That would have been ok as the ball needs to be played forward for a player to be offside, although it would have had to have been a bit of a trundler for him to catch it. Great win though. Watched Reporting Scotland last night hoping to catch the goals as they normally show them. Instead they just stated who scored so they could fit in a piece of nonsense about what Gattuso and Jordan might have said when talking "Scottish". Utter pish.
-
This sounded a terrible miss on the radio but seeing the highlights, Humphrey had managed to get himself into an offside position ahead of Murphy. If the ball had been cut back it would have had to go behind Humphrey and then Murphy really would have been slaughtered.

We all saw the difference McGhee's training made after some of the players were transformed over a summer and we certainly gained some points through superior fitness. I though that reflected poorly on Malpas and Hegarty and particularly on the players who were obviously happy to go through the motions when they could get away with it.
-
He just loves his statistics, doesn't he? Made me wonder though, would McGhee's win percentage have been better if he'd got on that plane? Maybe loyalty doesn't pay after all. (I was going to put large salary increase instead of loyalty but obviously that does pay).

This is somehow up to 18. I can only assume people are fishing and I've bitten because he was murder (but that's for another thread). Went for Jennings - outstanding again.
-
If you watch him again you'll see all his fancy tricks are his way of getting the ball onto his better foot.

I wouldn't say Craigan has been a bomb scare recently but I wasn't at Perth. He is however, suffering from being played out of position at left centre-half to allow Hutchison to play on the right. I like Hutchison but the manager obviously doesn't fancy testing him on the left side and neither did the previous manager. This suggests we need a left-sided centre-back.

Sutton lives in the West End so it's not impossible that he pops out for a chat with Lennon, if indeed they are friends. Any talk of him going to Celtic though sounds extremely unlikely.
-
I would be amazed if he's been sent off just for saying something. If he's been accused of swearing and he doesn't swear (which has been widely reported in the past) then someone's made a mistake and should be big enough to admit it.
-
That depends what he's paying for the loans.
-
He can do somersaults - sign him!
-
I know several people have posted with a similar view but I would still like to see a left sided centre half brought in. Craigan was put to the left on Saturday to accommodate Hutchison and he looks decidedly uncomfortable there. We will lose goals as the season goes on because of it and his distribution will be even worse than normal.

And reportedly scored 9 goals in one game.
-
Would this potentially be Blackman's last game? I would doubt if his contract allows him to play January games.
-
Sounds like the sort of player who would require a fee.
-
I still think we'll go for someone with links to get Premiership players on loan which could well rule out Fenlon.
-
I still think there's a good chance Boyle will do his usual and surpise us all with someone nobody's mentioned. I can see it being someone with good contacts for loan deals as we've done well with those recently and I would be surprised if it is a rookie. We've had managers starting their career with us who have gone on to much bigger and better things eg. Davies and particularly McLeish. Unfortunately, by starting with us that's where they've made their mistakes - I'm not sure I want us to be the club for new managers to make their mistakes at again.
-
I would love Blackman to stay but don't think we have much chance as it doesn't make any sense to his employer unless they give him a new contract. However I didn't think it would make sense for Brown to go to Aberdeen, so what do I know? I also expect Brown has agreed funding with Milne to step in and take Gow to Aberdeen.
-
STV have also just mentioned they have been linked with the job but it is noticeable that there are no quotes from anyone on this. I can't see the logic in Brown going to Aberdeen as I thought the Motherwell job suited him due to his Lanarkshire links, living in Prestwick and having an elderly mother living in Hamilton whom he visits regularly. Also, both Boyle and Brown have talked about how their gentlemen's agreement suits them (although we don't know the details of their agreement). He's unlikely to have much more of a budget and have to live away from home with a lot more travelling time - does he really want that at his age? If he does go, we'll just get on with it - players and managers come and go but the club we support remains and there'll be somebody else to cheer (or shout abuse at if that's your thing). Also - is anyone else stunned to see all the Celtic adverts flashing up on the site? I take it we have no control on who advertises on the site.
-
Chick Young said on Radio Scotland tonight after the Rangers game that he understood Brown and Knox had been offered the jobs. He understood they come as a team and Brown was keen but Knox would need persuading. Hopefully just Young reading messageboards and noticing the bookies odds (which have probably just made him favourite on the strength of a few bets and the same messageboards).

I'm assuming they took more into account than whether the pitches were playable and the main roads were passable. They also probably considered whether: Roads around grounds are safe to drive on. Sides of roads are clear enough to park on. Pavements are safe enough to walk on - consider the amount of elderly people and kids who go to games. Sufficient public transport is running. If the game had been on, I can only imagine how small the crowd would have been. Not sure I'd have fancied sitting for 90 minutes in those temperatures.
-
Unfortunately, unless Blackburn are about to sign him on an extended deal, I can't think of any reason why it would be in their interest to extend the loan deal and I have to assume he will be on his way.
-
He did, but when he came back to Accies on loan last season he had piled on a lot of weight as he hadn't been playing for Burnley. He looked like an absolute carthorse and was just big, slow and clumsy. Pity as I thought he had real potential. He obviously needs to get playing regularly and get back into shape.
-
Or just a shocking penalty against Accies. I'm not confident about this one. I've seen St. Johnstone beat us (often easily) too many times by just appearing to be up for the battle and being well organised to expect anything other than a struggle unfortunately. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong.

With various teams at different ages and obviously only one first team, it goes without saying that only a few players from each age group can be kept on. It must be very difficult to try and judge who has the most potential and thankully the club pay people with more football knowledge than most of us to make these decisions. Inevitably some gems will slip through the net and we'll hold on to some that don't quite make it but hopefully those that are let go can pick themselves up and get on with finding another club where they will be given the chance.
