  1. So Charles Green saw a glint in Leeann's eye?
  2. Over 300 is a good bit more than we normally take and there's still a week to go. Unfortunately I don't think we'll match the QoS support last night in numbers but they seemed fairly quiet so we should be able to make more noise. I don't normally go to Ibrox but I'm going to this as I like going to lower league grounds in the cup. Fair enjoyed my trips to Brechin and Clyde a few years ago.
  3. Of course, bookies aren't really considering the odds of a team winning but what odds will make them the most money. So Rangers will always be lower odds as more people are inclined to bet on them.
  4. Was the game at Kilmarnock his only appearance? He was very unlucky to get sent off - some horrendous play acting. I thought he had some nice touches but he did look a bit out of his depth.
  5. Yeah, I was sure Dornan and Forbes went as a double deal to Wallsall. I remember thinking they could have gone somewhere better than Walsall but maybe they were paying good wages at the time.

    Levante (A)

Correct young man! He sold roses for all the girls at the pub too. Magic
  7. Do what? Cheerleading or men and Smirnoff?
  8. I think he hit the post once - that was as good as it got for Andy Roddie.
  9. He volleyed home a screamer at Cappielow from about 30 yards after they cleared it out of their box. Now that was a strike!
  10. Have to admit, I was close to tears leaving Hampden that night. Football verges on child cruelty at times! Walker's shimmy was outrageous. Bonner just threw himself out the way to leave an open goal. Edit: something very strange happened there with my attempt to quote!
  11. What level of membership gets you that?
  12. Didn't know the Flask signed for Levante! Funnily enough, none of their fans over there mentioned him.
  13. They should though. They have a much bigger budget, can pay more for players and bring in players we couldn't afford. So do a good few other teams and it just shows football isn't always as simple as who's got more money.
  14. Wasn't aware you needed to be a member now - is that all threads or just those that might attract people not interested in a reasonable discussion? Bit of a shame it's come to this but I can see why you've done it.
  15. Did anyone go to that crazy tomato thing?
  16. With the board having made it clear that our budget was cut due to the loss of two home games against Rangers, will funds now be made available following the League Cup draw which should make up for a season's shortfall (ignoring TV money). I can't remember the figure we were missing out on from the home games but, assuming their support turns out to make a point, we should be expecting £250k-£300k. I'm sure some of it will be squirrelled away but hopefully it will allow us to bring in one or two out of contract players.
  17. I had a tremendous trip and only spoke to one Levante fan but he was really friendly and they do seem to have quite a lot in common with us although they operate on a larger scale than we do. They seem to be pretty much ignored in their city - I only saw a few Valencia tops in amongst all the Barca and Real Madrid tops and no Levate tops at all. They're completely overshadowed by Valencia who don't really take them seriously but it's a huge deal to them when they have a derby. They guy we spoke to thought the last time they beat Valencia was about 6 years ago which isn't as bad as our record with Rangers! Great atmosphere in the square at the cathedral after the game and the memories of the old busker will stay a long time in the memory. The one thing that has surprised having read the comments on the game itself is how little has been made of Higdon's disallowed goal at the very start of the game. We had players in offside positions in the middle when the free-kick came in but Higdon most definitely came round the back from an onside position. I was certain at the time and I've since seen a camera recording to confirm it. Considering the decisions taken to allow their first goal in the home leg it was very annoying. Don't get me wrong, they had far more chances and deserved to go through but an early goal could have changed the whole pattern of the match. Anyway, a great trip and even the missed flight connection and lost suitcase only added to the adventure.
  18. Just their latest attempt to try and ignore the rules of football competitions. Supposedly Green came out with the notion at some point and they've taken it on as some sort of genius idea. At least one person on their forum has pointed out it would make them seem bitter and petty - the others are running with the idea but that could well be because they are bitter and petty. They keep going on about how important they are and how we voted them out the SPL - they just don't get it! The people running them got them into this mess and they lost their SPL membership. We didn't vote them out - we voted not to allow them in and break the rules of membership. The way to join the SPL is by being promoted from the league below and not by having loads of money.

Had to go for Randolph as we'd have lost by a good few if it wasn't for his saves when it was one on one.
  20. Bring back the days of Tommy McLean when the first you heard of a signing was when the club formally announced it.
  21. Arrived yesterday after missing my connection in Paris. Got next flight but unfortunately my case didn't. Just got it at hotel now so can finally get some clean clothes on! Anyway, it's a bit cooler today at 31 C but there's a decent breeze so hopefully it won't be too bad for the players and the predicted thunderstorms haven't arrived (yet).
  22. Here we go! Silly o'clock at Edinburgh airport. Good few 'Well fans about spread over various flights.
  23. Any 'Well fans going to mad tomato thingy tomorrow morning?
