It is a bit of a nothing result for us, its been said everybody else around us dropped points so thats ideal. It is all about the sheepers game but if i'm really honest with myself i've got the fear about the sheep. Not because they are a better team but McInnes will see clear as day that our goalkeepers are probably up there with the worst in the league so his players will be shooting onsite against us and will probably get a lot of joy with the tactic, i expect a high scoring game between us cause our attack will score goals against them but our goalkeeping situation is enough to make you greet :(

Not sure what to make of it all.

Wasnt sure about the starting 11. I get what McCall says about not being too gung ho as Celtic certainly have the players to hurt you. However, if you are looking to soak up pressure surely you play one up front and that person has to be mobile and run the channels ie NOT Sutton. Not sure the full back set up was right either. Kerr was fit enough to be on the bench and come on so why not play him and leave Hammell at left back. Thought we looked exposed on both flanks as a result. Dont think we pressed the ball enough either. Their players got plenty space to think what they wanted to do.

That said, we looked much better in the second half and although we were far more attacking we only lost 1 goal and an og at that.

No doubting Celtic are better than us, just disappointing that we continue to make the gap look bigger than it really is.

Until we sort out this goalkeeping issue we will always be vulnerable to losing goals. It’s a specialised position and some would say the most important position in the team. It looks as if Neilson will not be a long term solution and McCall will no doubt be on the look out for a replacement. Hollis has looked more capable, however, like Neilson he has been suspect at times. To sum up we need at least one new keeper.

I don't think Nielsen can be blamed at all for the 1st goal today, I blame Hutchinson for getting turned by Stokes far too easily and McManus if you watch the replay back makes no attempt to bust a gut to keep Commons away from the tap in. Nielsen parrying it where he did was all he could do. I also believe that Stokes well and truly dived for his penalty and that Nielsen never actually touched him. I watched and saw the ball was going out of play and Stokes doesn't go down till he is at least a few yards past Nielsen which to me makes it a clear dive. I felt we played well second half but if you don't take the chances then most likely you will get punished, don't know why Faddy never put his foot through the ball instead of trying to be clever and place into the net.

Few things for me. Any game plan we may have had was truely fucked by Neilson with those first 2 goals.

Hammell struggled at right back and angol was very poor today, still needs a lot of development

Great to see faddy getting stuck in today thought he looked miles better.

Also stokes sending off was never a red card. Ref was terrible today for both aides with multiple errors

I thought Angol had a really good game. Certainly got down the wing and got a few good crossess in. Granted he was posted missing when Forrest ran past Vigurs in 2nd half as if he wasnt there. Carswell had a good game in midfield and Faddy showed flashes of brilliance (sitter apart).

Neilsen would have probably got to the ball for the 2nd, if he hadn't hesitated - poor decision making anyhow

Was surprised to see the red card come out but it must have been a bad one looking at carswells reaction to it, got right in stokes face and had a go at him.

Thought the one at 2-0 on vigurs should have been a stick on red (tackle not as bad but prevented a clear goalscoring opportunity). Unsurprisingly madden bottled that one.

Thought vigurs and mcfadden had good games. Lasley his usual self. Think ramsden might have made a difference today, Hammell at RB is not the answer, thought that when he played there against st mirren earlier in the season.

Funny moment though was that nugget in the Celtic end shouting, on a couple of occasions, "ya sheep shaggin' bastards"! Don't think anyone even knew what to say!!

Just seen the goals, penalty and red card on Sky Sports News and it looks live every goal has come from us being in possession and the defence being caught short by being too up the pitch. Clearly I cannot judge our tactics and formation on that but the goals we lost suggest we were trying to play it higher up the pitch. On the one showing I got it looked like the referee was bang on the money with both the penalty and the red card. Looked like Neilson clipped him and the Celtic player tried to stay on his feet and then realised he wasn't getting it and went down like a sack of spuds. Doesn't change that there was an infringement. Seemed a bit strange that Madden and Carswell seemed to be having a race to reach Stokes first. Spoke with one of them on the train back from work and they said we played OK but our final ball was generally poor. Thing is our chance of being lucky against them is to keep it tight and hope to catch them when they go for it later on. I think McCall's tactics are spot on but they keep getting blown out the water by individual errors.

Would need to see the penalty on better definition that MFC TV. But it looks like Stokes falls 'over 3 hours after any contact is made if any.

We seem to have played better than previous visits, but we still seem so meek at Porkheid. After the Stokes red card a few of the Celtic players have a go at the decision including that Baldy cnut Brown. I would be telling him and his fellow players to do one.

Anyway we move on after one of many disappointing results at the tattie bowl.

A lot of the unwashed from phone in's and their forums seem to think Keith Lasley is particularly dirty especially when it comes to them (bear in mind they are both the world's best fans and the victims of establishment conspiracies). You wonder if any of this paranoia seeps down to the players and influenced Stokes' behaviour so late in the match when the game was won.

Just when we're on the subject, I fully expect them to appeal on Monday. While the SFA can retrospectively punish someone for aggressive behaviour, does anyone know if that extends to diving to win penalties?

I've always wondered why handball by an outfield player on the line or the last defender bringing down a striker through to deny a clear goalscoring opportunity are immediate reds however a striker diving to try and deceive the ref and win a penalty with a fair chance of the defending player also being booked only ever gets a yellow.

Red card looked harsh. Definite yellow although he did catch Las on the ankle. Hard to say if it was deliberate although Carswell reacted as if it was a naughty one.

Its Stokes, the guy has spent his career falling over for feck all and every defender has to take his pish, yellow cards, free kicks etc cos of his diving .Karma is a bitch, Hope it wasn't justified .Welcome to our world ya turd.sleep.gif

Maybe so. But someone asked the question as to whether the red card was justified. I wasnt assuming the role of his defence agent.

 Eh? It was a naughty one alright... Had it been vice versa he of Treacle Teeth would be apoplectic!

Again, you are probably right. But it was a late tackle, not an over the ball or 2 feet off the ground job. As I said, he did Catch Las on ankle and I would like to see it again to see what it is that got Carswell incensed and convinced the ref to send him off. Im not defending Stokes but on first viewing, had it been one of our players, I would have thought it was harsh.

Check the few seconds before the tackle, Stokes sprinted full pelt with only one intention.

The penalty was a joke, yes there was contact, but taking a few steps and then going down is completely unacceptable. I hate that any contact from the goalkeeper these days seems to justify a penalty being awarded.

Edit - Just saw the sending off again on SSN, check Stokes swagger off all chuffed with getting a cheer from the great unwashed only to be put in his place. Dirty wee cheating f*cker.

Just seen the red card incident. It was not harsh at all !! If that was Lasley doing that to Stokes there would have been a fucking uproar ! Scummy wee prick

You are right. There would have been an uproar if the roles were reversed. But football fans are not known for their impartiality.

Will be interested to see it again tonight on a bigger clearer screen and hear the views of the pro's.
