We have beaten this mob twice at Ibrox in successive seasons , so now is the time to do it at Fir Park

Most likely a frustrating narrow 1-2 defeat in what is a typical Motherwell v Rangers game at Fir Park, the type we’ve seen all too often over the years.

Just go for it, sure slight adjustments for defending but fuck it, stick to the plan.

Rangers have struggled to win their opener in recent years. I think this will be a low scoring draw.

Obviously I'd love to see us win and I think getting them at home on the first day of the season gives us a better chance but this will be a massive step up.

What I'd like to see is a good professional attitude.  Go out and compete.  If that gets you a result - great.

However I think every lower league team we've played so far has either scored or had real opportunities to score and against Rangers that's going to present a much bigger problem.

Our League Cup matches were a bit up and down, finishing on a high but this is a different type of test.  

It'll be interesting to see how we stand up to it.

Let’s face it, if we ever get anything off these 2 it’s a bonus, I’m hopeful having a foreign manager there will be less of a fear factor so many Scottish coaches have of playing them but I would be happy to go out and play to how the manager wants and see how it goes. 
the real tests are against every other side in the league.

Totally agree, as ever when playing the ugly sisters anything you get is a bonus, so 1st league game of the season, let's just get in their faces from the off, play our new high tempo style and see what reward it brings.

I don't see this as a free hit. This is an opportunity, very early in the season, to see how the team are shaping up for the marathon that is the league. I expect us to be brave on the ball and have much more of the game than we've had in previous meetings. I expect us to be in their faces from start to finish. I expect us to perform well and make a statement to the league that Motherwell will be a force this season.

Will we win? My heart says that we will, but my head says probably not, but I don't expect us to lose with a whimper.
