There's been a few sources claiming it as being true, and it's the same thing I alluded to the other day. There's a reason why his medical is dragging on, and why he's being sent to see different doctors and so on I'd imagine. This isn't a case of people making things up with no foundation, there's a reason why this is taking so long.

Isn't he out of contract? Or am I mixing him up with someone else?
-
One of the problems at the moment for most fans is perception. For all intents and purposes it's easy to forget that he's still a contracted Motherwell player, what with the photos of him in a Celtic shirt with Lennon, him being reported as bouncing around specialists all over the UK with Celtic doctors and so on. Meanwhile our focus is on pre-season, with him having for all intents and purposes been sold. You have to feel for the lad. Regardless of how much he wants a move, or how much money he could potentially be getting, there must have been a few times when he's been sitting outside some doctors office somewhere checking his phone and seeing the videos and photos from Belfast thinking "Fuck sake man, I wish I was just out there having a laugh with my pals and getting some time in on the pitch."
-
I would still prefer he stayed with us for another year, personally.
-
Would we? If Celtic started playing funny buggers with the fee that they agreed previously, you think Turnbull would throw a strop if we don't accept it? You don't think he'd knuckle down and see what else comes up this window, or in January? That last sentence is also calling into question his professionalism. I've seen nothing to suggest he'd act in that way.

I thought Celtic made a big song and dance about not being able to offer any guarantees over game time?
-
If this situation had followed the same sort of timeline and protocol that the vast majority of other transfers do then I'd agree with your first point, but it hasn't. There's still every chance that he ends up a Celtic player, but there's definitely something not quite right at the moment. Virtually everything points towards that being the case. Not that it's something disruptive enough to cause the deal to collapse, but to say there's nothing to see here seems a tad naive.

Lennon told us in an interview on Thursday or Friday that he was undergoing a medical "as we speak," and yet he's now apparently going for a medical the following Monday?
-
Could very well be. I'm sure Lennon said on Thursday or Friday that the medical was going on as he spoke, but I guess I may have been drunk. One thing I do know is that this thing has been a drawn out affair unlike anything else I've seen in a while. Heard a few more people talking about issues with the medical, but I guess we'll see. I just want the thing done and dusted and us to have the transfer fee confirmed.
-
I'm guessing there'll be a long line of new signings for a lot of clubs waiting on the equipment for medicals to be fixed first.
-
Yeah, warm as fuck though. Typical Scottish summer really.
-
Glasgow City Centre. It was cloudy and a bit rainy, but it's warm. It's certainly not the weather for a coat like Davie's wearing there unless he's feeling the chill.
-
Yeah, something isn't right with that photo. Either that or the current Celtic squad nabbed all the good clobber and poor Davie has been left with the winter range.
-
Yeah, I'm not sure he'd be wearing a jacket like that on a day like this where it's relatively warm. He looks like he's having his medical in the Arctic Circle.
-
Something to do with issues with his knee, which has resulted in a second opinion being sought, and potentially a renegotiation of the deal with us. Nonsense hopefully, although that photo of him at the airport looks like a photoshop to me I don't know what to believe any more. It's getting ridiculous.
-
Well, let's hope so, and let's hope it's all went smoothly for both the boy and for us. What I'd heard wasn't all that great, and sounded like it could have been problematic. Obviously just heresay though if he's already en route to Celtic's training camp. EDIT: Okay, I've seen the photo you're maybe on about....
-
Yeah, I've heard a few whispers. Nothing concrete enough to go about repeating mind you, but there seems to be some murmurings from both sides of the deal that this isn't going to go through as smoothly as we maybe thought. At this stage I'm just hoping we either get the player for another season or until January, or we get the fee that was mentioned. EDIT: Unless what I've heard is bollocks of course, and he has been photographed at the airport with the doctor, and everything is fine. There's every chance of that being the case.
-
Where did you see the photo of him at the airport?
-
He's not even signed yet as far as I know. His medical hasn't cleared.
-
So, rumours of problems with Turnbull's medical then, eh? Let's discuss that instead.
-
As mental as it may sound to folk like us, I wonder if the lad maybe doesn't fancy any move at all just now? Sometimes it's easy to forget that he's only 19, and is still a kid. Maybe he's not keen on moving away from family, or the pressure of being a Celtic player either? It's practically unheard of for a player at a club like ours to not just knock back the kind of dough Celtic were offering, but also to then go and knock back a team in the Premiership? Something seems a bit off about it all.
-
If you're troubled by anything posted then report the post and the staff will look into it. Asking for bans and suchlike in the discussion itself won't get you anywhere, unless it's just a reaction you're looking for.
-
I guess they could, in theory. But it would be up to Oxford to agree to that I think, as we've not really got that many other clubs looking as though they're willing to pay the developmental fee.
-
Yeah, as much as I don't like Celtic I don't think they'd be stupid enough to have the lad in a Celtic shirt beside Neil Lennon without the deal being done. Not like that's happened to them before
-
I assumed the clubs had agreed the fee already, otherwise the player wouldn't have been allowed to speak to Celtic?
