  1. has anyone asked the refs what they actually want? i was thinking today that no refs from other countries would 'cross the picket line' but i forgot how corrupt the welsh fa are. considering they basically let cardiff and swansea away with murder it's no suprise that they'd fuck our refs over for a bit of dough. sueing the sfa is a completely idiotic idea. i don't think uefa would look very kindly on it and if the sfa wanted revenge they could just ban every spl club from europe for 3 years.
  2. ideally celtic would be expelled from scottish football but that's not going to happen. it should only be celtic who are boycotted by the refs but if they did that then they'd never hear the end of it from celtic and there would be no chance of ever ending this. idiots like speirs and keevins having been going on about how celtic have the sfa "over a barrel" without saying what celtic could possibly do to them. the bottom line is that there's no games without refs and that the sfa is football in scotland whether people like it or not. i'd like to see our club leading the way, maybe teaming up with st johnstone, hibs, st mirren and killie and trying to sort this out before the weekend. draw up a respect charter and get everyone to agree to it, if anyone refuses to sign up or breaks it then the refs can boycott them.
  3. this is actually beyond belief. reynolds has played about half a dozen games at left back and not been particularly impressive, what gives you a lot of time for him there compared to the 170+ games he's played at centreback? reynolds and craigan have been an excellent partnership for motherwell at a relatively very succesful period in the club's history. our defensive record in 2010 has been superb and we've kept clean sheets in nearly half our games, how the fuck people can criticise reynolds and craggs is completely beyond me. in 22 games this season we've only conceded more than one goal 4 times (hibs x2, denmark, ibrox), that's a great record for any side but for one that playes 4 out and out attackers in every game it's unbelievable. anyone who thinks the defence have let us down this season and that we need mcghee's 6 foot 4 centre half has as much of a grip on reality as that diddy.
  4. fair play to the refs. the last month has been ridiculous and we all know who's to blame. celtic have ruined fitba and something needs to be done. the referee's decision is final and if you cannae accept that then you shouldn't be playing the game. the hassle mcdonald, collum and dallas have had and the abuse lennon gave mclean has been completely unacceptable and something serious should be done about reid and lennon. the other clubs should call a emergency meeting at the sfa and try and push through new guidlines about respecting refs with heavy punishments if you don't, hopefully that would be enough to convince them to put next weeks games on. someone mentioned rugby, did you not see the farce at the end of wales-fiji or are you aware of the elv's and the controversy around the breakdown? refs make mistakes in every league and in every sport even in the nfl where they have replays, a squad of refs and and as much time as they need they still have dodgy calls.
  5. the stewards were dicks the day and the fat guy was out of order but.. if you want to see the full game then it's not hard to make sure you don't get chucked out. the lads in the singing section seem to enjoy a bit of a clash with the stewards and there will always be a couple of unlucky people that get fucked out. i don't like seeing anyone getting chucked out at fir park but when you go away it's their t and c you're agreeing to going in which is nothing to do with us and if you noise up the stewards your running the risk of being fucked out. the boys down the front right gave the team a cracking support today though and big nick clearly appreciated it. the folk sitting behind them greeting about the standing need to get a grip, why sit there to begin with if that bothers you?
  6. the curse of alan gow strikes again. ever since he came into the team we've been getting worse. some might be impressed with a few nice touches and and dribbles but the end result has been hee-haw and the team as whole are suffering. murphy is the future of the club and a far better all round player than the jonah but he gets stuck out wide and pulled early while gow gets to saunter about doing whatever the fuck he wants. it's not a co-incidence that our best performance by miles recently came when gow was out of the team. we've got matchwinners already in blackman, humph and murphy, we don't need a guy who seems to think the full point of us winning possesion is so he can run at 4 defenders. alan gow gtf
  7. so around 4000 for non old firm games which is what we get the now.
  8. any chance of giving an average attendance for that season?
  9. aye but i think they get fewer non season ticket holders for OF matches than other games.
  10. cheers, things will probably be a bit different this year due to the cooper kids deal tho.
  11. there should be a thread on here from last season where leeann dempster outlined the numbers in each stand and how many season ticket holders there were and how many attended one game (i think was the rangers 0-0 last september). here it is
  12. randolph saunders craigan reynolds hammell humphrey jennings las/fitzy murphy sutton blackman get sutty and fitzy back in as we'll get nothing here unless we can mix it with midden. saunders is a must as well to combat higdon in the air. let's hope we can get the three points and set up a belter of a match with hearts the following week.

