I didn't say he signed them. Just that we constantly have one hand tied behind our back due to financial commitments to players not up to the required standard. No one wanted to sign Paton or Obika. SOD is pish, Kettlewell knows he is pish because when we needed goals against Livi and Dundee United the first thing he did was sub him off. We have been saying the quality over quantity thing for three years now with no sign it's ever going to happen. What happen is that they will keep jacking the tickets prices up with no apology to fund signing these duds. We are a point now where the club should be a bit more careful with our money.

I don't know who's available but I know that we picked up Obika at the deadline in January and pulled Paton out a job centre in March. The priority should be signing starters first when we have the most budget to work with then if we need duds to round out the squad get them last minute where there are always plenty of Obika/Paton types available. Butcher is out injured for the few months of the season. That just leaves Kelly in terms of players we can rely on. The squad is as bad as it's ever been.

The guy was unemployed and was poor or average in his appearances for us. If he's not happy to take a year deal to prove himself then he leave. As it stands he piss poor and injury prone and likely to be another contract like Morris, Maguire, Shields, Danzaki, McGinley where we are stuck paying guys who contribute nothing.

We had a 29 goal striker last season and weren't safe until 3 games to go. Take him out the team and we would have been relegated. If Paton and Obika are the level of player we are looking at we will get relegated. Who are the guys shaking hands with Tierney and SOD?

Obika was utter shite when he wasn't injured. He only managed a goal when the ball hit off him. If we actually sign him again it's a sign we are going down.

Carson barely put a foot wrong in his first season with us before the DVT issue. He's spoken about his gambling issues which probably explain why he was playing for Hartlepool when he clearly had the ability to play much higher. Gillespie was great for as well, big saves and not too many errors. Kelly is a good keeper for us but not on Gillespie's level.

Freeing up the wage and bringing in a transfer should leave us with the funds to bring in two starters to play up front. Those two signings will make or break Kettlewell as we have fuck all goals anywhere else in the squad.

He's not going to sign for a manager who only gave him a chance when he was losing and desperate for a goal. He should go to the Scottish Championship for a season and get some games under his belt.

As the Murrells have shown there is no such as thing as ring fencing. When money goes into a bank account numbers on a screen go up. When you spend it goes down.
