I reckon that is likely. But I really hope not. Unless McGhee sees Lasley as not playing unless it's an emergency (Faddy style) we do not need another central midfielder.

Good move for him as he is well out of favour. Kennedy and Ferguson are able back up and able to also push for the first team. Would not be surprised to see another couple out on loan. Hopefully saves us some wages that we can now use elsewhere.

I am not panicking yet. The team looked out of sorts on Saturday absolutely. Way I see it: We basically are really missing Moult and Pearson. Essentially playing 1 up front, Ainsworth and Johnson supporting just isn't clicking and Skippy is getting fairly isolated and tetchy. The midfield is also not clicking. Clay and Lasley too similar and really don't know how to play with each other yet. The defence is getting there but you have McManus diving in and Heneghan diving in at times and then being out if position as again I think they really just don't know each other yet. I am confident with Moult back next month and the team playing more and more together we will see more positive results. But I think it will be a rocky few weeks. -

Disagree. He at least passes the ball fairly well. Did much better than Lasley who was so far off the pace it was frightening. -
Your summary of Clay is what I have seen so far. Where did he play for yourselves? Sitting midfielder or attacking mid? Tait has been fine in the 5 or 6 games. Better than our previous right back. However found out a bit against Celtic, albeit against a much better player in Scott Sinclair.

League matchday 2 today. Even if we do get beaten today it's far too early to guess how the team and season is going to pan out. - Our topscorer from last season out with injury. Even when he is fit it will take him in to late September to be match fit probably. - Out new backup striker has been out with injury. Leaves no real tested option other then Skippy up front supported by 2 wingers. - New players still bedding in to the team and the opposition they come up against. Especially key as Tait/Clay/Heneghan have came up from a lower level. Much like Johnson it will take a while for them to get used to better opposition. - McGhee hinting a few loans out and someone else in in the recent press conference. So, squad not yet finalised. Key players may also leave. So, even if we do get beaten today I will reserve judgement until the end of September or thereabouts. -

Read in a couple of places this morning that McFadden may be on the bench today. -

I will call it is I see it on the day. Not pre judging his actual performance (he has actually been pretty steady thus far) but Chalmers does give me the fear...mainly due to his lack of pace and strength in the tackle. The problem. is...who else do we play at left back? I wouldn't move Johnson back there as he is too important elsewhere. Did we put in an untried U20? Maybe but risky also. I can't see us going with anything else but the below with McHugh, Hammel and Moult out. Samson Tait Heneghan McManus Chalmers Cadden Lasley Clay Ainsworth Skippy Johnson I think it will be enough to win by a goal. -

Joe will be in at left back and I will wince all game. Then probably say "he actually did not bad" For this is how it was fortold. -
Was going to say similar! Also Blyth hasn't even kicked a ball yet and isn't good enough it seems.

I confidently predict we will be fine this season but lose to Celtic and most probably Rangers a fair bit. Much like other seasons gone past. They sign players like Dembele and Sinclair. We sign players from. Non league and league 2. It's no huge surprise. However we aren't that different from many of the other teams in the league. We will win one every so often but lose the majority. The players we have are what you get when you budget for 10th and no cup runs. That's what we have chosen to go with so we need to deal with it. All that aside....we sat and defended too deep and then had to open up and go for it. I was fearful we would conceded another couple in th3 second half. Shame...but we move on.
-
Said previously I would rather he didn't as seemed to be a defensive midfielder but I did like the look of him. However maybe that he was told to play deeper than he would usually. Let's see what happens. Hope he does us proud.
-
Key things that bump the price of him up: - 4 years to go on contract. Hibs don't need to cash in yet. - Younger than Cummings. Has more sell on value potential for the buyer. - Better than Magennis and scores more goals. Different types of players but both strikers. Add all the above and the asking price is boosted.

The bold Josh Law scoring the winner for Oldham tonight. Jamie Murphy scoring a couple as well.
