  1. I was expecting a few reports of prospective managers being in the stand, then trying to figure out what team he was there for. Going by the lack of substantive rumours I'm guessing we held off to see what today's result was before getting serious with the search.
  2. I can't stop watching that
  3. Would those at the game say that Robinson made a difference? By all accounts we were lucky to get to half time 1 down, and then there was the last minute penalty miss. I don't want to take he shine off what was a great win, but I'm skeptical as to whether this could be considered a "new manager bounce" and curious if anyone saw a different approach.
  4. Henrik Larsson isn't in a job. Absolutely nothing in it, but I'm hoping we don't go down the old firm legend route either way. Out of the names mentioned so far, I'd go with coyle as well.
  5. I agree, if we go with Robinson there wasn't much point in sacking McGhee.
  6. It's only lunchtime, so the whiskey will have to wait. but as shite as relegation would be we are in a position where the club's very existence isn't at stake, at least in the short term. We also aren't in a position where we are stuck with a bunch of expensive contracts, and still have saleable assets. So although it would hurt, I'm far more confident that we could bounce back than I was 2 years ago. But, I think we'll stay up anyway.
  7. I'd agree that our u20s success will at least mean that we aren't tasked with signing a whole team for the championship if we end up there, and I think there's a decent amount of quality in there that we could challenge in the top half. I also agree that going down wouldn't be disastrous, but would still be a kick in the baws. As said above, fighting to stay up, with occasional forays into the top 6 is pretty much our level, which is nothing new.
  8. The rise of simo valakari ousted Luc from top spot. I kind of like the idea of simo, but he's essentially Ian Barraclough with the added allure of being an ex player who was one of the shining lights in a dying team.
  9. It's a no brainer, he gets a regular paid gig and doesn't need to worry about finding a job in a year when the folk that work for him start phoning it in.
  10. I'll just spend from now until the hour of disappointment pretending it's Ryan Giggs, demoting lasley to housewives second favorite, and having to say things like "dingwall's a hard place to go to" and "we had to double up on dougie imrie".
  11. He knows the Scottish game, and the size of the club, so if he's willing to talk he should pretty much know the score.
  12. Just to add to the fear factor, the following are available: Danny Lennon, Steven Presley, Paul Dickov, John brown
  13. Burley, coyle, Mcleish, simo, vdg, or Davies. Need to keep the comeback gimmick going.
  14. Going on the past few years, the betting markets are a good indicator of who it isn't going to be. The questions I have are: Is billy stark still unemployed? Do we still need to contact nijholt by phone, or can we drop him an email? Is Stuart Baxter a real person? and who will the ridiculous foreign interest be this time?

    Mcghee Out?

Maybe he can do a Tommy Mclean and leave Raith after a week.
  16. I can't see past Robinson getting it. I also predict that ainsworth will play out of his skin for two games and get another 2-year deal.
  17. Bowman also called Robinson the assistant manager in his interview, which I'm sure was just a mistake, but good for the conspiracies anyway.
  18. I love rumours, better than this new fangled fake news. I'm guessing that if we sack him, the replacement until the end of season will be announced at the same time. He will then keep us up, get an ainsworth and Laing style thank you contract, then we'll sack him next march.

    Mcghee Out?

Didn't say I was happy for him to stay, did you stop reading after first line? My point was that I don't see what it will achieve whether he leaves or not, other than the mythical new manager bounce, because the replacement will be internal.

    Mcghee Out?

They got to write another sign. That's nice.

    Mcghee Out?

I'm not sure what him leaving now will achieve, but I'm not keen on him renewing at the end of the season, so don't care if he goes now. If he does, I can only see a caretaker replacement from within such as Robinson or craigan, partly due to cash but mainly because it's too late to embed new ideas.

    Mcghee Out?

I think he's good enough to keep us up, evidenced by our decent record against the teams around us. Whether he stays beyond that? I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. I am pretty sure our next manager is already at the club, so I don't see how that would change our fortunes drastically, we're going to be a mid-to-bottom of the table team for a while. I would like for us to diversify our signing policy a little, and recruit guys who play in Scotland and aren't total punts, but I don't think a new manager changes our signing policy.
  23. Didn't think Jules did anything of note, and took some pretty poor touches in the first half. When moved to left back he hardly stood out. Can take a throw in though. Lasley had one of his better games, and moult worked hard, but I'd go with cadden as he was the only player who looked like threatening.
  24. We did get a free kick and a hearts player booked for ainsworth tripping up moult, so the ref was an equal opportunity fuck up.
  25. We were terrible with 3 at the back, and ainsworth was anonymous as a striker. It wasn't a red, but with 3 such decisions in short succession we probably need to reassess how we go in to some of these challenges. We looked a better team with 4 in the midfield, as cadden was suddenly more effective. hopefully we set up more to our strengths in the future rather than trying to be too clever. Is hammel pretty much done now?
