  1. Well that's brought Gannon his young team and a lot of us Motherwell fans back down to earth with a bump. To be fair at times today as a team and as individuals we looked and played well. But individual mistakes cost us dear and at times as a team we were all over the place .It goes without saying that next weeks game is now massive in many ways .I will stick my neck out and say we will bounce back from today.

  2. I never thought about Jim when the team and subs were announced at the game yesterday ,it wasn't till after the game I wondered about his omission .He is certainly a better guitarist than a football player no doubts about that whatsoever, and I have every confidence that he will go on and become a Dons legend like that great double act Adams and Craig who left Motherwell a few years ago and bettered themselves no end. As they say in showbiz Jim break a leg.

  3. Celtic's performance was a joy to behold today and typified everything about what makes that football club so special in the world of football. They play football, that's the Celtic way and do it in the way it should be done. The Brazil of Scottish Football and that's why I have always had a soft spot for them. It was absolutely no shame to lose to them today.

I smell shite Celtic shite at that .

  4. Might just be me putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 but the gaffers comments make me think the big man could be away come January .

The manager also took time to praise on-loan Evertonian John Ruddy who had yet another fantastic afternoon between he sticks.

The 22-year old turned in a man-of-the match performance, one of several this campaign, prompting Gannon to reiterate his claim from earlier in the season that the former Cambridge Utd stopper is the best the SPL has to offer.

“I don’t often make lewd statements- I said a few weeks ago that he’s the best goalkeeper in the SPL in current form and I stand by that,” Gannon claimed.

“John has matured into a top class keeper and coming here as been a fantastic experience for him. He’s loved it and once again today he has shown his class and ability.

“We’ve been lucky enough to secure his services in the last few months and obviously I thank John for coming up here. If we can help guys like him improve as a player then I will obviously be delighted.

“When I retire from my career I want to look back and remember a good group of young players who I helped develop their career and I can already see that with players like Ash Williams who is now the captain of Wales.

“I see John in that same bracket and I am sure he’ll go on to have a fantastic career. If we lose him it’ll because he’s on a remarkable journey to the top.”

  5. And what about this statement from Jim just before a double header with the old firm . ....

The match official admitted after the derby at Ibrox that he'd been wrong not to award Celtic at least one penalty during their 2-1 defeat in October.

Dallas issued what amounted to an apology on the referee's behalf 24 hours after the game, admitting Thomson had been wrong not to give a penalty when Davie Weir blatantly tripped Shaun Maloney.

Gannon said: "Dallas had to defend the referee because the result of the game might have been different if he'd got his decisions correct at Ibrox.

"Celtic might look back on that result at the end of the season and decide that Ibrox in October is when they lost the league championship.

"There's a question mark over the standard of refereeing in Scotland and the mistakes that are being made are having an effect on the league table."

  6. Just heard the Accies and Hearts managers on sky sports news, in a game where 5 players were sent off they say nothing about the Ref ,the players sent of or the incidents that led to the sending off's. No they were only concerned with the football didn't see the bust up in the tunnel bla bla bla. Mabey Jim Gannon would rather he and the players say nothing rather than spout a load of shit like Billy and Shava .[or whatever hes called ]

  7. people were moaning at halftime cos we had only one shot first half...........so he tried to change it and have had a lot more possession altho little more activity in front of goal......altho the penalty may have helped

the people who should be moaning are the well fans who paid good money to watch that crap.

  8. lancaster citys young sharpshooter j.c. is on trial with a scottish premier league club.

several league scouts have been watching him.

city manager tony hesketh said j.c. is attracting a lot of intrest and im sure he can make it in the proffesional game.

  9. Just a wee comment on Jutkiewicz and Ruddy, they have done well for us but are they really going to move on to bigger and better things I think these guys have found there level ,two decent players in an average team playing in an average league .They WILL move, but like so many other players that have left Motherwell in the past 3 or 4 seasons will find the step up a bit harder than they might think or have been led to believe.
