  1. Could it be that going above the 10k mark would trigger another payment to the tax man so keeping the official figure low???
  2. No mention if payment includes interest or late charges - would like to think we got what was owed and a little bit more, with a credit rating like Cardiff's we should be charging more APR that QuikQuid!!!
  3. Noticed the Robins have signed a few strikers this week - what chance of Clarky getting loaned out?
  4. If the Cooper is sold out - does anyone know if the club will extend the 'family' ticket deal to the South?

    Ins & Outs

I'd be very surprised if we did any business before the Europa game. A win on Thursday and our profile extends out to a lot more players. This coming weekend could be a very interesting time to e a 'Well fan if we make it the Europa group stages. I'd imagine that with the EPL teams due to submit their 25 player squads they may see the chance to get some players out on loan with the chance to shine in the Europa league as a shop window! If we don't make it through the Quinn money may still allow us to boost our squad with a lower profile signing.
  6. Cardiff Chief Exec - Lawyers have been in touch with Motherwell and this will be resolved within 7 days. Lets see if this is confirmed by Boyle - If yes we could squeeze in another signing before the window closes.
  7. Can't Man City pay it for us? Failing that I reckon we counter sue them for breach of trade and descriptions act. Love that quote!!!
  8. I reckon Boyle got as much time as the feedback from other Championship clubs is that they are raging with the Bellamy deal but none of them had the bottle to front up and moan - we did!!
  9. Walked past me when I was dropping kids at school next to FP this morning - so still here!

    Ins & Outs

Just watched the CB interview on the beeb website to quote him on potential new signings - 'There is no budget at the moment, we would hope that the purse strings could be loosened if we progress' Think this entire thread goes on the back burner until we know the outcome of the next 2 crucial games!
  12. To me McDonald was a highly rated player who lost his way under McGhee at Aberdeen. This could possibly be seen by the club as a chance to sign a player up, get him back on track and then sell on for a bit of money? I know he is another central mid ut I think he's more of a creative type than defensive like Las & Jenno. We also have to be realistic in that Jenno has signed a 1 year deal and if he has a good start to the season could well move south come January and at that time Bosman's such as McDonald are probably gone. On another point I listened to an interview with Mick McCarthy last night and I think this 25 player rule for the EPL is going to cause mayhem come the last week in August. They will have a group of players that can't get in the 25 but they can't really risk selling as if injuries come up they would need to pay inflated prices come January. We might even pull a right gem who then has a huge point to prove, wages wouldn't be an issue as the EPL clubs need to keep them as their player and therfore just want them playing games.

    The Duke

Just in relation to this - quick question how many former 'Well front men will be playng in the Championship this season??
  14. IMO Leanne Dempster has made huge efforts to communicate with fans and keep them updated where possible (much more than ever before!). Comments like this one will do nothing to encourage open communication between those running the club and the fans. These things take time, and I don't think there is any real need for panic yet. Reading one of flow's posts in the LD off the ball thread suggests again that there is MUCH more to come in relation to the community club front that Leanne mentioned in her sponsorship reply. Patience - good things come to those who wait!

All the best big man - became a legend on one leg, god knows what would've happened if he'd had the use of both!!
  16. If the Norwegians have been studied and are deemed a 'good' draw then I would suggest we go against them with what we have and try to get through. if we get to the play-off round we will have the 2 previous rounds cash from Uefa and if it is a tasty draw we could get a decent home gate and maybe TV money, this would then give us a better stash to use to really strengthen for the SPL.

    Game On Sunday?

When listening to Radio Scotland after the game last night they were talking about the travel chaos for next week's game. They mentioned we had a game on Sunday and then the potential travel on Monday. Anyone know if we have a game on Sunday and who it is against? Given that the Norwegian side use an astro pitch could we playing at Airdrie to get in some practice or would that be to risky against our neighbours?
  18. Yes indeed and with Ledley going to Celtic for nowt the money he had budgeted coming in has dropped. Does anyone know where we would stand as a creditor if they went into admin I take it we would be well down after HMRC etc. Did we owe any clubs money for transfers when we entered admin??
  19. Strong rumours doing the rounds that Faddy could be set to move to Celtic for £2.5m he is entering final year of contract at Birmingham and may be lured by chane to play in the Champions League. What reception would he get from the FP faithful?

    Ins & Outs

If the Coventry move is true - good luck to big Juke hope he does well. Think he might have to fight for a chance in the team though as they already have Freddie Eastwood and have just signed McSheffrey from Birmingham and O'Donavan from Sunderland (yes he of Utd fame from a few seasons back!)
  21. Lots of similar discussion has already started on the Ins & Outs thread but thought we might have a dedicated thread on this. What would 'Well fans see as success this season? Same as last year, Top 6, Good cup run??? With the financial handcuffs placed on Craig & Archie, they will have done well if -----? Views?

    Ins & Outs

I think this is the big worry - can we even maintain a status quo from last season. Hearts have improved their squad. Hibs have also added. Utd haven't been as affected as many thought they would be (although this may change with Rangers having a little cash to spend). So of last years top 6 outwith the Old Firm, only 'Well have gone backwards in squad strength so far. We've lost Ruddy, Coke, JOB & Juke - yes Randolph has come in and may do well but we have lost our biggest flair player and best striker and must replace these or at least try to. If the worst happens and we get bumped out tomorrow - what chance the small available budget will disappear altogether!

The rule with any loan signing and any perm signing for that is that they need to add something to the squad that we don't already have or be better than what we have in that position. Personal issues cannot come into it, this needs to be for the better of the club. Paul Slane - could be better than what we have in the wide position, he hasn't had the chance to show consistency (through his choice) but from what we have seen could improve our squad. IMO I don't think he'll come back but I'm sure Paw Broon will make the best call. Scott Severin - I don't think he's better than what we have either at centre half or centre mid, however should Reynolds go he may well be a good loan signing to cover numerous positions. Not at the expense of youth in Hutchinson but to add experience - especially if we manage to make the Europa league stage. Again IMO don't think he'll come, he wants first team football and is going on loan as he can't get that at Watford and I don't think we would guarentee that either.
  24. NL Leisure with use of new 'Craig site and incentives for season ticket holders to use fitness facilities??

    Ins & Outs

Thanks, that's exactly what I meant. I've no idea if Everton would be interested, but would you think given potential, stage in career, contracts left they could be valued at exactly the same. If either player is allowed to run down their contract and then move on cross border both teams miss out on any cash anyway.