    Van Der Gaag

i think m'lord was out injured for a fair bit of the season. the killie game was his 2nd game back and i remember being at the bb 7s on the night after he made his comeback in a midweek home defeat and everyone was talking about how bad he was in that game and the next week he scored a hat trick i'm still gutted i was on holiday when he got his second hat trick of the season against raith. hopefully nick the blackman can be the next well player to get two hat tricks in a season.
  14. i doubt he'll be thinking thats made it but he's got nothing to be embarassed about. from the amatuer scottish cup final to the scotland squad in less than 3 and a half years, he should be proud as fuck. levein wanted a right back, what's that got to do with murphy or reynolds? saunders situation is totally seperate from theirs. i'll admit i'm suprised but he's in a squad but with caddis, wilson and davidson in there as well he's not out of place. and as for being a motherwell sub he's started 16 out the 19 matches he was available for.
  15. saunders has played against far better opposition in the spl, in the europa qualifiers and for the u19s and u21s, it's daft to say we should be worried about him playing against the faroes. levein obviously likes him because he is dominant in the air and when he eventually switches to centrehalf i could see him becoming a scotland regular, his performances at cb in the games where we got clean sheets at pittodrie, tannadice, parkhead and at home to rangers last season were outstanding. even though i think he'd stroll through the faroes game i'd rather see him in the u21s as i doubt he's going to get on. a conspiracy theorist might say levein is ensuring no motherwell players pick up any caps this week and that saunders place in the u21 team goes to a hearts player
  16. unless they're talking about red cards they must be grade a retards.
  17. with stuff like the saunders offside decision i don't think there's much to be said, you either accept it or accuse the linesman of cheating. i don't think the linesman was cheating on saturday he just made a bad decision, if you can't accept that then there's not really much point in playing the game. however i would hope that craig would be mentioning it off the record to the monday press to get it brought up today and maybe putting in a wee call to his pals at sportscene to get the two late tackles highlighted. single decisions are one thing, trends over a longer period are another. we should be asking the sfa in private about criag thomson's willingnes to allow defenders to manhandle our players and dougie mcdonald's distribution of cards in motherwell games. if the answer isn't satisfactory then we should go public as these are things that have been fucking us over for years. we should be screaming blue murder about the timekeeping. the game didn't last 90 minutes, there's no judgement involved there we were just fucked over.
  18. bad news. he must have woken up to how shite he is. we need at least one midfielder in january. please don't let brown waste all our money on this chancer.
  19. watching on alba 6 minutes 50 seconds injury time got played which is actually less than their boy was down for. add in trakys, blackman, liam miller's minute long sub and the two incidents and subbings in stoppage time and we should have been looking at 102 minutes. brown should definitely complain about that. decisions are one thing, not getting 90 mins is another and mcdonald has done it before in the edinburgh derby to benefit hibs.
  20. gary fucking kenneth. fuck levein i hope the faroes pump us.
  21. i think it was to do with the fact that it was massively deflected and the ball broke to him from a st johnstone player tackling gow.
  22. moaning isn't exactly working out well for lennon though is it? saying that if we could ban dougie mcdonald and craig thomson from our games 90% of our problems with refs would disapear.

    Hibernian

reynolds for me just shading it from hammell and randy.
  24. not that a bad result or performance in context but definitely craig brown's worst day in the motherwell dug out. tom hateley - back in centre midfield and as ineffectual as ever. he won the ball once in the entire game and was generally murder. we can't go away from home and play with two attacking wingers and a passenger in the centre of midfield, we found that out badly in the 6-6 game. the guy clearly isn't cut out to play in a pair in centre midfield. fitzy gave the ball away loads the other night but i would still have him in front of hateley as he's got a bit of dig. alan gow - big sutty had a decent game the other night and it was clear from the ict and st johnstone games that we're much better with sutton in the team but gow came back in anyway. he was diabolical the day, he had some nice bits of skill in the first half but most of the time he doesn't seem interested. an empty shirt who better lose his place for the trip to midden. subs - nae subs for 88 minutes even although mark brown hasn't made a save then three on at once. only they don't get on for a couple of minutes then even when play stops we don't put them on as we're defending a free kick then it's another couple of minutes. awful. saying that we've played much worse at easter road and the two goals we lost were very unlucky. we're still in a great position and hopefully we'll bounce back from today with an excellent performance in the next fixture as we have done from all our league loses this season.
