You're surely not serious about him heading it. Penney throws it off him, there's no movement of his head.

Distance wise, the rule states all opponents must stand 2 yards back when the throw in is about to be taken. If you take a quick free kick before the opponent is 10 yards back and he intercepts it, play continues. Same rule applies?

He touches the ball before it enters the field of play. That's enough to make it a foul throw.

Are you a relative of Collum?

Bobby are u at wind up?

Play at free kick if player is not 10 yards back gets taken again and defender usually gets booked. Same rules at throw ins if less than 2 yards

Its irrelevant whether his head moved or not,he walked right in front of Penny ffs and basically impeded his throw, oh and there was no way he was 2 yds away from penney, so the throw in should have been retaken and hence the goal was invalid, but when we have incompetent arseholes as VAR officials they see nothing wrong its a fekin joke.

No, I'm no at the wind up. Here it is in black and white:

If, when a free kick is taken, an opponent is closer to the ball than the required distance, the kick is retaken unless the advantage can be applied; but if a player takes a free kick quickly and an opponent who is less than 9.15 m (10 yds) from the ball intercepts it, the referee allows play to continue

Mate the ball never entered field of play when Celtic player headed so the rule there is for retaken throw

Ok. Hammell, who was right next to it, didn't mention it in his interview.

Ah well closer than I expected but I am sick and tired with the cheap goals we are conceding, Slattery shocking for first and Penney just needs a simple throw back to Lamie.

KVV misses great chance and just spends full half jogging not in the least bit interested, just my opinion and you don't need to agree but as a lone striker he is just wasted as workrate is shocking.if he is injured then he shouldn't be starting,

We keep losing my odd goal so we aren't far away but we really need a big confidence boost on Saturday and then get Louis fit during world cup break.  COYW

U have to feel for KVV,clearly not fit as he only lasted a half..he's up top on his own fighting a losing battle unless the midfield help with the press u can't expect him t chase down 2centre halfs n a goalkeeper even when we did get the ball over the top he couldn't out run carthorse vickers

Appreciate your view spud but I don't think fighting is a word that can be attributed to KVV, just never looks up for it and hardly breaks sweat. If injured then best not starting

Motherwell manager Steven Hammell: "Matt [Penney] took it quickly and the Celtic player stopped it from off the pitch. That was the frustration. Essentially the Celtic player has headed the ball on to the pitch. It's not an excuse but we were wanting them to look at it. I don't even though if they did, it was just dismissed quickly.

Yes he did. He covered it on Sportsound so guaranteed to be on Sportscene as its the same interview.

Fair enough, different interview. I'm pretty sure they did look at it though, kept replaying it while the goal was being checked. They've obviously decided his head was on the field of play when it hit him. One of his feet certainly was.

OK here you go just for you, Fifa IFAB laws of the game, its law 15.2 by the way The throw in

An opponent who unfairly distracts or impedes the thrower (including moving closer than 2 m (2 yds) to the place where the throw-in is to be taken) is cautioned for unsporting behaviour, and if the throw-in has been taken, an indirect free kick is awarded.

and the VAR team said nothing to see here you honestly could not make up nonsense like that.

So you can stop talking pish now, the goal should never have stood.

They checked it so they either don't know rules or its cheating.

Seems as if we are whining but is their any other explanation.

it's not going to be deliberate cheating so that just leaves incompetence or not checking properly,  given the bargin basement VAR we got I suspect they never had a camera on it, either way its unacceptable.
