The majority of our players are contracted until 2028 (a good number of them have club options for that year). Fadinger was one of the last to have an expiry in 2027, and he just signed an extension. Can only follow him if we agree to sell them. Players know how the game works, and any professional worth their salt makes their own way in their profession and doesn't follow a manager. I'm also very sure most of our players knew exactly what was going to happen with JBA, and probably joined us hoping they could do the same. We're clearly trying to build a model to work from that doesn't leave us dependant on a specific manager or player to function. Kind of what you see at Brentford and Brighton, who have seen other clubs poach staff and players from them constantly, but they continue to have success. That doesn't mean we will hit the highs of this season every year, but it should mean that we don't get too sentimental about these things when they happen and make rash decisions. Whether JBA moves tomorrow or in a years time, it will be interesting to see how we handle that, and who comes in, as that will be a good indicator of how much of our success is just from JBA, and what is down to our overall leadership group.

Based on how we've operated with this new board, I'm sure we've done a chunk of business already, and we will be timing the release of that info. Slattery will get the special video treatment when his exit is announced due to the time hes been with us, and the fact he's an excellent player. Oxford seems like a big miss for him, surely he could have done better than that? Gordon probably signed a pre contract a while back, he's a solid enough Premiership player and he will have had a few suitors when the pre contract window opened. The rumor was that there was a fee arranged for the summer when Stam went back to Australia, and that would make sense for him with two very young kids. I doubt we will retain robinson unless the manager has seen something we couldn't over the last couple of weeks. If we want him to be next seasons Osong/Sule, I dont see much harm in that, but he will lilely want games to kickstart his career again. McGhee being injured (again) is a shame. His best chance at a redemption arc with us is a strong pre-season, if he's not fit in time for that hes done. We're shedding a lot of wages just woth the obvious leavers, then you have the few that we will sell, so we should be in a good position to bring in some interesting signings.

Took the easy route with JT for the two goals. There were plenty of options to choose from though. Slattery was very close to his best, with his interplay with the front three almost generating some goal of the season contenders if the final pass had come off. Said was really good in the first half, and Watt was back to his pre-injury self.

(Assuming we dont win it) I hope hearts win the league by 3 points after playing one more home game than the OF. A joint OF conspiracy crusade would sustain me through the summer. For us, I'm hoping we have a home game in the last week of the season so I can come home and see this team in the flesh just once. (I wouldn't go to Rangers or celtic away even if we could win the league there, and tickets would be tricky for the other games. ) For Saturday, Fadinger should be back, and you could see him coming in for any of the midfield 3. I'd hate to see Slattery dropped for inventing cheating, but Priestman would be very unlucky to miss out, and Watt just makes us much better. Other than that, I don't expect much rotation. It should be our best XI after a weeks rest. Utd wont be easy, and I can see them sitting in. We will once again give up a golden opportunity to the opposition in the first 5 mins, then after that hopefully we can settle into our game and be patient.

Priestman and McGinn both had excellent games, and i thought Slattery was really good as well, particularly after that relatively early booking. I went with Longelo though as he was excellent defensively, nullifying Olysanya for the most part, and made some really dangerous runs with the ball throughout the game.
