  1. Yeah I think it is very localised and to do a lot with the elevation of where you are. Just a small covering in Uddingston but up the road in Blackwood near Lesmahagow a couple of inches at my parents. Some rain forecast which could help melt some snow on the ground but hopefully not tip a wet park over the edge!
  2. My point was about the game, as in Scottish football, in general. Compared to 5, 10 and 15 years ago the quality overall has definitely dropped. The quality of player in general has dropped. My opinion only but I don't think that's just rose tinted specs. There are teams that have got worse then better again granted but for me it feels the overall quality and skill on show is less than it was which I think is a reason for the decline. People want to see a good football match, not just a competitive one, between 2 poor teams. Especially at the price we pay....which is another point...
  3. Aye you could be right actually. Probably shows how much I don't think he his anything special nowadays as I haven't taken a huge amount of notice!
  4. Game should be fine though. Sleet for a couple hours yet, nothing over night and then some rain from 10am that should wash any snow away.
  5. Apparently not anymore. But the USH has been on since Thursday morning full bung according to Twitter.
  6. There is no silver bullet. But for me (as someone who has a season ticket already) the main thing is the football game itself. I think we have a tighter league nowadays which is fine but an overall noticeable drop in quality is very clear to see and I think keeps people away. If we can improve the quality and play less matches against the same teams then I think attendances would improve regardless of seats, pies, half time entertainment etc. The focus needs to be on the actual game itself to bring the core increase we seek.
  7. Good spot. That reply was yesterday so it seems Grimshaw will be here at the weekend.
  8. Come and sit in the the main stand - good pa, non plastic seats, no searching or herding and you get your shout directly at Dougie Imrie from about 10 yards while he sit's in the dugout. It was magic. I jest clearly.
  9. I always quite liked Scobbie when he was first on the scene and at Falkirk. But given he is 28 in a couple of months I would be surprised if we sign him as he won't be sellable and isn't exactly in the same mould as Skippy, Pearo or McManus who have played at a higher level and bring a wide range of experience to the team at a relatively 'older' age. We do need specific left back cover short term and replacement long term however as Chalmers is never fit and Hammell won't last forever.
  10. I think he could definitely get a team in the championship or league 1 so wouldn't be surprised.
  11. No news from the press conference on Grimshaw and wasn't asked a question directly from he press. McGhee did talk about Taylor being back down south but the formalities essentially still had to be agreed as we are 'still paying him'. Assume that's because it was season deal but with the option to review in January. Sounds like he won't be back anyway.
  12. Yeah, possibly. Evidenced probably by the deals they are both on.
  13. Moult definitely. I think Johnson will have some clubs interested even this window but not enough to tempt us into selling as he hasn't shown it for long enough yet. Plenty of time though as he is signed up till 2018 like Moult. Laing does have a bit of skill about him but needs to improve a bit and play games. I see him like a Phil Jones type player when he first went to Man U. Not really good enough to be a centre half and not good enough to be a midfielder. But, I think he could be sellable in the future if we nail his position down. Fletcher really is a bit of an unknown still as he has hardly played games. I like the look of him when I see him as he seems strong. If he can get games and add a few goals that could help. Other than them I think we can be looking at the following to nurture and sell on: Kennedy - He had some cracking games before the last 2 when he was dropped. Definitely something there. He is young so will have bad games. Hall - Clear to see he has the skill and strength. I fully expect him to 'do a Kennedy' and have a bad couple from games. Will the manager drop him like he did Kennedy? Very sellable if nurtured well. Thomas - Skill is there but needs games Watt - As above Cadden - As above
  14. Fair point. Never thought of it from the angle. I don't think he would move to us. But if he did I would be happy enough with it I think. I think.
  15. He has also started to look like a different player under Warburton if you read some of the comments on twitter and reports in the press. Can't see it happening.
  16. In genersl, Ainsworth has been much better this year from a workrate and defensive standpoint but Marvin is justifiably ahead of him in the pecking order. We will lose a very good option if we sell him but it probably is the right time to maximise value.
  17. Thought quite a few would take up the the free concession offer for buying in advance.
  18. Soutter has looked good every time I have seen him. Won't be surprised to see him get a good move if he doesn't sign up again. I would be very surprised if he came to us.
  19. Robinson did well when he came on up at Aberdeen and held the ball up, created. Also thought he had a decent if not as creative 60 mins at Killie the following week. But thats probably about it in all his time here. Anyway for MOTM - has to go to Skippy for me. Thought he was a standout. Johnson, Grimshaw and Law all did well too down the right. The rest I thought had an average game.
  20. Said it earlier in the thread but I would be looking for a a penalty down the other end. So annoying as it is...I have made peace with the decision. However, I do think both Crawford and Lasley should have walked for second bookable offences before this even came about.
  21. Same team to start as we did on Saturday. No fucking about. If we are far enough ahead at half time give someone like Thomas 45mins and another couple like Fletcher and Cadden half an hour.
  22. I would have wanted it down the other end for sure. His arm was in an unatural position whether it was going at the net or not. I do not think, however he meant it. It's hard to chuck yourself at the ball with arms by your side.
  23. Our model is to sell players so if he goes and we get a good deal (which we should with 18 months to go) then so be it. Been a great player for us and would be in the future but we are a selling club and given his age and contract situation this might be the perfect time.
  24. Lasley should have had an early bath before he got sent off too. He committed two fouls after his yellow that I thought were worthy of another. So not only did the ref not send off Crawford he didn't send off Lasley before he had the chance to handball it!
