reynolds would have been playing at left back or midfield in a few of those games, definitely at mcdiarmid and at home to killie. subbing craigan off at halftime when we were 0-0 against ten men accies and putting hateley to centrehalf was a good one.

did he not almost catch a ball over the top that would have sent a dunfermline player through on goal? very similar to the one desperate dan got no booking for in the cup final when he was at least due a second yellow.

when he left we were sitting having P.14 W.7 D.2 L.5 F.22 A.16 which was a decent record, we were in the league cup semi final and had had a decent run in europe. the week at the start of november when we won in inverness on the saturday then hammered st johnstone 4-0 midweek everything looked to be going great (alan gow apart). sacking the manager after the euphoria of 6-6 and 3-3 wouldn't have been very in keeping with the way the club operate.

my favourite bit was when he was writing letters to hugh dallas and moaning about not getting a reply then the sfa produced the proof of recorded delivery so gannon changed his story to say he just hadn't got round to reading them. Sending lasley out to warm up after using 3 subs at pittodrie was a highpoint as well, never seen that before or since. Gannon was entertaing, malpas was just depressing.
  5. the first young striker we've had with a physical presence since mcculloch. from what i saw of him in the summer he doesn't make the most of his build yet but is technically very good. if he puts it all together he'll be some player.
  6. signing a midfielder to sit on the bench isn't a problem if it's someone that has a chance of developing as a player and eventually winning a starting position, i don't see lawson doing that at this stage in his career. I think we'll look back at him as a panic signing.
  7. he's done better than expected but we are under pressure everytime the opposition have a set piece as they can fire it right into the six yard box and he won't come off his line. if the other keeper is better he should be playing.
  8. he is a million miles away from international standard. He might get a friendly appearance to put him onto 50 caps but it will take a miracle to get him in the team on merit.
  9. the sfa made an arse of handing out the embargo to rangers because they didn't account for the window shutting on the monday. Because of that every club gets shafted.
  10. looking at the draw you would expect celtic to win easily but there is potential for upsets in the rest of them.
  11. i think morton's last visit to fir park would put a lot of their fans off travelling. Cappielow is a good ground for a midweek trip with the train station right next to the ground.
  12. anything apart from stranraer away.
  13. they're not really though are they? they are not bad players who have played the vast majority of their football in the piss poor scottish first divsion without attracting much attention. lawson is 29 and has less top league appearances than carswell.
  14. is mccall going to be at fir park this week or is he away with scotland?
  15. flying fraser kerr is the man to make things happen on the wing.
  16. i don't share your confidence. there is a huge question mark beside mcfadden and if he doesn't sort himself out then our attacking options are sutton, arnier and mchugh which is dire.
  17. the most depressing thing about today is that despite having no injuries or suspensions our 3 subs to get us back into the game were carswell, mchugh and fraser kerr at right mid. we have had a terrible transfer window.
  18. too old, too slow. Waiting until we're losing to make a sub is classic mccall.
  19. the jury is out on every player after two games surely? you can't declare someone a good signing until they actually produce the goods in claret and amber.
  20. why is it shite, it's just my opinion on the merits of two players. higginbotham can play three positions for you, it's very difficult to say where vigurs should be playing. so i'd go for higginbotham. vigurs has played two games for us so far and hasn't contributed much, the jury is very much out.
  21. i'd have signed him before vigurs. do you know something about a replacement for humphrey?
  22. it got chopped off. he'll do well for them tho.
  23. whether or not he is a right back is secondary to whether he is any good playing there in this league. he can probably hold the fort defensively but if we are looking for him to contribute going forward we are in trouble.
