Not sure about that team - interesting to see where Grimshaw and Taylor play. Watt, Leitch both playing in the reserves regularly so are fit. Leitch on theBay bench. McGhee must not think they are ready for his team yet I guess.
-
If Las and Hammell are fit, and McGhee was just at it then I think he will go 4-4-2 and match them. Ripley Law Kennedy Laing Hammell Ainsworth Lasley Pearson Johnson Moult McDonald I probably wouldnt pick it any differently to be honest. Glad Gardyne is out. If we can keep on top of it Woods and Irvine in the midfield we have a decent chance.
-
Aw man...you just said soccer! Argument null and void. :-)
-
Just read a quote from Lasley saying they both should be fit for the game. McGhee definitely said different in the press conference....mind games! http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/14042090.Boost_for_Motherwell_as_experienced_pair_Lasley_and_Hammell_return_to_the_fold/?
-
Hammy unlikely to feature, Lasley definitely still out for the game.
-
If they draw they will both gain and drop points. Dropping more than they gain. Which will be our gain. But not as much as if one of them lost which would mean we gain more. But on the other hand not gain as much as one of the teams had gained more than the other by not dropping points! In summary, let's try and win our game!
-
Not always an easy game up there....sometimes it turns out it is. So, score draw also! 1 - 1

I think I am right in saying Derek Weir and Jim McMahon are both WS members also. So with some resignations from the WS board and nominations at the time of takeover they could very well be on the WS board running the club and give that business acumen we may need. In fact I would be surprised if something like that didn't happen nearer the time.
-
Key line there I thought worthwhile to pull out, the whole idea is it will not be unbalanced: For everything read and heard...my take is...issues and debate about likelihood aside.... The club and society are working towards a model that will have the club running on an at least break even basis by the time Les leaves. Running on league and cip income, projected transfer fees rec'd etc etc. So, in theory at least, if and when the WS takes a controlling share then the club should not need propped up on a regular basis anymore because we should have paid back Les, paid back Boyle and paid back McMahon/Weir. It will then be up to the club to ensure the model set out is adhered to. Of course the WS wont tell us to stop DD's. The full model of fan ownership is that it is ongoing and those paying the DD will continue to do so....it does not stop when we get ownership. Much like Hearts who still have half of their regular home fans signed up each month on an ongoing basis. The 'pot of money' being aimed for should be a rainy day fund so to speak once WS owns the club. However, one of the main risks we have is if that rainy day fund disappears for whatever reason then we have no sugar daddy owner, like Les or Boyle, or board members (like McMahon, Weir) to turn to anymore (assuming the WS board members aren't minted). Which is why it is key the club needs to be run on a break even basis in the first place as we lose that option to be bailed out by loans.
-
More or less right aye - we borrowed £650k from Les originally, that was topped up by c £350k to take total loan to c £1m. The figures are further back in the chain but I think that is about right for Boyle. There was also a smaller amount of £50k owed to McMahon/Weir (£25k each) Spoke to my Dad today and not much more to add than has already been said. For the mention of 1000 fans above. That probably relates to the following from the website: To achieve our aims, we will, recruit at least 2000 members paying on average £10 per month to contribute to the income-generating effort and demonstrate commitment to ownership by the fans in additional to membership revenues, raise a capital reserve of £500,000 ensure that at least 1000 members remain registered during the period 2015-2020

Yet to speak to my old man. There is a wee review of the night over on Fir Park Corner I just noticed.
-
My dad is away over so I will get the jist later on I am sure. Likely to be an update from club/society too - hopefully a video like the pres conferences too.

Fair enough, might have guaranteed it was asked I suppose. I was hoping to go, so would have asked for you but can't make it unfortunately.
-
Assuming you have someone but have also emailed your question to them also?
-
Dont know, which is why I said suspect. But if numbers had bumped up directly after the article I think we would have heard much like we did recently about the new 60 members joining in past couple of weeks. The reaction to the article was mostly negative from on here and who I spoke to certainly. Could be wrong...just guess work and conversation.

Never a penalty in a million years. Hand wasnt in a odd position given he was jumping and had been pushed. Also ball to hand not the other way around. Do we really think he got an advantage by blocking his own clearing header? Nah. We will see them given again but it was a poor decison. -
Dennyc, The only thing I could see in your last post about the £180k was the below, nowt about the split: "2 The payment of £180k to LH came from Club income and definitely not from Society Funds. Possibly transfer funds." I do know what you mean about it being in the clubs interest to technically pay the £40k. But, in reality I would think the conversations between board/society/owner will be a lot more pragmatic around what the £180k 'covers'
-
Who told ye? Tom Feely? Wether its 180k of the 350k, or 140k of the 350k and 40k of the 650k I suppose may be a bit of moot point as it all goes to Les. I suspect he knew and agreed to the first 40k payment being missed and thought he could use it in the daily mail article as a way to leverage more members...which backfired really. Could be wrong - just a suspicion.
-
Crikey. Never knew that. Naughty.
-
It has not been clarified. It could cover either loan 1, loan 2 or both. End of the day it is money paid back and a sizeable chunk. I hope/expect it to be on Monday as it isba question I submitted.
-
So did I actually which was why I posted in the match thread about people's immediate after match comments being really negative. We look much better but I do think we are not as penetrating or clinical as we should be
-
I would agree. We were over reliant on the 2 of them on Saturday, and the week before at Killie. The tactic was get it wide which resulted in a lot of sideways and back passes to try and get round the opposition midfield. I am glad we are not just hoofing it up the park but we do need to find something that is a more penetrating. 4-3-3 might be the way with the right players.

I really do want to read all of the above but I just cant be fucked. At least there is some discussion and passion I guess.
