  1. When Mitchell scored that goal, the place went wild!
  2. Thats right, st mirren frequently get top 6 and sometimes even manage 3rd place.
  3. You guys really are loonies, taking your point of view to the extreme...... suppose we landed Kaka on loan. Do we say, sorry son we aren't going to bother playing you because McGarry and Boab are contracted to us so they deserve to play before you?? Course not. You play the best players you have available to you. I don't know if Sheridan is any better than Sutton, but if he turns out to be then I would hope he becomes the first choice for that slot, regardless of Suttons contract situation.
  4. I dont care which one of the two of them McGhee decides to play, as long as it is the better one! If Sheridon turns out to be a better player than Sutton, then Sutton can sit on the bench till the end of the season as far as Im concerned. Just because he's our player, doesn't mean we shouldn't bother giving the other boy a chance! My opinion for what its worth is that Sutton will start on saturday and if sheridan has impressed the gaffer in training, he will be on sometime in the 2nd half.
  5. Find 'flows communication thread and add it to the list of problems MFC have communicating with the fans.
  6. If John Sutton doesn't step up to the mark soon, I think Sherridan will be playing more than you make out. He can't possibly be that bad, the guys played for the champions in both Europe and the league. Granted they had an injury crisis at the time, but you can't tell me Celtic back up players are worse than our back up players (which is essentially what John Sutton has been for the last 3 months)
  7. All qualities our very own David Clarkson has in abundance, but yet everyone loves him!
  8. Maybe im in the minority but I would rather McGhee does his job and wins us the game tonight, rather than piss about with loan signings who are no doubt pish anyway, just to appease a couple of fundamentalists on the fucking internet!
  9. Does any supporter of any club actually ever hand season tickets back? Isn't is just a silly threat by tubes on the phone ins? Closest you get to it is old firm fans throwing their season tickets onto the pitch 3 games before the end of the season when they cant win the league anymore!
  10. Cant imagine we could afford Killen, however if he was judged decent enough to get a shot at Parkheed then he cany be that bad??? Although saying that, Paddy McCoart must be shite since he's never figured.
  11. Right, I've had a few pints after work, granted however I just can't see logic with this. How can you not break even in europe?? Expenses - flying the first team out to France - 8000 thunder stix Income - Europe money - tv money, 2 live games including money from French tv stations - full house at fir park - hospitality, both home for the big game and the £500 punters who flew on the claret and amber flights - european tour merchandising, (all the t-shirts, flags, scarves, photos of fir park etc etc) Maybe i've missed a few things, and hands up im not well versed in the financial implications of european participation, but I really can't see how we lost money on that.
  12. I can't believe how happy people are on here to wave goodbye to Big Porter, yet the world is falling in if we were to lose Lasley. And lets point out, the figure quoted here if correct is 75k more than an offer we accepted from Huddersfield for Porter!!
  13. Or now we are unbeaten in 2009 and playing half decent, Melvin Bragg needs to find something else wrong with McGhee to moan about.
  14. ^Add in the fact McGhee said last week in the herald that barring us finishing 4th or winning the cup, we would be running at deficit, there is noway the full whack will be going on strengthening the squad. Some will be needed to balance the books!
  15. Totally agree, but since when did a football fans brain work in a business perspective. Sad to see the big man go, we always knew it was coming. Best of luck
  16. Maybe im the only one, but I'de much rather keep him and his goals till the end of the season and then let him walk away for nowt!
  17. Well in two weeks time these games are played...... Saturday, 31 January 2009Falkirk v AberdeenHamilton v HeartsHibernian v MotherwellRangers v Dundee UtdSt Mirren v Kilmarnock Wins for us, Rangers, Accies and Fakirk, would fairly help your turing point. And I bet you'd get cracking odds on it too!
  18. Who'd have thought it, us 'well fans moaning about games being postponed!
  19. I've signed up. Don't want to be a cynic or piss on flows parade, but how is signing up for this any different from signing up for the 'getting to know you' initiative that was on the website in the summer?? Looking forward to the news emails anyway.

^Just read that. Why would he want to go to a mid table league 1 side though? I suppose it's really down to money, exibit A = Kaka.

I think you are all nuts wanting to get shot of the big man for £150k. BBC news reported last night that Forfar are going to make £120k minimum for their cup tie with rangers...... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...tic/7828882.stm If we keep Porter and get through a few rounds in that tournament, we will easily make more £ than we would selling him now for a pityfull fee.

I think its quite funny that there has been so much shite written on these boards this season about Porters form, lack of goals and how we could do without him, etc etc then he scores a few goals and says he hasn't decided where he will be next season, and suddenly he's Jesus with just about every punter in this thread cracking one off to thoughts about him. For what its worth, i've always thought he was a class apart (as a player) and i hope that we can find a way to keep him.
  23. Actually, Im sure I heard Wishart say that most clubs pay monthly these days and Hearts were one of the few to still pay weekly. They then recently moved to monthly payments.
  24. Im sure they must be thinking similar. Keep Porter, Clarky and Boab quiet and we have no goal threat!
  25. If its to be in the Ravenscraig development, then transport won't be a problem as any plans for the area should all be outlined within the Structure Plan and NLC's Local Transport Strategy. There are aspirations for a rail station to be located within Ravenscraig, and there will of course be plenty buses if/when the housing developments ever proceed. As for parking and transport in general, the club and council will have to produce a transport assessment as part of gaining planning permission, which covers these points showing the impact on the local road network and following statutory guidance on how many parking spaces are allowable and any assistance for alternative methods of travel.
