Why would you think that? What Fletcher is saying and what has happened seems pretty clear.
-
Sinclair was fine so what was violent and dangerous about it? He'll have been tackled like that hundreds of times. The SFA have altered the interpretation so effectively the referee is always right (even a wee prick like Dallas). The end result will be more games spoiled by needless red cards and utter tedium as people argue about every robust challenge. If they were changing the rules for player safety there would be no argument but who has been injured by hefty tackles this season?
-
It wasn't violent or dangerous. Just a guy who can't tackle trying to show a bit of effort.
-
Stevie Thompson seems to think everything constitutes a red card. Shouting for Vigurs and Draper to be sent is a joke from an ex pro who wasn''t shy about throwing his weight around.

If we replace McGhee we will get many applicants to choose from as we always do. Whether the club go down the inexperienced, tried and tested or outside the box route is down to them. It's quite funny that Captain Oats mentions Stubbs and Hughes as his bad examples, they are both trumpets but they both won the Scottish Cup. If our next manager achieves that no one will be pining for McGhee.... If McGhee is going to stay beyond the summer he'll need to make some decent signings. You can argue all day about the merits of Tait, Henneghan and McHugh but next season we will have no established attacking players at the club and whoever is in charge will need to bring players who can contribute in the final third on a consistent basis.

Or the SFA changed the criteria to make getting reds over turned more difficult so the refs look useless. -

There's a chance they would stick an extra game on like they did with Lasley last season if we appealed. -
I have seen Blyth twice at Fir Park and once on a stream from Ibrox. At no point did in any of three appearances did he make any kind of positive contribution and the kind of things he was attempting to do in the two games at Fir Park suggest that he's not much of a player. Even something as simple as being a target for a shy up the line he was struggling at. You can't properly judge a player in 40 mins but you can see who is never a player. Bowman started against Partick and Hearts and looked a long way short of the required standard. I expect he will get a few more opportunities but he's not looking likely to be a good addition.

I don't think there is any mystery. When they have played they have looked like complete haddies, if they are struggling at training they aren't going to get a game.

I agree with this. I remember Hutchy getting a few bookings for perfect tackles just because the refs seemed scared of the size of him. Danny Lennon actually said a booking he got at St Mirren was the worst he'd ever seen. I don't think it's a coincidence that the ref that allows the most physical game is Madden. Guys like Dallas, Collum and most of the rest of them look they like some sort of auto immune disorder. People have been parroting for near enough two decades that we are too focused on size and the result is now we have probably the smallest international squad in Europe and zero decent centre halves and strikers. -
Cadden seemed to struggle to know who he was meant to be picking up first half. Looked lost. McManus and Heneghan were decent.

As i said on another thread with the players available today the first 50 odd minutes was the best we could have hoped for. We were creating some chances and keeping them relatively quiet. Some people have been ready to write Lasley off but the difference between his performance today and Clay last week was huge. Lasley must have been in double figures for winning the ball back and beyond that he was pressuring there midfield. Last week the Rangers midfield knocked the ball about like a training session and we were miles of them. Today 10 vs 11 was more competitive than the second half last week. -
McGhee got it right today with the players available to him. With a wee bit of luck we could have been winning at half time and the tactics were working until the red card. He has to take the blame for the lack of squad depth but that's another issue.

5-3-1-1? I like the look of that team anyway. Hopefully Jules can handle Bjornsen at set pieces because Heneghan can't. -

He wasn't when he started against Hearts the last time. -

He doesn't have any more attacking options though. -
He was paired with Josh Law in that game..... I'd have Lasley and Pearson both in. Watching Rangers pass the ball round us 10 vs 10 was sickening, it was similar story when Las went off against Aberdeen. Clay and Lucas are ghosts when we don't have the ball.

I was convinced it was the worst dive i've ever seen. He was out for almost a year...... He died in a car crash. Was a good player.

Hopes Cathro is a massive success, think Craggs is mediocre. Belter. -

So Cadden playing off Moult? Lionel on the right? Bowman starting against them again would be disappointing. -

The Hearts fans are besmirching Craggs live on TV. Hopefully we can avenge him this Saturday. -

He quit to join MK Dons and seems to be doing well. I would wager getting away from Levein was part of his decision. -
Port Vale put in a bid earlier in the window but apparently it was derisory.

Hearts have signed a load of new players. 9 new signings plus a manager who seems to be under major pressure already. Also from the last time we played them at Fir Park Souttar and Paterson are out, Watt has left, Djoum is at the African nations and Rherras may or may not be back. With Moult and McDonald up top we should be able to get at them. If Rangers beat them tonight they'll need the win more than we do.
