I'm not sure about the move for Clancy, the guy is a full back and wouldn't appear to fit the profile of centre half that can play right back unless SMC has seen something that no-one else has.

Jamie Murphy must be so bloody frustrated. What more does he need to do to get a look in with Scotland? I know this thread may need to be moved to Tartan Army but wanted to ensure the masses were aware. Murph has again been overlooked for the latest Scotland squad, but yet the likes of James Forrest, Barry Robson, Danny Wilson and ofcourse Goodwille are included. Murph plays 90 mins week in week out, unlike some of the above. He has shown he can play in multiple positions, unlike some of the above and has the skill to unlock or run through defences again unlike some of the above. IMO - Levien has needs to take off his Arab / Old Firm or ex-Old Firm glasses for the good of our national team!

Can't help but think that this will turn out to be anoth missed commercial opportunity - how many fans (kids & adults) would have loved to have the new top on their backs for the season starting? You would never see either of the old squirm go into a season without the fans being able to purchase the new kits!

called yesterday to re-new my ST - was told ticket line was busy so they would take details and call back. 30 mins later to their credit I got call back, but from same girl to say still busy she said she would take details and process to save me waiting. took full ST details debit card details and said that was fine I could pick up from office. i asked if it needed to be me or could my wife collect and was told ok for wife to collect. my wife went down today to collect - what a shambles! was aksed name and girl went away, few minutes later she came back and said sorry forgot name! so took name again and went away again, then came back and asked was it cash or finance - very un-happy question was asked in front of other fans. she then took full stand seat row and number details and still couldn't find the order basically. so wife had to leave frustrated and empty handed! just gone back to bank account to find they haven't even processed the order! - not being funny but given our smallish ST base this isn't a hard task to co-ordinate and manage and it is yet again another example of the shambles that is FP admin. tried to call to discuss but when hitting option 2 for ST's got nowhere so will update when i do eventually get through!

imo - he had a similar start to the juke with a lot of expectation on his shoulders. maybe he could have also came good if he had been given a full season.

Scott Burns in the Express today suggesting that Bolton & QPR are both looking at Murphy. Several Championship clubs also interested but he would prefer EPL. Interesting given Coyle's knowledge of the SPL and Warnock's links with SMC. However given that QPR owners don't appear to want to back Warnock on any transfers is this just 2+2=5 to fill a gap?

Heard B;ackburn boss Steve Kean on the radio the other night and he was talking about the Duiff... any way he went on to talk about the Blackburn players who had been up here on loan last season and mentioned Blackman, Dorran, and others. He said that next week he would be speaking to the players and the clubs they had been at and if they wanted to return on loan he would be open to that! So maybe Gunning comes back on loan?

I think we need a big target type striker and Murphy can't fill this role. Is Gary Smith up for that job or should we look elsewhere? Higdon out of contract at St Mirren - possibility?

It is funny as even in the build up to Saturday and you talk about legends, you automatically think of Kirk, O'Donnell, Cooper, Arnott....... The team Captain as he was features a long way down that list and even further now!

In the league game we went 4-5-1! Jeffers injured and Forbes came in as the extra in midfield - Humph & Murph kept Emilio & Wilson quiet.

Have to say I agree. From early in Saturday's game I could see that Davis & Edu were getting too much space against Las and Jenno and we should have stuck Hately in there. I think the formation we played when we beat Celtic 2-0 serves best - it is a 4-5-1 when required as that keeps their full backs covered and we can break quickly as a 4-3-3 with the speed of Murph & Humph. I think we need 3 in centre mid as the Celtic centre will be stronger this time with Kayal in there.
