It'll be a big test for the back four. They definitely need the midfield to actually turn up. If Donnelly and Polworth are playing again we are fucked. Allan Campbell needs to up his game as well.
-
Trevor has been brilliant for us but we need our money on the park, not the bench. We are desperate for a holding midfielder, a striker and another winger.
-
There was plenty of stuff which had nothing to do with the pitch. Constantly trying to play the ball through Dunne, waiting an hour to go long and wide and our midfield being horrific for the entire 90 minutes wasn't down to the pitch. Ilic on the right wing made no sense, every time he gets the ball he is turning the wrong way to get onto his left side. The positives were a good performance from Carroll, Dunne defended well, Gallagher and Tait were ok and Hylton showed flashes. Devante Cole showed promise when he came on as well and will hopefully be able to start next week. The low point of the game was having a free kick inside their half and passing the ball into our half to Dunne. That's a poorly coached team.

It would be good to see the club coming out against plastic pitches. Fans are being robbed.

This is spot on.

Another Robinson masterclass. We should see if Turnbull wants to choose the tactics during his recovery because the manager doesn't have a clue.
-
You can still buy them online from Livi and Motherwell were selling them during the week. Anyone who didn't do that will have to queue twice. Edit - Just checked and you can't buy our tickets online any more. We might have sold out the three sections they gave us.
-
If everyone has tickets to get through the turnstiles it shouldn't take long. It's the muppets who are surprised they have to get their cash out when they get to the front of the queue that usually hold things up.

Ticket prices for Motherwell fans at Hamilton Accies
steelboy replied to Toxteth O'Grady's topic in Club Chat
Aye we can't really greet about 25 when we charge 24 (and more for the Old Firm). I've not been to Accies for a while anyway, it's always a shite game. -
Main is injured according to McInnes.

I thought Sloth looked like he had a bit of authority about him in his 45 minutes. Given how little experience we have in the front half of the team then I'd definitely start him if he's fit enough.

Our first game of the season is unfortunately on a complete monstrosity of a pitch. We showed a lot of potential in the cup games but this fixture will be more of a battle and will be our first genuine defensive test and probably a shock for new signings. Despite that I think we can get the win as Livi have lost their most important players at the back in Gallagher and Halkett as well as Liam Kelly in goals and Ryan Hardie up front. They will possibly have Nicky Devlin and Jack McMillan as fullbacks so you have to hope our new wingers can make an impact against two players we released. Gillespie Tait Gallagher Dunne Carroll Ilic Sloth Donnelly Campbell Hylton Scott I'd like to see the wingers switching sides and playing close to Scott. This will definitely be a "win the right to play game" so hopefully the team will be ready for a scrap.
-
Ideally Scott should be going out on a 6 month loan but at the moment it looks like he will be our main striker. It'll be a physical challenge for him but if he starts well we will have another major asset in the squad. It might be useful to get a specialist striker coach in who has experience playing up top to work with him and teach him some dark arts.

Hearts don't look great at the moment. They will probably sign more players but maybe not in time for this game. They are nothing to be scared of at Fir Park.
-
Brett Long saved a couple of penalties as East Fife beat Hearts in a shoot out.
-
Scott will need to start next week. I haven't seen Cole yet but Long didn't offer much at all. He's definitely not a lone striker. Sloth looked good when he came on, he showed some class on the ball and upped the pace a few times. I thought Polworth was poor, it was another game where he basically had to drop back to the defence to get on the ball. Semple looked promising, nice passing and played with his head up, the ball through for our second goal was just about the only decent bit of play in the first half. Our tactics weren't up to much. Two wingers who we struggled to get on the ball and when they managed to get it we had absolutely nothing in the box for them to aim at. Illic looks like he has something but i'm not sure what we are going to get out of playing him on the right hand side.

Big Nade for lasting 90 minutes.
-
He made 13 starts and 9 sub appearances scoring 5 goals for the 11th/16 placed team in the First Belgian Amateur division. His club managed 9 wins with 30 goals in 30 games. Casagolda was playing at a higher level last season.
-
24 years old and never played a professional game. If he is any good it will be incredible scouting.
-
By the looks of it he's not even been to America.
-
He will never play MLS. He will be loaned to Oxford then sign for Oxford.
-
We definitely lack quality in midfield just now. Polworth's set pieces were dire as well.
-
We stalled Cadden's development for 18 months due to our hoofball 3-5-2 and generally dire tactics which changed every 30 minutes. He probably wasn't happy about his role but he always gave 100%. He might not feel that he owes the club anything after that.
-
Gallagher was the stand out. I thought Alan Campbell disappeared in the second half.
-
I thought Maguire was out his depth. He's never good enough on the ball to play centre mid.
