It should be Tuesday.

I don't know about that. The small proportion of over 60s who have chosen not to vaccinated are far less healthy in general than their peers and would be likely to be badly impacted by the virus vaccine or not.
-
It'll be difficult to make sense of those figures now as the Scottish Government legally changed the definition of unvaccinated the other day. Unvaccinated now means 0,1 and 2 doses plus people who are triple jagged but had their booster less than 14 days before their positive test.

It's 20 days since Sturgeon said Omicron was dominant which meant taking over Delta which was widespread. All the signs are pointing to this being far milder, it's not going to suddenly change severity. The Scottish Government today finally put out figures separating out who is being treated for Covid and who has Covid in hospital for two health boards. It's 60% for and 40% with which translates to roughly 500 people being treated for Covid in the whole of Scotland which is good news.
-
You posted that you think 60% of the entire Scottish population have Covid today. The BBC story is the total number of infections during the entire pandemic.
-
Your fear isn't reason to put the football off though. That's a reason for you to stay in the house. We are now 20 days into our Omicron wave and there has been no spike in serious illness. This matches data from South Africa, London and Denmark. It is undeniably far milder.
-
You think 3 million people have Covid in Scotland today? Have you got some sort of disability relating to numeracy? Al B posted the actual figures for the last week of 2021 in his first post on this page.

If Celtic are giving him to us very cheap then it probably makes sense to take him. I can't think why they would do that though..... Slattery, Donnelly, Cornelius and Maguire all need games for various reasons and sticking a loanee who won't be here next season in the team ahead of them might hurt us long term. The guy should join the back of the queue.

Hospital admissions have run 10-14 days behind infections throughout the pandemic. The ICU figures from London show far fewer hospital admissions needing ventilation despite them having the lowest vaccination rate in the country.

100% correct Al. There has to be a reckoning over sending untested people into care homes at the height of the first wave. As he says cases are higher here despite the darts, football, clubbing, gigs and not wearing a mask to go for pish in England. If it's not full crowds from the next fixture I think there will be a serious backlash.

https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-daily-data-for-scotland/ Yesterday there were 11 thousand cases with 23% positivity. On Monday were there 20 thousand cases with 35% positivity.

Infections and positivity rates are dropping.

Who is wearing a mask in a pub?
-
They may have got a deal on The Thumb after the email stuff.

You could have said the same about ZFA, Page, Carswell and McHugh in Valencia.

Our new restrictions. England was higher than us before the new restrictions because London had more Omicron. The rest of England and Scotland are similar in those figures. The next update on restrictions is next Tuesday which will be almost 4 weeks since the Scottish Government proclaimed Omicron the dominant strain. If Omicron hasn't resulted in an ICU spike by then it never will. The figures from South Africa and London are very optimistic.

Goss, Slattery, Donnelly, Maguire, Cornelius, Tierney, O'Hara and Grimshaw. We are covered.
-
They kept us locked down for 9 months from a 3 week circuit breaker so I have to disagre with you there. The current restrictions are not an attempt to control the virus. You can go the gym, cinema, pub, restaurant and have a big party in your house. There were weddings over the festive period. These restrictions are a political move to be seen to be doing something and the targets as they were back in the Thatcher era are football fans and dance music.
-
Those figures are from before the new restrictions. The figures for England outwith London and Scotland are pretty much the same.
-
They beat us in our last three cup final appearances so if you are serious about us ever lifting a trophy again then yes they are. An upgrade despite the fact you've never seen him play?
-
All full at the same time?
-
We have 6 centre mids in the hunt for 3 spots. This would be a crazy signing.
-
Do you think those fans disapear when they aren't at the football? And it's not hundreds of thousands people either. As I said a clear problem with arithmetic.

Hospital admissions are increasing because people are being admitted for other reasons and testing positive for asymptomatic Covid. The ICU number is currently 42. The figures from England show that sporting events make no difference. Anyone who genuinely believes that stopping football matches which are attended by less than 2% of the population for a few hours a week will reduce transmission has little grasp on Covid or arthimetic. Pushing people from an outside activity towards inside activities probably increases transmission overall.
