  1. Let's not do the Vigurs thing again...for my sanity The last two posts are a nice summary of how it will pan out.
  2. Does not seem so. McDonald to be up front as we are back on grass.
  3. Given we will be missing McHugh, Moult and possibly one of Blyth/McDonald (possibly both) then full strength might be a couple of Mackin, Campbell or Thomas playing!
  4. They have lost 3-1 to Stranraer, and 3-0 to Rangers thus far. So, I'd also suggest 5 is ambitious. Glad we have it at home rather that on their pitch as their artificial surface looked shit on Friday night.
  5. I saw him at Dumbarton and he looked the part. Tackled well, good passing.
  6. McHugh, I am 99% sure, is banned. Had a look at the SFA suspension list and Jake Pickard of QOS picked up a booking in the first 2 matches. He was then banned for their 3rd match yesterday.
  7. Yeah you could be right. Either way hopefully we do what is required to fill the midfield spot.
  8. Wasn't there but from the highlights looks some decent finishes and loads of chances. Good to hear McGhee dishing out some positive praise about Ainsworth. Clearly still getting it into him he wants him to work for the team 100% of the time.
  9. It's too hard to tell just now due to not everyone having played the same games. Should be clearer by end of Wed night.
  10. It's good planning to have trialist in and recruitment ongoing. End of next week two could be out on loan and then suddenly we have budget to sign a player...voila.
  11. I guess a short term deal is a trial to get a longer one. Not a trialist in the normal sense though.
  12. Laing on the bench today
  13. Shame McDonald and Blyth miss out. Not ideal Moult leading the line with an injury. Will be interesting to see if Johnson and Ainsworth push high and make it a 4-3-3 or if it's basically a 4-5-1 with attacking wingers.
  14. I do in part agree with this. However if he rates Kennedy higher than Laing, has watched Heneghan last season and in training then he likely has a decent idea.
  15. That's my reading of the situation capt_oats (from the various sources like interviews and WS meetings) Playing budget is levelled at lowest success possible but avoiding relegation. Everything else goes to the club to pay off what needs paid. It's the lowest risk strategy but on the other hand leaves us wether even less chance of going on that elusive cup run or money spinning top 6.
  16. I don't think people are being overly negative in the main. Couple of voices, aye, but the rest are just discussing and speculating to the news.
  17. I do think we will see a couple of other players moved out to finance a deal for the elusive midfielder we really need. From over budget one day.....to suddenly enough scope for a wage for a player...
  18. Every time he has played he has looked like he is about to make a mistake and very nervy. Also very injury prone. It's a shame because he did show promise and ability. However, given Kennedy is pretty much exactly the same (in that he can be nervy looks like making mkstakes) then we should only really have one of them on the books. Right now he is behind Heneghan, Kennedy and Ferguson for me. So, probably best he goes if he can
  19. He puts on a lovely platter. Cheeses, meats...the lot.
  20. McGhee expands a bit more on YouTube. Looked a certainty to be going at one point yesterday, club discussed his wants (family etc) and the clubs needs and both parties came to current decision. Moore comments - not ready yet for 1st team. Saves some money but we are over budget so no extra for a new player persay.
  21. Good to see an official bid rejected for a very important player.
  22. Letting McDonald go for nowt starts a trend....that's my only worry. He is a key player and unless we can pull the trigger on a replacement the Oz team should be expected to stump up the cash for the position it would leave us in. Edit: on that note - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/scott-mcdonalds-move-australia-collapses-8460270#pdfCTwBRCqQRVYr0.97. Good on the club
