weeyin
Some encouraging signs from the new players, and can see some new tactical ideas taking shape - but work to be done. I thought Connelly handled the sweeper-keeper role better than Ward, albeit with little pressure being applied. The less said about the defence the better. weeyin
AP's not a hold-up man, he's an inside the box finisher. If we want to get the most from him, he needs to be facing the goal with the ball in front of him.

one_luc_nijholt
Clearly we still have an issue centre of defence as their goal showed … but can see how he wants us to play and thought there were some decent spells of possession and moving the ball about well. The flicks and link up will come with time. Seeing a lot of doom and gloom on social media but definitely more cup half full tonight. Faddy looks a decent find! Ya Bezzer!
You'll probably know that I'm not Slattery's biggest fan but he came back last season and was pretty good. These two games this season, garbage. Watt wasn't very good either and when you add that to our central defensive issues that's a big hole right down the middle of the pitch. Plus there is the centre forward position, again didn't see anything convincing from the guys that played there tonight. You aren't going to do anything at any level of football unless you sort out the spine of the team. There were occasional good spells of forward play, the two goal scorers did well. Maswanhise when he came on. But there was also fairly long spells when we looked disconnected, slack play, poor passing, poor delivery, poor set plays, laboured movement and tempo. It was all about winning tonight but unless performances improve we are going to come a cropper in one of these matches and if we play like this against Rangers it's going to be a very bad start to the season. Two games in, now we need to see better play.
weeyin
1 minute ago, wellgirl said: Yeah. But some other converters say five foot ten if you put the same thing in - which is a bit odd People my age grew up with both systems, so know there are 2.54cm to an inch. 179 / 2.54 = 70.47 inches. 12 inches to a foot, so 70.46 inches = 5 ft 10.47 inches.
grumpy
4 minutes ago, parko66 said: not if you put 1.79m into a converter online - comes out as...... It is .87 of a foot, there are 12 inches in a foot so 12 x 0.872 = 5 feet and 10 and a half inches. one advantage of being old is you can think in metric and imperial.

FirParkCornerExile
A real slog tonight but we got there in the end. We tried to do the pressing game but too often the passing was slack and broke down. Peterhead kept it really tight at the back and we struggled with it . Be interested to see how we fare against teams who open out but no doubt there are still improvements needed. However if you were the guy at the back of section F in the Hunter stand who abused nearly every player you need to get a grip. Boo'd SOD onto the park , never left Euan Wilson with a name and berated Gordon most of the game. We were all feeling frustrated but fuck me you were way over the top. wellfan
Just home and not entirely sure what to make of that, so I’ll stick to the positives and negatives. Positives Watt and Fadinger look like tidy additions to the midfield. Connelly looked fairly comfortable on his first start — barely tested, but not at fault for their goal. Manny could be moulded into a diamond with time. Just is a tricky wee player who I reckon will be useful in certain games. Slattery’s cross for the goal. Negatives The defence. Again. Jesus Christ. Wilson — what on earth has happened to him? I’m not sure how Sparrow fits into this team now. Stama is either crap or not being used to his strengths. The rain.
