From the timing, I was pretty sure he was signed in time as well. I remember an interview where Gammon said he was going to be signed in time but that it wasn 't fair to stick him on the first flight to Albania. But then the day after the deadline had passed I'm sure i read an interview where he said he hadn't been signed on time.

Any further ideas why the penalty had to be retaken? BBC are reporting that it was due to encroachment by the Albanian. In my book that means it should stand and only have been retaken if the kipper had saved the initial kick.

I suppose when you look at things from their point of view, Motherwell, 7th in the SPL, shit for a lot of last season and only qualifying through the Fair Play award is a nice little draw. From ours, them qualifying (luckily by all accounts) as cup winners and fighting relegation last season looks a nice draw as well. We know as much about them as they do about us - but if we underestimate them we could be in for a very embarrassing result. Would be happy with any draw, or maybe even a 2-1 defeat.

I think the score is that at this point in time, there is no guarantee of any money at all from TV for the foreseeable future. This season's money has been covered by the SPL, but ATM there is no money for next year, and on to the future. Although it is most likely there will be some kind of deal, until teams know what it is, how much, how long for, and how much of a cut they will get, they are unlikely to spend any money in reserve, or that they have gained from punting their players. EDIT: Killie have also stated that they won't be bringing anyone in, and Rangers have basically said every player they have is available.

Until a new tv deal is sorted out, I'd imagine all the cash in and saved wages will be filling the hole that had been left, and our wage budget will be considerably smaller. I'd be amazed to see any real wad out activity until that is sorted. Balance the books first, invest in the squad later.
