I'd take young Ness at Fir Park in a heartbeat. He looks like a decent player.

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
David replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Don't mention that -
How much does that come in at?
-
A club the size of ours simply needs to be bringing through talented youngsters that can do the business for us over a few seasons and then be moved on for a decent chunk of change. Anything that the club are looking to do that will improve that system can only be a good thing in my opinion.
-
Can't we be consulted and then also be told which way the board eventually decides to vote?
-
I'd like to think that McCall can convince a decent player or two to come to us for six months on loan with the promise of Champions League/Europa League football.
-
No. I like the sound of that!
-
We could end up with a right cracker of a tie then!
-
Right, the chances of us doing anything in the Champions League qualifiers is pretty slim, which means we'll be more than likely dropping down into the Europa League. We'll drop into the play-off round, meaning we're two games away from making the group stages proper, which would be fucking huge in my book. As it stands the following clubs have qualified for the play-off round; Sporting CP CSKA Moscow PSV Eindhoven Bordeaux Stuttgart Metalist Kharkiv AZ Hapoel Tel Aviv Lazio Trabzonspor Newcastle United Levante Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk Dinamo București Atromitos Heart of Midlothian Lokeren Midtjylland Luzern Not to mention that we'll possibly see the following clubs coming through the other qualifying rounds of this tournament; Twente Rosenborg Inter Milan Liverpool Marseille Athletic Bilbao I'm not sure if we'll be seeded in the play-off stage? Anyone care to enlighten me?
-
Yeah, that's great, but you'd like to think that with our club going into the Champions League qualifiers for the first time in our history we'd be looking to bring in a few players that may allow us to possibly do something in the Europa League?
-
So far our pre-season looks like this; Ayr United vs Motherwell - Saturday, July 14th Raith Rovers vs Motherwell - Tuesday, July 17th Motherwell vs Everton - Saturday, July 21st Hamilton vs Motherwell - Tuesday, July 24th With the 1st leg of our Champions League qualifier ( ) coming up on the Tuesday or Wednesday following the Accies game let's hope they don't boot fuck out of us too much.
-
Just over two weeks until the team are back for training, and as yet there's been no word on Jennings contract situation, and no new signings to speak of
-
Exactly. I'm pretty much in the same boat.
-
I see the Record are punting the idea of McFadden moving to Celtic; They've even provided the following photo with the article, just to make sure that the message gets across.
-
I personally wouldn't mind seeing Reynolds back at the club, if his wage request wasn't too much for our budget of course. We have a history of players leaving us only to return and do quite well...
-
It certainly looks better in the flesh, so to speak.

Being as this is a non-story, I figured that the bigger question may be the one that heads this thread. By my reckoning McCall signed a two & a half year deal in January of 2011, which means he's now seventeen months into his current deal. Is it time to see if he's willing to sign an extension? If we leave it until into next season he'll be eating into his final year, won't he? I don't need that kind of grief in my life to be honest.

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
David replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
My problem isn't with Rangers actions, but it could be with how our club and the brass at the SPL decide to deal with it. You seem unable to grasp the fact my issue is with how our club and the SPL deal with the Rangers situation, not what Rangers actually do from here on in. If the situation eventually calls for a vote on Rangers stance in the SPL, or their transfer of shares to a NEWCO, and our club votes against Rangers being allowed to slide then I'll happily continue my support. If our club decides to take part in any sweeping under the carpet of the Rangers issue in favour of some breadcrumbs from the Old Firm table then I'll be done, simple as that. I'm not saying that makes me any better than those who wish to continue their support, or those who harbour a bias towards the blue half of Glasgow within our support. I simply refuse to buy into an openly corrupt set-up, simple as that. None of this has come to pass yet though, so my season ticket renewal forms sit on my table, waiting to be filled in when the club and those who run our league do the right thing. Again, not to those who run our club or our game. -
Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
David replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Which is why the SPL clubs & the bigwigs at the SPL know they can rip the pish without fear of any real comeback. When you're offering a product that the customer will buy regardless of its quality you have no real incentive to maintain the quality, or to improve on it. Christ, these customers actually see themselves being short-changed as some sort of badge of honour. I know that talking about football as a product will not sit right with some people, but that's exactly how those who run our clubs and league see it. -
I thought he was talking about the Champions League & the cut to his budget because he didn't sell a player last season?

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
David replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
No, but a legit race for 2nd would certainly make things more interesting. It stands to reason that we would see more fans interested if that happens. A more competitive league won't do any harm, that's for sure.
