Spittal is slow, but he also scored our equalizer and has a bunch of assists this year, so wage thief is a bit much. Having a squad where he is an automatic pick isnt helping us though. Our biggest problem right now is that we have no pace at all, and sometimes pace can help paper over the cracks when mistakes are made.

It could have been a cricket score before they had their guy sent off, so I thought about Kelly, but we did concede 3. I'm going to go with Moult because I might never get the chance to do it again. He won the penalty and also allowed KVV to get more involved, which opened things up. He might also be our fastest player, but that's more an indictment on how painfully slow the rest of the team are.

We need good players, I don't care whether they're shouty or not. The scary part is that the 11 that started are probably the best we have available (given moult can't play a whole game). Not having viable options coming of the bench is killing us. We did pull it back from 2-0 down, so I'm not buying the whole "character" thing. We were pressing them up to the final whistle and they were hanging on, so we hardly chucked it. The problem is that we have too many spots occupied by lower division standard players.

Not enough said about Goss being hauled down in the box and being flagged offside, which he wasn't.

I wouldn't blame Sol for the penalty, but he's not a particularly good defender. He's had some good spells, and wins a lot in the air, but has frequent brain farts and isn't quick enough to make up for them. It was good to see moult involved in the game. I thought he was pretty sharp considering, and him and Van Veen had some nice bits of link up play. Slattery looked better, and started really well, but put us in danger a few times by going down expecting the foul.

Criminal to lose the game from the position we were in. After getting back to 2-2 I was all for us taking the risk to try for the win, but that was a cheap way to lose, once again not stopping a run.
-
Once again we're squandering the few chances we create. We were very luck not to be hosed by about 30 mins, with them missing clear chances and some great blocks from Kelly. But we've had some opportunities too. The red looked a bit soft, wasn't the cleverest tackle though. The ref didn't need to check the screen, so I assume VAR thought it was cut and dried. Losing that goal was really poor, they've cut us open in open play a few times, but to lose a header to a wee guy from a corner like that is criminal.

If he was a striker he wouldn't be missing the gilt edged chances he's had. To date he has shown absolutely no instinct in front of goal and missed a bunch of good chances a striker should be putting away. Hopefully I'm tempting fate and I'll have egg on my face by 5pm, but it's unlikely.

Last time I checked, banks don't let you pay your mortgage with potential and game time. As far as signings go, how many of us would have taken most of the signings Dundee Utd made over the last year? Just shows how difficult it is to predict future performance. It also shows how important a signing a goalkeeper is. Sleep on that and you're fucked. Hopefully we can pick up at least 3 points before the world cup, and that we can use the month off to get some of the injuries sorted. It would be nice to go into the January window not in total panic mode.

Players signing PCAs and engineering a way to get the move in January, or just leaving for better money = bad, horrible, evil, Judas Clubs tearing up contracts and offloading players fans don't like = good, getting rid of the deadwood Players letting clubs renege on contracts and not getting the money they're legally due = fantasy land When players are "let go" during a contract, it invariably means they were paid to go, and I sincerely doubt that anyone in their right mind leaves money on the table, especially in a short career like football.

I'm just hoping that KVV doesn't continue to screw up chances for others, don't want him catching the hearts defender injury curse. I can't see the team being much different from last week, as we don't have any other viable options up front. Shields at least runs, maybe something will bounce in off him. I'd be surprised if we suddenly jumped to a back three at this point, it's kind of what I want, but really don't see it happening.

They need people to phone in or discuss them online, so spouting I'll informed shite is a feature, not a bug.

Willie Collum would have simultaneously climaxed and whipped out the red card before Goss even hit the ground.
-
Can see it now, just a different angle. Shitey video here

Was this the red? I'm sure it was against spittal, where he stamped him on the way down from a jump.
-
About as bad as we've ever played for a win. Don't care.
-
You don't get away with those now, that was a nasty one from Watt.
-
You can't miss chances like the one KVV had and expect to get anything out of games, absolute sitter. We didn't play any better in the second half, but Aberdeen got sloppy and we were about to get the ball forward more and almost got ourselves a lead. Having some pace on the pitch with shields helped, but the lack of pace across our whole squad is a huge problem. In fact, just having some players who are not comically slow would be a bonus. I hope that we have the ability to make some serious changes in the next window now that Hammel has had more time. A second striker is an absolute must. Pretty woeful that when we're chasing a game in the last ten mins our only option is a like for like sub with our right backs.
-
Went for Sol. He's become a good no-nonsense center back, and wins everything. Our back four has become pretty dependable with him in it. We didn't show enough composure going forward to give it to anyone else, although Goss had a pretty good game.
-
We were flat, and the red card killed us. We made a go of it with 10 men, but didn't make a single chance all game.
-
As bad an individual performance as I've ever seen for us.
-
Well, hope we don't see shields again, absolutely woeful display today.
-
Didn't see 0-0 at half time happening. We've been very slack in midfield and lucky not to be a couple down, however we still managed to look dangerous on a couple of occasions. Shields looks way off, isn't even doing the backtracking.

Just vague mentions that it's a family situation.
