    Red Cards

To be honest, I was thinking more in general terms rather than yesterday's game as those red cards were being talked about elsewhere and were unusual in that no-one (apart from MFCTV) was disputing the decisions. On a very small number of occassions I have applauded players off the park but only when I have felt they were on the end of a poor decision and didn't merit the red card. If they deserve the red card then they've let the team down and don't deserve applause for it. You might try to encourage a player who has missed a penalty or made a mistake, bu that's mainly to try and lift them as they still have a part to play - a player being sent off has nothing more to contribute, other than a suspension. Each to their own, but I'm just puzzled by it and am genuinely interested why some would choose to cheer a player who has done his team a disservice.
  2. That would make sense. I wasn't that close to them but I was surprised when I saw guys being ejected as it didn't strike me as that sort of atmosphere.

    Red Cards

Without going in to the rights and wrongs of today's red cards, I've always wondered why some people clap players as they leave the park, even if they've obviously let themself and the team down. It seemed to cause a few heated discussions today but it's certainly not a new phenomenon. I'm not saying you should shout abuse but why clap them?
  4. Great atmosphere today. Any idea why the guys were taken out?

    Fine Lasley

It was as blatant a red card as you're likely to see and I can only assume the MFCTV guys were in the main stand and didn't have the view we did. Kerr's was in the far corner but it looked more like he just took a wild swipe and kicked the guy rather than attempting a tackle.
  6. From what I've seen of him with Aberdeen, Scotland haven't too many centre halves that are better than him. He's not quite there yet but I can see him starting to be on the fringes of the squad.
  7. I think he lost some of his appeal when he went to Aberdeen when we were trying to keep him. I think that was down to his club though, rather than it being his choice, as Aberdeen were offering more money.
  8. I was forgetting Wednesday are in League 1 these days. OK, still thought he could have got a better deal down south but possibly money isn't his main priority.
  9. Quite surprised by this to be honest. Any time I've seen him play for Aberdeen he's stood out as their best defender and on several occasions he's been the best player on the park and I assumed he would move to another Championship club. It's a 4 and a half year deal so he must really like living there or Aberdeen are making sure nobody takes him without a good fee.
  10. Assuming the aim of his career is to earn money and playing games in the earlier stages allows him to progress his skills to potentially earn increased wages in the later stages, at what point does a player decide to change his priorities and just go for the cash? It doesn't sound as though Randolph is at that stage yet but he he might think differently in a few years.
  11. My wish for a day out has been granted, albeit on a different day! Official site has announced it will be played on Saturday 2nd of March at 3pm (following cup round - they've obviously decided Hibs aren't going to beat Aberdeen and get a home draw).
  12. I would think they'll be paying higher wages than we can afford to Niall Mcginn, Russell Anderson, Gary Naismith and Gavin Rae as well. I'm sure if they want to, they can pay Randolph more than we can. However, there are stacks of clubs down south who can pay much more than Aberdeen although I assumed Hayes would go south but ended up at Aberdeen.
  13. I don't really know exactly how the player development rules work but I would have thought we would have been due more for the number of years he has been with us. As for still being due a development fee in the summer, the papers were suggesting Rangers would just need to wait until Murphy's 24th birthday to avoid paying it. We can only accept a higher bid if it comes in. If £100k is the best bid that's coming in then so be it. If it allows us to turn down a low bid for Ojamma then even better.

    Aberdeen

No big deal. I just wondered what the point of it was and why there were two options that seemed to do the same thing. Didn't realise you had to click show results each time.

    Aberdeen

I think it did use to say that but it was obviously being used by those who weren't there such as Haggischomper. Maybe that's why it's no longer an option or is it up to whoever sets up the poll?

    Aberdeen

I always wondered about the purpose of Null Vote as it just skews the percentages and you can just click on Show Results. Anyway, I had to vote for Ojamma after that performance.
  17. It just shows how much the view differs depending on which area of the ground you're sitting in. I sit behind the goal in the Cooper and didn't think Higdon even deserved a yellow for his challenge never mind the red that some seemed to think it merited. It just looked as though he put his foot forward, toe first with no studs showing and everyone around me thought Reynolds' reaction got him the booking. Angol looks great in midfield and adds some strength as well as his pace going forward. In the second half I thought the substitution of Ramsden moved the defence around one position putting him at left back from where he often goes walk-about. I'd like to see him keep his place but in front of Hammell. Highlights make good vieing but they don't show Higdon's booking, probably because there was so much else to fit into the 5 minutes - which just goes to show the inconsistencies you can get with trial by television. They also missed Law's shot off the bar -but maybe that's what you get when you let an Accies supporter edit the highlights of a Motherwell game!
  18. As for our third goal, I'm told it's hard to tell from the video footage but it looks as though the defender on the other side played Murphy on.
  19. He has always said he fancies ending his career at Accies. Of course, he wouldn't have expected them to be in a higher division than Rangers.
  20. The programme is a much better read than it used to be with most of the annoying spelling and grammatical mistakes now removed. If this helps to get more people reading it and raises a bit of cash then it's a great idea.
  21. Is that not because he would wait until he's 24 before signing. It would need to be after the transfer window so he'd be a free agent but would no doubt have signed a pre-contract agreement.
  22. I take it their club shop had a stack of those scarves left!
  23. I was really hoping we could get through to play Hibs as I was looking forward to a day trip to Edinburgh. I can't make it today and wasn't go to be able to make it to the Hearts game at the end of January (hadn't realised it needed to be moved ) so this would be tremendous. I'm not going to hang my hat on the SPL showing common sense though.
  24. Like Hearts, County aren't known for setting themselves up in a way that encourages a good game.
  25. He lost his man yes but it could be argued he played his man offside. Whether Cummins also played McGinn off as well is a tight decision but I thought he did. They didn't seem to claim for offside though so it maybe wasn't deliberate. I just felt Kerr didn't get the run around he normally does but that was maybe because there wasn't much trickery in Aberdeen's attack.
