we've got nothing up front, no pace in midfield and look shaky at the back but apart from that we're doing well. Good strike from vigurs but he reminds me of forbes. We need faddy plus a right back, a right winger and a striker.
-
we'd take 10,000 no problem
-
if we sign them then it will be great. it's just worrying that we might have put all our eggs in the one basket with two players who you would expect to get offers we can't match.
-
you've pulled out two trialists from the last ten years. How many bodies have we had in that time that didn't work out? We should obviously always be on the lookout for gems to compliment the squad but when we're needing guys to put a starting lineup on the field there should be a bit more planning going on. What if all the trialists turn out to be pish which is what usually happens? I think we are paying the price for mccall's daliance with sheff utd followed by the scotland trip followed by his holiday.

dunfermline and dundee have highlighted the gap between the first and the spl. Ross county only kicked on when they got rid of most of their haddy first division defenders. St mirren almost got relegated because lennon thought he could use cowdenbeath players. If you playing for a team that got relegated from the 1st duvision recently chances are you're shite.
-
craig reid looks a real prospect. Relegated with qots two seasons ago and managed to ship five goals to dundee last season in the cup. This better be a wind up.
-
aye it was awful when our defence was able to keep a clean sheet on a regular basis.
-
surely no one is stupid to have a transfer policy where you go for experienced internationalists and if they knock you back poach players from morton? Mcmanus would be a great signing. If hutchy goes i'd happily see him paired with cummins.
-
i don't really see the point of signing another centrehalf that can also play right back. Mccall badly needs faddy to sign
-
to surmise. he almost killed an accies player. he dives. he shits himself. his maw is a mattress. we hate him, he hates us.
-
good to see a few shocks. any team that knocks out a seed in round two will be on the seeded side of the draw in round three so we might luck an easier tie that way.
-
that's my day ruined
-
she obviously didn't explain it very clearly to the guy from the herald either

tony mowbray gave an interview yesterday saying that boro wanted to get rid of mcdonald due to his 30k a week wages but understandably mcdonald isn't willing to give up any of the money he is due so it is diffucult to move him on. It would be quite a development if he went from holding out for the full 3m remaining on his contract to going on trial with us in less than 24 hours.
-
aye he gave up 30 grand a week at boro to come back to fir park, he says we're the only club he ever wanted to play for.
-
nijholt went to swindon. van der gaag went to utrecht.
-
he should get himself involved in the nijmegen marches to get into shape for their preseason.
-
that is why i pointed out burns is the only one that applies to in recent memory. Domoleaux scored a goal from 40 yards against us and an overhead kick when he was playing for aberdeen which was galling considering he never scored for us.
-
united fans on P&B seem to think he'll cost them £150,000.
-
plenty of old players have came back to haunt us like townsley, mcdonald, domoleaux, mcculloch. the only i can think of who we let go was alex burns who scored 5 against us in the one season with partick which was only the warm up for the pain he inflicted when we brought him back.
-
i've got to say dundee united's signings are making me feel better about what we've brought in. two boys from queen's park. two from partick. one from raith. a defender from the conference south and a striker who couldn't get a game at st johnstone two seasons ago. they are spending a fortune on goodwillie but he's probably forgot how to play football.
-
he signed his last contract before that scotland cap from april 2010
-
hammell got one so it can't be unbroken. our ex loan keeper luke daniels has been at west brom since 2004 and signed a new contract recently which keeps him there until 2015 but has never played a minute for the baggies. he might not even get a game at his own testimonial.

i think that is the 6th meeting i've attended but it's the first time the nuts and bolts of how the society will accquire shares and loan money to the club were clearly explained. considering all the effort that went into creating the society it's surprising that two years on from the nucleus the rules weren't fit for purpose and many engaged members totally misunderstood the model. the most pertinent question of the night was from a guy near the back who asked about a time scale for fan ownership. this response to this from the society board can best be described as flapping but derek weir admitted that it was impossible to say. this is what i believe will be the downfall of the society, the initial membership was the most enthusiastic fans contributing to try and get the society established. now you are looking for less enthusiastic people to join up and if they ask what difference their £300 or £1000 will make there is not one single tangible thing the society can tell them. it's basically give us a lump sum at the moment and we might own the club in ten years time which isn't very inspiring. as andy said above the society has the option now of buying shares or loaning money to provide capital to the club. for me the best thing for the society would be to loan the money short term and build up the funds in the society account as there is no difference between the society owning 6% or 26% in the club and giving the club the money means there is a chance they will spend it (we heard a lot about how they will try not to spend it, nothing about ring fencing protocols in place). as the board have already spent 1/3rd of the money without consulting the membership i doubt the average member will get any say in this. the other main thing that was changed was changing the rules so that members who don't pay their annual fees aren't ejected from the society. it seems to me that whether they do or don't won't have much effect on the society grand total anyway as the annual fee pays for your benefits which makes it a zero sum game. i asked about the lack of communication from the new club board members since their election and they said they will try to give members an idea of what they are doing in their roles as directors going forward. also graham barnstaple is representing the club at the euro draw in nyon which is nice for him.

i agree but i don't think he has what it takes to play right back week in week out. there may be a centrehalf in there.
