste my hard earned on a league that's pretty much rigged so that the big two succeed whilst the rest of us fight for whatever's left.
  17. I doubt it'll have a major effect on renewals to be honest.
  18. Give it time, Dewell. The fact that he hasn't come out immediately and said he was off (like Sutton did) means he may be considering the new contract.
  19. I don't think we really need another forward if I'm being honest. If we manage to tie up most of the squad we currently have for next season I'll be happy with that.
  20. Just admit that anyone who gives shit to a striker who scores the amount of goals in a season that Higdon has needs their heads examined.
