That's the third game in a row where our starting tactics were to set up for a nil-nil and hope for the best. On a day when we should have been looking to change our style and build on the decent stuff we played second half at Firhill we packed the centre of the pitch and kicked high balls to strikers who aren't cut out for this level. Our attacking play is awful and we are unable to play the ball out of defence so we are forever battling for second balls and players either have no passing options or they are trying to pass a bouncing ball under pressure. Bringing in Grimshaw and the LB who have both contributed nothing rather than an actual left back is terrible management. Plus points today are Newell looked sharp and has to be ahead of Fisher now and Tanner was good again. It's unbelievable that Tanner didn't start the previous two games and you get the impression that Robinson is playing favourites with comments after Tynecastle and Firhill having a go at players then blanking Fisher when he went off today. Managers usually start that shite when they are trying to deflect from their own failing and Robinson's continually shocking starting line ups and the fact that the only tactic he is willing to stick to is boot it up the park don't bode well for us going forward.

I watched Rose on Saturday. During the first half he made three passes. Two five yards back and one ten yards sideways. All in our half. He didn't win the ball once. Didn't get close to tackling a Hearts player until the 40th minute. Headed it once in the entire half. Didn't show for the ball to feet (just tried his usual run in the corner party piece). It was a complete horror show and completely hung Campbell out to dry. Frear is too passive. He hides out on the wing and when he gets the ball he is hesitant. I was obviously wrong about Blyth. I forgot he started the Accies game and came on as a sub at Firhill. It still raises the question of what Robinson was thinking.

Aye Wee Dan was worse. Woods could at least touch the bar and kick the ball over the halfway line.

The last time we played at Firhill Robinson started Jules and Blyth which raised questions about whether he had any ability to judge players. We had some dreadful performances on Saturday and while Bowman will have to play Petravicius, Frear and Rose should be getting a night off. There have been quite a few players riding on the effort of others this season and getting a pass while putting in Craig Clay level performances. Without Moult we need a serious rethink about tactics as launching long balls and playing the percentages isn't going to work without him.

We'd be as well sticking coupons on to raise money as relying on a sell on fee. The proportion of players who move for a fee is tiny. Better players than Moult move on frees.
