  1. Either that or he's got a big shiny heid because he's old and losing his hair, thus suggesting that his insult aimed at the Well boys is nothing more than a tearful swipe at those who are younger and sport more hair ;)

  2. Like most new players he'll take time to settle in. He might make it he might not, be we need to give him a chance. He's been no worse nor no better than most other players in recent weeks, so why are some folk singling him for special attention. If he's in a C & A shirt he's got my support.

You can bet that he's not getting paid a pittance every week, that's for sure.

Once the summer window opens we'll be able to get two players for the wages he's getting, and those players may even be fit enough to play.

  3. I keep looking at the e-mails to check the part where he says he cant motivate the players in important games like Caley and St.Mirren and how we wont make the top 6 and how signing Jeffers was a bad move. Why Hately has been crapnow for weeks as has Murphy and how we couldn't keep weans out a close on saturday at Inverness. OVER TO YOU MR MCALL!! <_>

  4. Motherwell should keep Sutton, Jennings and Craigan IMO.

I see no reason why we shouldn't still have Sutton next season, as he's already indicated that he's keen to stay.

I also think Jennings will be off in the summer, probably Championship-bound, and I think Craigan will sign a new deal to stay at the club.

Jeffers can do whatever the fuck he wants as far as I'm concerned, as long as it doesn't involve Motherwell.

  5. Stuart McCall has sent out the warnings to out of contract players regarding finishing in the top six;

Motherwell boss Stuart McCall has warned his out-of-contract stars there will be no new deals unless they claim a top-six finish.

McCall hopes his grim message will act as a wake-up call following Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Inverness.

Stephen Craigan, John Sutton, Steve Jennings and Francis Jeffers now know the extra cash generated by holding on to a top-six spot can keep them at the club.

McCall said: "Finishing in the top six would help increase my budget and make things that bit easier.

"I'm aware of everyone's situation but having a few extra quid would help me sort out new contracts so that's the carrot for the players."

Meanwhile, Jeffers believes his side have a decent chance of claiming Scottish Cup glory now Rangers are out.

He said: "It helps that Gers are no longer in it. We have a tough draw at Dundee United but if we beat them we're in the semi-finals and then anything can happen."

  6. I delete them unread, he might not have anything better to do with his time, but I have.

So, you come on this forum to question McCall's tactics and ability to do the job, yet delete the emails that contain his explanation as to why he does certain things?

  7. What is the name of this Ultra Groups of Motherwell?

As far as I know there is no "official" ultra-type group at Fir Park.

The East Stand is the place where the more, shall we say, excitable fans dwell ;)

  8. Which, of course, is the biggest argument against 10-team SPL. More teams scared of relegation = more survivialist football.

Which is why I'll always be against a 10 team SPL.

From what I heard & read Jeffers was pretty much annonymous against Inverness. I hope this isn't him returning to form <_>

  9. The post-Inverness email has finally arrived...

    Good afternoon ‘Well fans,

It has taken me a few days to actually get the time to sit down and type this email so apologies to those who like to read it so soon after the match.

It’s almost been 48 hours since the game ended and I am obviously very disappointed and frustrated at our lack of consistency. It is something which has plagued most of the teams in Scotland this season outwith the Old Firm and Hearts, but it still makes you scratch your head.

We prepared the players excellently and they knew exactly what was at stake in terms of where three points would have left us. Disappointingly, it never worked whatsoever and we were poor pretty much from start to finish.

I spoke both after the Celtic match and again during the week about consistency and how we need to stop being so up and down both in terms of performances and results. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and I can assure you there is no-one more frustrated about that than me. Thank you to each and every fan who made the long journey up there and I am sorry the trip back was probably a long one based on our showing.

But we have to get it out of our system, and quickly. We have got two very important games left this month; the first is this Sunday against Dundee Utd.

I don’t have to tell you, the fans, how important Scottish Cup games are for this club. Both financially, and from a professional level. I know it is 20 years since we last won a trophy and I also understand the significance of the opposition this Sunday to that Cup win in 1991.

I can’t tell you how desperate I am to give the club a repeat of that day in 2011. And, more importantly, I think we are capable of it. In saying that, Dundee Utd are a terrific side, particularly at Tannadice and we’ve already lost there in my time as Motherwell manager. But, we can win and I will be going all out to win. With Rangers, Hearts, Kilmarnock and Hibs already out – I am sure every club in the Quarter Final can see a wee opportunity for themselves and we are no different.

I hope as many of you can make it through to Tannadice on Sunday as possible. I know Motherwell have a tradition of taking large crowds in Cup matches so hopefully a noisy enclosure will help our players progress to the Semi Final.

    Forever Claret and Amber,

    Stuart McCall

    Manager

    Motherwell Football Club

  10. Who cares!

Unless you can`t physically make it up to Dundee on Sunday, or genuienly can`t afford it, all Well fans should be at Tannadice.

£10 for a Scottish Cup QF is good value, plus the fact we get some of the gate, so get up to the game n cheer the boys on!!

    `Mon the Well!

Unfortunately I fall into the latter category. It'll be Fir Park for me.

  11. Highlights the very problem teams like us face even with 3 consecutive seasons in europe we still have locals going to support the old firm, it's a shame the product coming out of parkhead and ibrox is the worst it's been in recent years

The problem will never go away, so there's no point in complaining about it.

Rangers & Celtic will never drop the religious side of things, because if they did they may end up losing support eventually, which isn't what they want. Unfortunately, Motherwell, as a Lanarkshire club, will just have to make do with what we have.

We could be doing more by way of getting into schools and bringing kids into the games. God knows we have enough spare seats.

Something like that would ensure that a certain percentage of the youngsters continue coming to games as they get older.
