  1. No, i'm not. I'm asking a legit question.
  2. I'm assuming that the businesses involved would be paying the club for the promotion and the custom that such a deal would bring to them then? I mean, the season book offers something at half price, for example. How many fans are going to consider going there because of that deal?
  3. Did non-Old Firm fans just stop calling in?
  4. Wouldn't the fact that both Rangers & Celtic fans represent something like 80%, if not more, of Scottish football fans kind of explain why it's mostly Old Firm fans who ring the show?
  5. This statement strikes me as being rather odd. Why would you want anyone to stay away when they are willing to part with cash to watch Motherwell?
  6. If Motherwell were stupid enough to tell Real Radio to piss off (and I doubt they will be) it really would be rather sad. I'm guessing the club will make a little money from it, and it'll probably mean some free advertising for any tickets that remain for the game. Good stuff.
  7. Glad to hear it. A little bit of recognition for what we've managed to accomplish this season in Europe so far.
  8. Now, before going any further i'd like to point out that Clyde charge £10 for adults and £5 for Senior Citizens, Students & Under-16s for every home game. Their average attendance is as follows; 2009-2010: 633 (Division Two) 2008-2009: 1,237 (Division One) 2007-2008: 1,303 (Division One) Right, this season they are offering season tickets for; Adult £99 Concession £49 Under-18 £29 Under-16 £9 2010-11 Season Tickets include the following benefits: •18 fully transferable vouchers that you can use as and when you wish during the Third Division campaign. If you miss a match, bring a friend to another! •Guaranteed purchase of a ticket (if required) for every cup match •Discounted admission to cup matches in exchange for a voucher •£10 discount per person for up to four people on matchday hospitality •Two 10% off vouchers for Club Shop merchandise (one per item) In an exciting new scheme, every season ticket also entitles the holder to a range of discounts and offers at various outlets in Cumbernauld and beyond; Adventure Planet Bombay Dreams Gala Bingo KFC Pro Bowl Subway Broadwood Farm Pizza Hut McDonald's The Smiddy Inn Arnold Clark Stuart Paton Butcher & Dee's Rolls Westerwood Hotel Dovecote Beefeater William Hill The Weavers, Condorrat Access NL Leisure Blockbuster Entertainment This has to be one of the most inovative ideas i've seen from a Scottish club in years. I'm assuming that they can sell the tickets at this price because of the deals they have managed to broker with the local businesses? Surely something like this should be possible for most clubs, including Motherwell? Since implementing this plan at the start of the season;

Here's an idea, just for shits & giggles. Why don't we just accept the fact that he didn't play that well, and neither did the majority of the team, and leave it at that? We are on the brink of making the Europa league stages, which will see us pocket somewhere around 1 million Euros, and the new season has just started. Plus, it's not pissing with rain in Lanarkshire today. Cheer the fuck up and look on the bright side, eh? I'd hate to see what some of you would be like if we were fighting relegation and getting hammered every week.
  10. I thought this thread would be a good attempt at putting the Hibs game (and Mark Reynolds performance) to bed. We come into it three days after our game with Odense, and as much as i'd like to say an away game with Killie will result in three points i'm going to have to play it conservative here and opt for a score draw. They looked not too bad against Rangers at the weekend, even though I only saw the highlights on the BBC site, plus the game on Thursday and the travel will play some part in how we get on at the weekend. I personally wouldn't change the team that played Hibs on Sunday, unless we get an injury in Denmark of course. Thoughts? Team changes etc?

I've never understood the logic of creating individual threads to moan about one of your own teams players performances Okay, he wasn't great today. As Pingu said, he put in a decent performance against Aalesund. It's one game into the new season. Chill out.
  12. As they realistically should be to be honest. We had a bit of an off-day today, but hopefully we'll bounce back and take something from the game on Thursday. I'm still confident of a top 6 finish this season. One game won't change that.
  13. At the moment we are scheduled as follows; 15/08/2010 vs Hibernian ESPN live 12pm 29/08/2010 vs Celtic ESPN live 12pm 13/11/2010 vs Hibernian BBC Alba delayed coverage 28/11/2010 vs Hearts Sky Sports live 2:15pm A bit of info for anyone who may be interested.
  14. We have as good a chance as we were ever going to have, so i'm happy with that draw. It's a tie we can win.
  15. Does anyone have a link to the page broadcasting the game on radio?
  16. It's basically a more detailed version of what I mentioned in the initial post, so there wasn't really any need for the bashing of the season book holders (not that i'm saying you actually did that, of course). A limit of two tickets per book ought to do the job in my opinion. Obviously there's a chance that the game won't sell out, but if we draw someone like Liverpool, and considering the following the EPL has, there is a chance that we could see a sell-out.
  17. I never mentioned supporters clubs though. I said that season ticket holders and those who had bought tickets for the previous two Europa League games should perhaps be given priority.
  18. Some people have work commitments that mean they can't get down to the ticket office at 9am on a Tuesday or whatever.
  19. With all due respect to Nancy, I don't consider them to be the same attraction that Juventus or especially Liverpool would be.
  20. I'd have to think that a football shirt produced by a company like Puma isn't going to fall apart in the wash anytime soon.
  21. I may be jumping the gun a bit by looking past Aalesund, but i've been thinking recently about what happens if we get past them and draw someone such as Juventus, Liverpool or Dortmund? Obviously, a draw against Liverpool would be all well & good, but we are likely to face a fair bit of demand for tickets, aren't we? How many people would like to see a system in place for distributing the tickets for the home game? Some thing like season ticket holders getting first choice, followed by the fans who had gone to both home games in the previous rounds etc? If nothing like that is in place we'll have people who have never stepped foot inside Fir Park getting tickets simply to see Steven Gerrard or Del Piero, whilst actual fans who supported the club through the previous rounds maybe not being able to get down to the stadium quickly enough to get their tickets. Whilst i'd love to see Fir Park full for a real glamour game, i'd hate to miss out on possibly our biggest European game in our history because there was a rush of Sky Sports subscribers wearing Fernando Torres headbands snapping up all the tickets.
  22. He's just signed for Aberdeen, so he's as good as finished.
  23. Whilst i'm not quite as dismissive of Aalesund as Motherwell89, I really don't see any reason to fear them. Unless i'm mistaken the best they've managed in recent times is 11th in their league, which isn't exactly the strongest, and they haven't played in Europe before. This is our third consecutive season in Europe, and we've been punching above our weight domestically in recent times. I'll take a 1-1 draw in Norway, and a decent win at Fir Park.
