As a Duracell bunny right back, he was decent. As a mideifleder he was not. Great guy though, and I'm sad to see him go. I hope he finds a good gig where he can get regular game time.

I think Dundee really wanted to do a Watt with Lamie, i.e. use the PCA to get him in January, in the hopes that would help them stay up. Turns out that lamie being perceived as more professional than Watt threw a wrench in those plans, and now they probably want to reassess and give the new manager a cleaner slate. I think we need to resolve this PCA carry on, and reduce the window where a player can sign one, as we're going to see more and more of these shenanigans otherwise.

For about 30 minutes.

I think Scott Allan is going to queens park. He doesn't fit with our style of play either, or would take the spot we're hoping Ross Tierney will fill. Spittal isn't a bad shout, not sure if there's anything in it, but wouldn't be surprised, he'd be a good fit for us. Full rebuild mode for Ross county though.

Letting someone go who has less than a year left on their deal, and punting someone who was an ever present before getting injured, and has a brand new two year deal, are two different things. It's possible that Carroll could face that fate, since he has a year left and is behind McGinley in the pecking order, but even then, paying off someone's contract as well as paying for a replacement isn't cheap.
-
Whether folk like McGinley or not, we literally just re-signed him, he's going nowhere. The same goes for anyone else who still has a contract, unless someone else comes in for them. The likes of Efford, Goss, Carroll, and SOD have all played regularly enough that it would hard to imagine the manager trying to mutual any of them. The only player we have that could realistically be sold is Kelly. Out of those leaving, there are 3 defenders, 4 midfielders, and 2 forwards. If we're cutting the squad I could see us bringing in 3 or 4 max. We have Johnston coming back from loan, and Maguire from injury, as well the mid season signings of Tierney and Mahon.

I wouldn't be against Scott returning, if he's played in the same wide role and we also bring back Ariyibi to benefit from his dirty work. I think Hibs we're playing him through the middle, where he's less effective .

It will be interesting to see if a proper pre season makes a difference for some, including the cultural Scandinavians. I know Sheilds had an injury early in the season, and our signings were spread throughout the windows, so hopefully there will be a little more cohesion next season with a slightly smaller rebuild required. Ojala and Sol looked good initially, so I'm hoping the long season really is the issue for both of them, but Ojala runs like he needs a hip replacement, and has been subbed off frequently, so I think there's a bigger issue there.

For me, him leaving has has elevated St Mirren to no longer being one of the teams I forget are a thing. So, someone else will need to claim the spot of the last team I recall when I think of the premier league, not sure who that is yet. What a guy though. Who's our next almost one club man going to be?

I thought I was clued up on all things Motherwell, but there's a pitch under the pitch? when from? I always thought the slope was impossible to fix due to the stands or something too. Might join Twitter again for the progress pics.

Kelly deciding to get revenge on Donnelly for his shite pass by punting it at his face has been the highlight so far. Although, we are playing somewhat better. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Is he ever fit? I think Parker was essentially brought in as cover for the cup group games while we sored out our other signings. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

There's an argument to be had about how good or bad his signing policy is, but I wouldn't say he's blinkered to a particular market, when we have Sol, Ojala, efford, neirenold, and the Irish weans. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

I think we'll win this one. It's our turn. It will be the same formation with KVV in for Shields (or maybe Tierney). Tierney will get someone sent off for child abuse, and we'll break our streak of being shite against ten men by immediately sending on all our defenders. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Interesting that some haven't played on grass for the best part of five years. Must have blown their minds to be playing on grass and a hill at the same time. Hopefully the reserves/unders return to some normality next season and we can get a better idea of who's knocking on the door. Seems that a few have been training with the big team, so maybe a couple are close. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Some valid points, but where did the losing the dressing room chat come from? It looks like the players are following instructions, as we know they wouldn't be in the lineup otherwise. On Saturday during a break in the game, Slattery and Alexander had a lengthy discussion and seemed to be in agreement about whatever it was, are they just playing nice in public for the kids? We lost one prima donna and two jobbers to PCAs, it's hardly a players revolt. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Watt? O'Hara and Lamie? The latter two have played regularly even though they're on the way out. Who else is alienated? SOD is injured (or is he?) There were rumblings about Slattery, but he's been playing regularly again. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

We needed to take those chances. We looked ok on the counter, and that was our best chance of scoring. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Mccart has dropped off this season, and so has Rooney (including injuries). Either would be good for us if they got their form back, but so would half our players. Hendry is weird, they loaned him out to Aberdeen last season and killie this year. Is he high maintenance? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Sol and Ojala looked really good to start with both but tailed off to being terrible and slow, while lamie progressed from total bombscare to arguably our best defender. My guess is theyre all somewhere in the middle. I'd be very surprised if we're not in the market for a new first choice center back. I'm not going to get worked up about re-signing an experienced backup goalie, the Gillespie/Carson season was a total accident. Just like we ended up with Watt and KVV for a bit there. Was listening to a podcast earlier, and they mentioned Regan Charles Cook as the most improved player this year, which is hard to disagree with. Wonder if any of our squad could be candidates next year if we don't hunt them with pitchforks. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

QotS are bottom of the championship, and their defensive record is pretty poor. Johnstone hasn't seen much game time of late, possibly because he plays in their player-managers position. We're not good, but these guys aren't the solution. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

The larger squad is deliberate due to covid, as mentioned above. GA has said a few times he prefers a smaller squad. We have about 10 leaving in a few months by the looks of it, so would expect 3 or 4 to come in. What positions they fill is anyone's guess. McGinley isn't going anywhere wheher we like it or not. We literally just re-signed him. The same goes for anyone else under contract, especially those with another 2 years left. Unless they explicitly ask to leave and we're happy for them to, we can't afford to pay out on their contract and pay for their replacement. No one is going to come and take them off our hands, with them being shite and all. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

We were poor to a man. We pressed well for a bit, but it wasn't for anything because we were so bad on the ball. Our first touch was woeful, especially up front. Efford was the worst culprit in that regard, frequently giving the ball back to them. To lose that second goal so easily after the restart summed us up. We may have shown spirit this season by coming back so often, but that's usually because we've handed the opposition a soft goal. Carroll seems to have a habit of turning his back to shots. Don't know if that's a normal thing. I do that, but I'm not a professional defender. The penalty just wasn't. Embarrassing that the ref struck a pose, had a think, then realized it was his chance to even up the red card. Tierney, shields and Cornelius should get maximum minutes for the next four games to get them ready for next season. However, I'm concerned that the latter might just be a yard to slow for the role he has. Overall, we need to be less scared of the ball. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
