it said leitch in the paper earlier this week

Against SPL sides we've scored one goal (from a corner) with lawson on the park. No way should he start on Sunday.

Playing for extra time against ten men. Brilliant.

Mcleish has a cabinet full of winners medals as a manager, two promotions and big wins with Scotland. McCall was a disaster at Bradford and has done an ok job, he finished 3rd with the third best squad and 2nd with the second best squad but when he had to show some managerial skills in the summer he failed miserably. His record in difficult games is abysmal with 1 goal in the combined 18 games we've played in European competiton and against the old firm away from home. He's also took a club that had something like 40 clean sheets in the 100 games prior to him arriving and decimated the defence to the extent that we have only kept 9 clean sheets in the 60 games since the start of last season. You would assume that is the sort of thing clubs would look at when hiring a manager. I didn't expect us to stay well ahead of the city clubs this season but I didn't think we would fall back so far either. A signing policy that can best be described as 'old and slow' slow left us looking to a converted fullback who hasn't properly established himself as a pro and a winger who was available for the entire summer and ignored until we got desperate to create something in a massive game. He had money to spend and everyone on here knew we had to bring in creativity yet we didn't. Nielsen, Kerr, lawson, vigurs and McFadden have contributed nothing. McManus looks the part sometimes but our highly paid experienced defence still ships more goals than the blue square players Inverness are paying buttons to. I don't think expecting signings who contribute or to be occasionally entertained is asking too much.

Typical comments from McCall moaning about a decision rather than taking responsibility for the tactics and the poor preparation. Did he say anything about McFadden or subs on MFC TV? It must be dawning on him that he'll never manage at a decent level down south now. We're stuck with him and his signings until the end of next season when I'd expect him to do a peter Houston and walk away, he better figure out a way to improve the boring pish his team are serving up week in, week out.

Considine out jumped hutchy for the first goal but as I said 8 vs 4 shouldn't come down to 1 vs 1. The second goal Hayes outpaced hammell. No blame attached, just the regular counter attack goal we lose all the time.
-
I thought hutchy was outstanding until the goal and I think that was down to fatigue. A corner with 8 vs 4 shouldn't come down to a one on one duel in the six yard box anyway.

Clearly we need to sign Richie Britain and rocco Quinn next summer.

after mccall's comments about the rules for handball simeone should ask him if we're only allowed to make two subs. That's the second game in a row where we have created nothing and not used all our subs. Mccall's a good manager for keeping the ship steady and we'll usually beat inferior teams but anything that requires a bit of thought is beyond him. His record in cup and european games is shocking and his recruitment policy this summer made zero sense and now we're paying for it. 15 games into the season and we've barely played any decent football.

Any thoughts on our starting 11 for tomorrow. Aberdeen seem to be lining up 4-2-3-1 these days and packing the middle of the park has worked well for them against us. I hope he plays 4-4-2 with.zfa and ainsworth and gets at them but I've got a feeling we'll see lawson starting and Anier out wide. Considering that we always concede we need as many attacking options as possible.
-
It looked like we were going for a nothing each looking at team McCall chose but he obviously still doesn't realise that he is incapable of sending a team out who can keep it tight at the back. He was on the radio talking about how bad we were but he didn't change anything until we were two nil down and only made two subs which was a joke. After they scored he barely flinched and didn't send any instructions on at all. What can you expect from the team when the manager gives the impression he's not bothered. Having lasley and carswell playing the wide roles in the diamond meant they had to keep looking outside rather than get properly involved and the game passed them by. The Dingwall 2 aren't good enough, vigurs is an impostor and lawson doesn't contribute anything apart from a few World Cup passes out to the fullback. The second goal summed him up. Mchugh put in a decent shift but he's not up to it. We should bring erwin back and see how he gets on against SPL defences.
-
We've got a full squad apparently. So we have McFadden, vigurs, ainsworth and zfa fighting for two positions. I think he'll start vigurs and ainsworth.
-
Even if vigurs was 'shit hot' going forward he would still be a waste of a jersey for being so lazy off the ball. As things are he has contributes fuck all going forward and almost givevs away a goal in most games he has played. There is no place for players who think they don't have to work hard.
-
I don't know how much McManus is getting but I don't think he is performing like your highest paid player should. 3 clean sheets in 13.... I thought Faddy was up and down last season and his last performance at Perth was awful. I would have signed him for this season but I didn't know that he wouldn't be able to get fit. McCall obviously didn't know either. I would not have signed two career first division players with no pace.
-
I criticised higdon when he wasn't playing well. When he was in form from the st Johnstone game in January I always had him in my team. I can't understand why we signed the Ross county players this summer, expecting guys who are career lower league players to perform for us is madness. Signing Kerr was charity. McFadden and McManus is a question of principle, do you want to spend your money on guys who are experienced or still got their best days ahead of them? If we play well in the next two games I'll give out plenty of credit.
-
It would be trolling if I said vigurs, lawson, McFadden, McManus and Kerr had been shite signings but really thought they were ok. I genuinely think they have been awful and apart from McManus you couldn't say any of them have a single good game between them. McManus looks the part for long stretches of games but seems to be at fault for a fair amount of the goals we concede. I doubt he's cheap and we're not doing any better than last season defensively. Sitting third is good. Looking at out performances game by game it's hard to say that we are performing well or even played well over 90 minutes. We've beat the six shite teams and drawn with united but we are yet to beat a decent team and the best teams we have played have beat us at a canter. We will have a better idea where we are after the next two games.
-
Just the way I see it and I'm not just saying it on here so here so it's not trolling. We had money to spend in the summer and if we had looked beyond on our own doorstop we would have got better results.
-
What were ramsden's tunes?
-
Vigurs is the laziest the player i'ver ever seen. Nielsen's double save in the first half came directly because he wasn't interested n tracking back. The money we are wasting on him, the other ross county player, McFadden, McManus and Kerr is gutting. We've barely played any football this season and we are looking like faves for second, if we had brought in some quality we'd be certs.
-
Scrub that. The other spur is still open. It's closed from Newton to Larkhall.
-
If Hollis plays all season do we give him a new contract (and a pay rise) or try and get a better keeper in. It's a grim thought that Hollis could be our first choice keeper for years. The Aberdeen game has to be the best 11 on the park so unless Hollis makes more errors to go with the ones at Parkhead in the next two games he'll be starting.
-
i'd give faddy a chance here if he's fit to play, this is the most straightforward game we'll get for a while and we need to see whether he can be trusted at perth and in the cup game. we should be looking to knock a few past hearts and put down a marker that we are taking 9 points off them before they depart to the lower leagues. big sutty to move ahead of the entire hearts squad combined in the spfl goalscoring charts.
-
they were miles better than us. as CoF says it was the complete lack of ambition we showed from the first kick of the ball that is the problem not being beaten. it's a sore one when you realise you have paid 26 quid to watch your team make no attempt to win.
-
does he share an agent with humphrey?
-
it was the only game we were playing on saturday so we should have tried harder to score. that game was a complete waste of time and money for every motherwell fan that paid in. playing more postively against celtic isn't going to effect our results in any other games so going on about partick or dundee isn't relevant here.
