Disappointed that Ainsworth made no impression at all. Wasn't impressed by Laing. Fletcher showed good endeavour early in the second half but was largely ineffective. Cadden was caught out at the first goal but he had no support, I don't have an excuse for the keeper losing that goal. Needless free kick for the second, or taking one for the team? Didn't make out what happened when the free kick was put in but it ended in the net. No real high spots but I deluded myself into thinking we were going to secure a point which would have been a reasonable return for the day's efforts.

I watched with interest how last night's formation panned out. The big bonus was having the spare central defender able to go forward and attack high balls or to sweep behind the other two. This worked well. I don't think we were attacked down the wings which is the concern I would have if we played this against a more competent team. Although Cadden got forward a few times I thought that Marvin's forward play was suppressed by his defensive duties but then we had Faddy creating a little bit of creative spark so that maybe balanced out. In short, no idea what formation to play on Saturday.
