Yep, sympathy signings and nostalgia signings need to stop. Not every ex player has to come back.

Our best chance of doing well is to cobble together a decent first 11, hope they don't get injured or suspended, and supplement them with a bench of almost ready youngsters and "can do a job" types. This season we lost mchugh, McManus, Pearson, tait and hammell from the settled first 11 for large periods and as such have been totally shite. Robinson then took over with no scope to change the squad. So I'd say that between oldham and ourselves, Robbinson hasn't had the best circumstances to work with. He should be in a decent position to know who we need to recruit based on his overall time at the club, rather than someone who doesn't know the league recruiting 10 players over the summer to find out they can't cut it (a la Kampmann).
-
He had a few games in the u20s, but if our previous model is anything to go by, the new goalie coach will be largely responsible for recruiting the new guy, and I doubt he's been here long enough to make an evaluation. I think our best route is probably loaning in a keeper again, and if that's the case it will probably be one of our last appointments of the summer since that seems to be how loans go.

I don't think the length of his contract was announced. Someone on here mentioned 18 months. When he came up to help McGhee he said he had some opportunities lined up in the summer, but I don't know if the full time manager gig changed that or not.

Personally, I'll be at ease once I find out his favourite dinosaur. It would be nice if he sent me an email or two as well. Unless this was a mutual short term deal, he'll be here next season assuming we stay up.

Scottish Premiership Motherwell V Kilmarnock Tue 16 May 19:45

Many of the friends will be people who would have paid in anyway, but hopefully the initiative brings in a few extra. We've beaten them twice, and they don't have much to play for, but I doubt that makes a huge difference the second the whistle blows as far as Killie's effort goes, but If we can nick the first goal I think we'll do what we need to do to hold on. -
I think we may try to move Blyth on somehow, but bowman has as least shown some glimpses of usefulness. Does McManus have another year?
-
He's probably available now
-
By no means safe, but a home game against a safe killie side is about as kind as the fixtures can get.
-
Nerves got to the commentator there, had to make a sharp exit! Can feel his pain, that was tense.
-
What is to suggest that they are anything but completely made up?

This is what bothers me, why are we looking at the English non-league as the only place we can buy players and sell them on? Surely we could keep these nominal fees in the Scottish game and develop Scottish players to sell on just the same? Are the likes of moult and bowman cheaper? Or are English clubs just not interested in Scottish players? -
Bold statement considering our last 3 manager searches!
-
McManus was in the dugout because faddy was in the squad. Pretty sure he's been involved in coaching in some capacity for a while. We're already paying him so might as well give him something to do while he's injured.

Says a lot about our league that as terrible as we've been over a long period, our survival is currently in our (albeit inept) hands. The hamilton game is going to be a total shit show. -
Who did the South American consortium end up buying?

We have that damning trait of thinking we're a good team, while those around us are scrapping for everything. The accies game is huge, and as shite as they are they they know how to kick, scratch and cheat to a result when they need to, while we're still under the illusion we have quality. We could end up in a playoff with ICT in he last game just to avoid automatic relegation. -
I get that we were shite and lost, but we scored 2, so I wouldn't say their defense coasted it.
-
A whole bunch of our players are out of contract in the summer, many of whom are high earners, and moult is likely to be sold. The rebuild is inevitable. I assume that if we go down we'll keep on the older players who are probably done if we stay up.
-
Other than the obvious nepotism, John Davies was one of the "did well against us so let's sign him, even though he only looked good because we were shite" brigade, along with kampmann and Neil Tarrant.

Was moult scouted by our current head of recruitment or the last one? We're terrible, and every bottom six team probably has us down as 3 points in the bag right now. -

From what I saw on periscope, we're god awful. How Partick don't have 3+ I don't know, they were walking right through us. -

We're going to concede, so might as well go Kevin Keegan on them and start ainsworth, Frear, skippy, Moult, and bowman, with cadden and Pearson in the middle. Maybe this way we can score 2. -

Lionel is the only attacking option on the bench, so I reckon Blyth will get another 15 mins unless we choose to bring on lasley and play with 2 up top. -
